  • Terrible shame. I often walk under central station bridge at night getting the train home and it always makes me really sad to see people roughing it under/ around there. If it was drug related, I hope others get the help they need. by Squire1998 (Sun 2nd Feb 2020 7:16pm)
  • Yeah, that's the one. I used to work for the sparky company (who will remain nameless) at the very dead end of Jessie street. I wouldn't say they are shady but they are run by a shower of absolute cunts. by Squire1998 (Sat 8th Feb 2020 7:51am)

  • Why does an ad portrayed via graffiti deserve and more vandalism than a billboard or a poster in a bus stop? I'm not sure what was there before but it looks like crap now. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 9:32am)
  • You're the one moaning about other people moaning on reddit lol. You're literally doing the same thing, only a level deeper. You must have a nice cooshty life to let shit like this bother you. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 9:48am)
  • >Imagine you're in to something so much that you'd go out, break the law and potentially get arrested over it, then that thing gets taken and used to sell something. Do me a favour and apply this logic to any other crime, then hopefully you'll realise how stupid you sound. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 10:02am)
  • Crimes aren't equal but a crime is a crime is a crime. Just because you are passionate about something doesn't give a person the right to go out and do it if it's against the law. Especially if it's something as selfish as putting shitty graffiti over a public wall or a privately commissioned piece of work. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 10:19am)

  • To your deleted message: I apologise. Arguing on reddit really isn't my usual thing. I actually though you were someone else who I had replied to earlier hence my initial snidey tone. We can agree to disagree and be civil and all that pish. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 10:44am)
  • Cool mate, you fucking done me there. You win. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 5:04pm)
  • You've ignored the question and answered something that noone asked. Polar opposites can exist without stepping on each others toes. Scrawling shitty tags anywhere, nevermind over something which has at least a modicum of interest to look at isnt getting one over on the system. It's just being a massive fucking cunt. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 5:00pm)
  • Do you not think theres some hypocrisy in that attitude? I'm presuming you're not living in a self sustaining kibbutz somewhere and actually partake in the capitalist machine to get some of the nice things in life. I'm not saying you cant be sick of ads. I'm the first to admit I hate them but my solution to that isn't to vandalize property like a huge man-child whenever I see something i dont agree with. I feel like people with this attitude just arent living in the real-world. by Squire1998 (Fri 14th Feb 2020 5:19pm)

  • Nah, all is exactly the same as before. No new equipment. Ive been very busy the last few weeks so it's hard to put a definite correlation between the works and my rubbish speeds but that's what I'm leaning towards. by Squire1998 (Sat 7th Mar 2020 4:54pm)
  • To be fair I didnt say it was full speed with the ethernet, only that it was better than the wifi. It's not great with ethernet either. Its slower than what my old wifi speed was. So pretty certain it not any interference. Could be my computer I guess, or the router itself. Thanks for the shout anyway. by Squire1998 (Sat 7th Mar 2020 7:32pm)

  • My Mrs just lost her job today at a prominent Glasgow cafe (as well as the rest of the staff). Tbf they were promised their jobs back when things turned around and the bosses were apparently devastated and handled it as well as they could. They hospitality industry is going to be decimated over the next few months. Going to take years for businesses to recover, if they ever do. The amount of unemployed that will result from this makes me shudder. by Squire1998 (Thu 19th Mar 2020 9:29pm)

  • That one of Celtic's 9 titles (the most recent) is illegitimate as the title was awarded prematurely because the season could not be played out in it's entirety due to the Covid-19 restrictions. The asterisk supposedly denotes this illegitimacy. by Squire1998 (Sat 23rd May 2020 11:29am)

  • Is there a list of these places? Someone very close to me got absolutely burned by Singl-end cafe in Garnethill with their shambolic handling of the furlough scheme. I'm going to make a real effort to never give these business another penny of my money. by Squire1998 (Sun 19th Jul 2020 1:59pm)
  • Christ, I'm starting to think I might have been your neighbour. I had two noise complaints from my upstairs neighbour within a week of each other before we moved out (not a party or anything, just playing my ps4 too loud) and from then on, I only played it with earphones. However, me and my flat mate always made jokes about how it sounded like they walked on their laminate flooring with clogs on. Dont think we ever posted a note though.. by Squire1998 (Fri 31st Jul 2020 12:52pm)

  • Hey OP, I'm a EEE masters student. I'm probably in some of your classes (take it you're doing EE577/977)? Just give Mark Mac (Not my full name but most of it) a shout next time you see me in zoom. I can add you to the discord for a chat or whatever. Must suck being on your own but our wee group of friends would be happy to have you :) I should add that I dont really have much time to actually go out and hang these days due to family/ uni/ covid commitments but down to play the odd game of Among Us or whatever, just to keep you sane. by Squire1998 (Sun 25th Oct 2020 12:15am)

