  • Oh boy! hope you were given some good pain meds for that...i didn't realise that wisdom teeth are only taken out on that basis here so that's good to know. most people i know from Canada (where i'm from) have gotten theirs out like a routine procedure. by OysterPuke (Wed 20th May 2020 12:56pm)

  • I live in yorkhill and duke’s and the brunch club are completely jumping!! People just standing around altogether, looks totally overbooked. Would advise against going to these two by OysterPuke (Sat 11th Jul 2020 1:13pm)
  • oh that sounds class! yeah the past few days it looks a bit more spaced out whenever I passed by by OysterPuke (Thu 16th Jul 2020 3:04pm)
  • You're not being overly cautious at all! After months of a lockdown and being super careful, it's so terrible that people are ruining this for the rest of us! It's hard to turn people down and I've been getting fomo lately but in the end I'd rather be safe than sorry. Hopefully the hype will die down soon and beer gardens/pubs will get a bit more spaced out (fingers crossed, maybe this is wishful thinking tho). Last night I went for a walk and passed the Sanctuary nightclub on Dumbarton rd which was absolutely mobbed...groups of people smoking on the side walk. Saw a couple people literally groping each other in broad daylight (8pm). Makes me sad that unis can't go back to in person classes but people can go out drinking :( by OysterPuke (Sun 19th Jul 2020 12:19pm)

  • Great suggestion. I’ll look into that..get the good old Pinterest going by OysterPuke (Thu 28th Jan 2021 2:40pm)
  • It absolutely does. I’m asking a question about painting protocols in Glasgow. I don’t mind getting it painted on my own accord. Where I’m from the landlord paints after tenants move out. by OysterPuke (Sun 31st Jan 2021 10:29am)

  • Thanks for sharing your experience, I felt the same. I was looking forward to going there but she store my hair like a southern belle x mushroom cut and it took a super long time. I don’t have very curly hair though so can’t comment on how they are in that regard. I will say that both owners are very nice though in my experience by OysterPuke (Sat 22nd May 2021 1:36am)

  • As someone who moved here from canada - we would only do fireworks on holidays. I agree with you that I hear people doing them off and on almost every evening. It seems to be more of a recreational hobby here? I really don’t understand the appeal, it’s dangerous, causes damage, and like you said, scares pets - overall an annoyance. by OysterPuke (Sun 31st Oct 2021 10:07pm)
  • I went to ace and Tate and am happy with mine. They give you a free appt with the optometrist first too to figure out your prescription. by OysterPuke (Thu 2nd Dec 2021 11:08pm)
  • I went in the other day and there was literally nothing in the freezer sections! I usually go to imart on Crow Rd or the one in finnieston (next to iolla on argyle street). They both have great selections of different sauces and dumplings. by OysterPuke (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:37pm)
  • I just watched this film yesterday for the first time! Awesome soundtrack. Nice to see it mentioned here. by OysterPuke (Mon 13th Dec 2021 5:38pm)
  • These are all great recommendations however I am always never impressed by elenas. In my experience, it has been overpriced and oily. by OysterPuke (Sun 23rd Jan 2022 4:57pm)
  • I’m late but have you seen the Facebook page south nitshill lovers? Although I wasn’t raised in Glasgow I work here now and stumbled upon the page. It looks like a tight knit group/community of people who grew up there. It’s interesting to see you’re honest experience vs some of the comments in the group saying it was a brilliant place to live around that time. They also commemorate a lot of people who have passed and many were very young. by OysterPuke (Tue 1st Feb 2022 10:42pm)

  • Respectfully why would an international student moving to glasgow want to live out in Hamilton lol? Also presuming they may not have access to a car. by OysterPuke (Mon 11th Jul 2022 6:49pm)
  • Hey! I was an international student and live/work in Glasgow now. I went to strathclyde so around where Cali is. I never lived in a student accommodation but I would recommend you look for some in the west end. That’s where I’ve always stayed and it’s extremely convenient with bus and subway, you can get to uni under 30 mins for sure. There seem to be a lot of accommodations around here now and the west end is a chill place to live with lots to do by OysterPuke (Mon 11th Jul 2022 6:52pm)
