  • There's a place just outside of Cumbernauld that has a warehouse of second hand furniture, but it's been years since I last went there. There is also a place on the corner of Lorne Street and Paisley Road West where I got a leather sofa in good nick for £85. Closed at the moment of course. by StarkyF (Sat 2nd May 2020 8:53pm)
  • Thank you, lol. I could picture the place perfectly, but could not remember the name for the life of me. by StarkyF (Sat 2nd May 2020 9:54pm)
  • Plantation Laundrette (Kinning Park) Open Monday and Friday. They do pickup/dropoff too. by StarkyF (Wed 13th May 2020 6:35pm)
  • I am not particularly happy about a lot of the proposed changes, because it will mean that there will be almost zero disabled parking in the city centre, and I already find it hard enough to get in. by StarkyF (Tue 2nd Jun 2020 8:14am)
  • Ayr is pretty good for that, allows the groups you mentioned into the centre of town, but bars other cars. Sadly GCC decided to make it buses, taxis and deliveries, neglecting to add in disabled drivers when they changed the roads around central station. by StarkyF (Tue 2nd Jun 2020 8:17am)
  • >If people need to drive into the city centre today then things are very seriously wrong on many levels. Yup, those levels being my ankles, my knees, my hips, my lower back, my upper back, shoulders and neck. But hey, let's just make it impossible to park in the middle of the city. Don't get me wrong, I would be completely in support of this plan \*IF\* it took into account the requirements of disabled people to access the city centre too. by StarkyF (Tue 2nd Jun 2020 8:21am)
  • I am not going to hold my breath on GCC taking disabled access into account, I mean they *say* they did when they made the changes around central Station, but I seriously struggle when I need to get there unless I get a taxi, and frankly, given that I need to strip down and rebuild my scooter if I take a taxi, I would rather have the ability to *park my actual own car* in the city centre. If GCC went the same route Ayr did (people with Blue Badges or Mobility cars can drive through bus gates without penalty) I would have literally zero objection. Edit: Also, my scooter does not fit on buses, so that isn't an option by StarkyF (Tue 2nd Jun 2020 12:33pm)
  • The post got deleted, but I was actually offering them, not asking to source them lol. Was a bit confused by the suggestions I was getting lol. by StarkyF (Sat 6th Jun 2020 6:50pm)
  • Just make sure to leave his face mask in place! On that note, I've driven past him a couple of times recently, and really want to get the poor horse a face mask too. by StarkyF (Sun 7th Jun 2020 10:56pm)
  • Pulled [this](https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/noise-nuisance-and-neighbours) up to check the times for you. Looks to be 11pm - 7am are 'Night Hours' in terms of noise complaints. by StarkyF (Sun 7th Jun 2020 10:55pm)
  • apparently I should be off to bed myself lol. My search string was 'Glasgow City noise nuisance times' you'd think the clue to google would've been in the string by StarkyF (Sun 7th Jun 2020 11:03pm)
  • My entirely cheeky and not at all helpful suggestion would be Edinburgh zoo... but covid closed it. by StarkyF (Sun 7th Jun 2020 11:05pm)
  • Hamilton will work just fine once the garage gives me back my car. Thank you! by StarkyF (Sun 28th Jun 2020 2:01pm)
  • Thank you! I'm gutted cause I had a wonderful therapist I was seeing, but she is no longer available at all it seems. So I am grateful for the recommendations. by StarkyF (Sun 28th Jun 2020 5:57pm)
  • I wasn't sure if they were completely shut down, or able to see urgent cases, which is why I was asking around. I may take you up on the suggestion if my normal clinic doesn't manage to survive and reopen. by StarkyF (Mon 29th Jun 2020 12:26pm)
  • Is this going to be under the Computing lecturers? Cause I can give you a somewhat out of date idea of what they were like. I went to Strathy by StarkyF (Sat 11th Jul 2020 1:17am)