  • Hey OP, if you contact Apex Resources (they are an agency) I'd say there would be a high likelyhood they could find you work. Me and a few friends have worked at one of their clients warehouses out in Baillieston. It's pretty mundane work but okayish money (£330 p/w). I was there for about 3 months before I had to leave to go back to uni and the job felt pretty secure (they were talking about keeping me on permanently before I left). I can PM you the contact details if you want? by Squire1998 (Sun 1st Nov 2020 4:46pm)

  • They are both extremely good universities. Glasgow is definitely more prestigious in general but is that worth an extra £10k? Not in my opinion. I'm doing a engineering Master's degree at Strathclyde now. Most people I know who left after getting their BEng walked into good jobs and basically everyone I know on the MEng already has a job lined up for when we finish. So job prospects are good at Strathclyde for engineering at least. Can't say specifically about CS but I imagine it would be much the same. by Squire1998 (Sun 7th Feb 2021 10:06am)
  • I think a master's can also help with future endeavors like obtaining Chartership. But yeah, purely for getting a job, definitely not necessary. by Squire1998 (Sun 7th Feb 2021 10:11am)

  • I could be completely wrong here but I thought it looked more like a fight v flight reaction where he happened to settle on the former. My initial thought was he was going to get battered anyway so just went for it. Then again, as you say, there's only so much you can take away from a 48-second video clip by Squire1998 (Mon 17th May 2021 4:35am)
  • I lived in Battlefield for a few years and agree it is annoying as hell for able-bodied people, never mind folk with physical disabilities/prams etc. Though I wonder what will happen in these south-side areas with a lot of tenement flats and those narrow side streets cause kerb parking really is unavoidable is some places. by Squire1998 (Mon 17th May 2021 5:53am)
  • Not trying to nitpick but what do you mean exactly? Comparable in what context? If someone says they think Glasgow is a better city than London, Paris or Rome it really depends on what your talking about. In terms of transport? Absolutely, Glasgow is shite - the worst even. In terms of having shitehole areas? I'd much rather live in Govanhill than the worst of Europe's "glamour" cities. by Squire1998 (Tue 18th May 2021 10:07am)
  • I absolutely did not mean to imply that in any way shape or form regarding the immigrant population. These are the people who make Glasgow just as much as I do. Anyway, is it really worth splitting hairs over what the worst area of the city is? Depending on your metric, it might not be the worst but it still is a pretty damn rough area and I think you got the point I was trying to make. by Squire1998 (Tue 18th May 2021 10:45am)
  • Yeah, you're probably right. I'm sure there is an element of people who will forever perpetuate Govanhill in that light due to its association with immigrants. by Squire1998 (Tue 18th May 2021 10:52am)
  • Can I ask what age you are? I'm 32 and live in G52 and was told via both the automated service (and via a phonecall) that I'm not entitled for a vaccination just yet (same story with a friend the same age and in the same area). Whereas a few of my other friends who are the same age, and live outwith those postcodes have been booked in for their vaccines as soon as tomorrow. Feels almost like there is no rhyme or reason to the system they have employed here. by Squire1998 (Thu 20th May 2021 6:29pm)

  • Surely you're not being so obtuse that you don't know that its not the act of singing that's the issue but the content of the songs? Singing about the IRA on public transport doesn't really seem appropriate no matter which way you slice it. Edit: a word by Squire1998 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 10:00am)
  • While it might not seem like a huge deal on the surface (I.e. it's just people singing), I think behaviour like this normalises and reinforces a lot of the sectarian bigotry we have in Glasgow. by Squire1998 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 10:21am)
  • I think any football fan or otherwise who feels it's appropriate to sing about the IRA of UVF or any other designated terrorist group, on public transport, probably shouldn't be allowed on said transport. Do you think that is somehow an unreasonable or radical stance to take? by Squire1998 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 10:26am)
  • Yikes. Well that's me out. by Squire1998 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 10:34am)
  • Do you know exactly how long you were there for? Reason I ask is because I went to the Puregym at silverburn super early the other day (before the red car park was open) so ended up parking in tescos car park for like an hour and a bit. But I noticed the signs warning against staying over a certain period of time. I just disregarded it thinking no chance they will enforce it but now I'm spooked. by Squire1998 (Sun 5th Sep 2021 8:16am)
  • Cheers by Squire1998 (Sun 5th Sep 2021 9:36am)
  • I wouldn't have thought of it either. Considering most movers give a quote on a per job basis and not a fixed price, I'm sure they will always give a quote that makes it worth their while. I'd have thought that would negate the need for a tip. Or maybe I'm just a tight cunt. by Squire1998 (Wed 8th Sep 2021 4:04pm)
  • You're saying that like video evidence has never ever been used to catch someone after the fact. Just because he didn't get a face picture doesn't mean he'll be impossible to find. The stupid cunt almost gave away his home address ffs, he'll be picked up no problem - there's plenty of indirect identification to work with here. by Squire1998 (Tue 14th Sep 2021 6:40pm)

They have a couple at the entrance of Nelson Mandela Square, but there is so much info on them.
