  • Just working in hotels the past couple years, been thinking about getting back into IT. I worked as a 1st line engineer for like a year and a half, before giving up on it. I was supposed to be working in a hotel for a few months until I find my bearings.. Here I am haha. Trying to find a day shift reception job in a hotel this time of the year is pretty damn hard by Sarpy (Fri 19th Apr 2019 11:31am)

  • Have a similar problem- I bought a tube of carpetbettle/moth powder and sprinkled it around all the skirting in the effected room and the kitchen and I've not seen any larvae in ages nor any alive adults, just a few dead/dying ones [https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GOXOCQU/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o08\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GOXOCQU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) [https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06Y19DMBG/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06Y19DMBG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) by Sarpy (Mon 10th Jun 2019 9:54pm)

  • Loads of junkies kicking about but they do tend to keep to themselves! Seen a few hiding needles in the bins etc, when I called the police they said they can't do anything unless I see them physically injecting the shit :( by Sarpy (Mon 29th Jul 2019 6:46pm)

  • Gha have even told me to do that but I hate feeling like I'm wasting their time and she can be really inconsistent. • You have all been insanely helpful! I'll have a proper red through tonight as I'm off and try to reply--thanks everyone! by Sarpy (Sat 14th Sep 2019 9:29am)
  • I'm absolutely miserable living in a City. I've never lived elsewhere but I unfortunately live in Knightswood and my daily routine is trying to tactically avoid junkies and neds. Just last week I heard fighting at 6 am as I'm getting ready for work and a ned was outside with a baseball bat, caught me looking out my window and is threatening to come up and stab me etc. Even in town it's a struggle to move without someone dodgy approaching you and passive aggressively getting in your face and asking for money. The darker it gets the worse it gets as well :( I wish I lived in the outskirts or a town or something so badly- Damn me for never learning to drive haha. I know it's probably just as bad as being in Glasgow and I'd be just as miserable, but at least I'd be able to see the stars whilst getting stabbed lmao by Sarpy (Fri 18th Oct 2019 7:12pm)
  • High knightswood, just on banner drive by Sarpy (Sat 19th Oct 2019 3:46pm)

  • Dunno, depends on the hotel. The one I work at is pretty fairly priced by Sarpy (Sun 8th Dec 2019 8:18pm)
  • Happened to me in high knightswood, first night alone in the flat, first time living alone and a junkie starts having a go at my door at 2am off his face demanding to get let in :( felt so uneasy the following nights by Sarpy (Sat 14th Dec 2019 2:33am)
  • I've two Albino Giant African Land snails I'm looking to rehome if you're interested? For free ofc. They're just over a year old so a decent size now. by Sarpy (Mon 3rd Feb 2020 5:39pm)

  • I work in a hotel and I've been told if things don't improve by the end of April I'll likely be out of a job :) all while the manager and general manager line their pockets and stay at home. Fun times by Sarpy (Sun 15th Mar 2020 9:15am)

  • Found her son haha by Sarpy (Sat 18th Apr 2020 3:57pm)
  • Live above a junkie that hasn't worked a day in the two years I've lived above her either Replace the kids with 3 aggressive dogs that bark non-stop 24/7 tho. I've heard her hitting her grandkids, smacking the dogs and generally screaming abuse at everyone in her household. Reported her to the police, sspca, gha and the council and literally nothing gets done. At my wits end with it. I'd suggest keeping a log of every single incident, times and description and get in touch with the council or if you can find out who her landlord is. It's shite, especially when you work 45+hours a week and can't even relax in your own home. It feels like I'm paying to listen to someone who doesn't even pay out their own pocket to live there. by Sarpy (Sat 18th Apr 2020 3:56pm)
  • Sorry to hijack your post- But is anyone else band B? I've been paying 145+ a month on my tiny GHA flat in High knightswood/temple for 2 years and feel its way too high for a band B..Or is it normal? This was my first flat so presumed it's normal by Sarpy (Fri 8th May 2020 8:39pm)
  • Is that with the discount? There's 2 of us but even when there was just one I was still paying more than 90 by Sarpy (Mon 11th May 2020 2:25pm)

  • Same experience here, no one in knightswood is wearing them. Not in the shops anyway, I feel like everyone's staring at me when I go in with a mask on by Sarpy (Tue 23rd Jun 2020 3:26pm)
  • I worked in a hotel that used to house the homeless and we had to stop due to all the close calls with stabbings, needles and general fighting and drug use. It was one of the worst times in my life. by Sarpy (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:14pm)
  • Have bus drivers just gave up bothering with masks? Got the #3 today and the amount of junkies getting on with no mask and older folk coming on with either no mask or just covering their mouth.. Driver didn't once mention it by Sarpy (Sat 11th Jul 2020 11:37am)
  • I completely agree, but at least question it as they're getting on. Calling people out on it might push them to wear one by Sarpy (Sat 11th Jul 2020 12:20pm)
  • I've used the veterinary centre on crow road for my rabbits since I was a kid. They've always been really knowledgeable by Sarpy (Fri 17th Jul 2020 10:21pm)
  • First night back to work at my hotel last night (Being forced to work the night shift.) Had a couple of neds walk in pretending they want rooms and they ended up swiping one of the work mobiles when I wasn't looking Thankfully we have pretty clear CCTV of them doing it and of their faces, even though they had masks on. Horrible night. by Sarpy (Sat 18th Jul 2020 9:36am)
  • Have my first ever Facetime interview this afternoon, bricking it as I'm uncomfortable enough on video let alone interviewing over it Finishing a night shift at 7am this morning hasn't helped either Wish me luck! by Sarpy (Mon 27th Jul 2020 11:34am)

  • There's such an oversaturation of hotels in the city. No hotels are reaching their estimated occupancy because there's just so many by Sarpy (Wed 19th Aug 2020 10:23pm)
  • My managers must have just been trying to worry me when they told me that last year haha. I've worked in a few hotels for years and they've always told me there's an oversaturation. Definitely great for jobs, though by Sarpy (Wed 19th Aug 2020 11:01pm)
  • I worked in a hotel that would house the homeless and they made our lives absolutely hell. Stabbings in the reception area, hiding needles under mattresses for housekeeping to find and just so much violence, anger and general drug use. I feel so much for the hotel staff currently putting up with this. by Sarpy (Thu 20th Aug 2020 10:03pm)

  • Been thinking the same recently. Especially with covid. Seeing people going off their nut about not being able to drink as much is quite frightening. Is alcoholism that common and seen as normal here? People getting angry at the government etc and it's just like.. no one's forcing people to go to the pub and to have house parties yet it's somehow the government's fault people can't put lives or common sense ahead of drink by Sarpy (Mon 28th Sep 2020 12:46am)