  • There are legal steps they would need to take to evict the person. The first step would be a 'notice to quit', which will give them a date to move out by, if/when they don't move out on that date the court has to order an eviction. The thing to check for them though should be whether they can speed up the normal legal process due to the abuse. It might be an idea to get a consultation with a solicitor. Another route might be to call the police every time they are threatened and then use those calls as evidence of the need for a non-harassment order. Check out the Shelter website, it actually has a fair bit of info on it about dealing with abusive family members and sharing living spaces. Obligatory - IANAL, check everything I said here, don't be a fanny warning. by StarkyF (Sun 26th Jul 2020 3:04pm)
  • It sounds like the way to go may be to seek a non-harassment order then. If the abuse is daily, then it will be very easy for them to get the evidence of it happening. The non-harassment order info Shelter has specifically states that it can be used against family members, so that covers this situation. This might also be useful. https://scotland.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/advice_topics/renting_rights/about_your_tenancy_rights/non-tenant_occupiers Good luck by StarkyF (Sun 26th Jul 2020 3:20pm)
  • Yeah, after I dug through several levels of pages on Shelter I found that. From the sounds of it though it is going to take some form of legal intervention to get the person out. by StarkyF (Sun 26th Jul 2020 3:32pm)
  • Thank you, having a look now. The latest one is actually specifically helpful cause I overcooked myself driving yesterday. by StarkyF (Mon 10th Aug 2020 7:55pm)

  • There is a historic village in Wales called St Fagan's I visited once as a kid, and one of the buildings has a bed like that in it. We all took turns trying it out and oooh yes did I want one for ages after. by StarkyF (Thu 4th Mar 2021 10:32pm)
  • I don't know, but if someone comes up with a good option could you ping me. I have about three sets that could do with some love. by StarkyF (Wed 29th Sep 2021 9:50pm)
  • OMG that sounds like exactly what I am after. I was in tears from pain earlier today after cutting out the two front pieces for a (Sherlock Holmes style) coat I am making myself, and still need to get the back, sleeves, mantle etc cut out! DM incoming! by StarkyF (Wed 27th Oct 2021 3:02am)
  • I have just had to sort myself out with a new dentist cause I now need wheelchair access. I just looked up the ones nearest me and called around for an accessible place. Assuming you don't need that just look up the closest place to you and phone them up. by StarkyF (Thu 13th Jan 2022 10:02pm)
  • I like the Amsterdam in/near merchant city. They have a giant saw on the wall under a sign that says 'tattoo removal', good music, dog friendly and amazing dirty fries. by StarkyF (Sat 14th May 2022 12:03pm)
  • I get them on amazon. by StarkyF (Wed 13th Jul 2022 9:45pm)
  • Citi Dental Surgery, Paisley Rd West, just signed up there myself as a new NHS patient. They are about 3 minutes walk from Cessnock underground station. by StarkyF (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 3:11pm)
  • Sugar Skull on Paisley Rd West did mine. It is entirely linework in black with a lot of very fine detail (think complicated bit of knotwork with extra detailing). by StarkyF (Mon 5th Sep 2022 5:09pm)

  • >they only know that they don’t accept ADHD diagnosis and shared care. This is odd because my GP accepted my private ADHD diagnosis and is doing shared care. by StarkyF (Wed 2nd Aug 2023 10:35am)
  • Feck! I have had a shared care agreement with my private ADHD place and NHS GP for a year, do those get kept or will I get shafted? by StarkyF (Thu 28th Sep 2023 3:26pm)
  • My husband did a deep dive on the BBC coverage of private ADHD diagnoses. 1) The journalist who was taking the assessments told the NHS assessor his purpose when asking for the appointment - do you think he sat on a waiting list for 2 years? (He also told them where he wanted the spin on the story to be - ie private bad, NHS good) 2) He DIDN'T tell the private ADHD assesor why he was there, and had been given a script for demonstrating severe ADHD symptoms. 3) The spin of the story was decided before any of the appointments were attended. There was more, I forgot most of it because I was having an ADHD moment, but I am sure I can get him to pop over and fill in the bits I didn't. I am not going to get into the genuinely horrific state of NHS mental health care. It is well known and doesn't need me to inform anyone about it, but given that, instead of barring shared care perhaps the NHS should be working more closely with the private providers. by StarkyF (Thu 28th Sep 2023 3:40pm)
