  • Are you set on living alone? You could save money by renting a room in a shared flat or getting a friend to move in to a 2 bed with you, can work out well if you get a decent flatmate with similar interests by Repulsive_Ad_3539 (Sun 21st Mar 2021 11:57am)

  • I live in the town and after the last lockdown there was tons of places you could have just walked in to without a booking. So many places have outdoor space that you wouldn’t instantly think of as a beer garden so just have a wander about and you’ll get somewhere no bother IMO. Also it looks as if there will be even more than last summer as some places are actually getting to use the space on the road and streets going down to one lane to put tables out. I’m planning to just chance it, haven’t booked any tables by Repulsive_Ad_3539 (Wed 14th Apr 2021 11:29pm)

  • Glasgow cases have been higher throughout the pandemic because of the concentration of the population. It’s absolutely scandalous that it’s only in the last week the vaccination programme has targeted this area. First to be locked down and last to get out of it every time. Feel so sorry for the hospitality staff and businesses. by Repulsive_Ad_3539 (Fri 21st May 2021 12:47pm)

  • By rule of thumb, if a flat has lifts the factors will be steep as they are expensive to maintain and repair. Tenements and older buildings are usually less and some building’s residents manage it themselves privately. There’s usually a pot of money for maintenance and small repairs and any bigger jobs you will be made aware of and everyone splits it. by Repulsive_Ad_3539 (Sat 5th Jun 2021 11:02am)

  • If it’s on SVT it will be the same for every supplier based on postcode, meter and payment type. You will pay a huge premium to fix at the moment, effectively paying some of the October rise before it comes in hence why the advice is not to fix currently. Best bet it to try to lower usage as much as you can! by Repulsive_Ad_3539 (Wed 9th Mar 2022 7:25am)
  • There is if it doesn’t add up, I’m aware of the situation also. There were very few suppliers (who are still trading) offering more than one year fixed tariffs last winter so most fixed term contracts will roll off this winter and those customers will be affected anyway. Any who did more than a one year fix charged absolutely eye watering premiums. Although I don’t necessarily agree with the price cap, I doubt they’d do anything during the crisis as it would generate backlash and create even more fear. I’m not saying no one should fix, but do the maths, for me it absolutely wasn’t worth while. by Repulsive_Ad_3539 (Wed 9th Mar 2022 7:54am)
