  • > Partner was previously earning double our current monthly income and paying no council tax due to living on her own and being a student Living on her own and being a student equates to not having to pay council tax. The moment you moved in, the household is liable for council tax. by TheInitialGod (Sun 31st Mar 2019 10:12am)
  • As a manager, I always have time for people who have complaints that are calm and rational about it, and will always go above and beyond to help them when I can. People who scream at my face about something outwith my control can get to fuck. I don't give a shit about their issue and will try to do the bare minimum to resolve it. by TheInitialGod (Sun 31st Mar 2019 10:10am)
  • Fair point. Well spotted. But I'm still correct in that because one of them isn't a student, the household is liable for council tax. by TheInitialGod (Mon 1st Apr 2019 8:13am)

  • I'll counter that with the M77 South from the M8 to Junction 1 during Rush Hour. Folks will barrel right along that left hand lane lane and then barge into traffic right before the split point. by TheInitialGod (Thu 28th Nov 2019 7:29pm)
  • I will laugh the day you get seen pulling this bullshit in front of a cop and he pulls your ass over. by TheInitialGod (Thu 28th Nov 2019 7:38pm)
  • Depends on the situation / outcome. If you slow down to cunt in front of someone, and someone behind you's using the lane correctly, not expecting you to brake and ends up crashing, you'd get done for Lack of Due Care and Attention, or possibly even Dangerous Driving. Edit: Typo. Meant to say cut. Still relevant by TheInitialGod (Thu 28th Nov 2019 8:28pm)
  • My constituency is fairly Pro-Conservative, and it fucking sucks. My MP is like 10yrs old, looks like the Shermanator from American Pie, and sucks up to Boris something rotten. Constituency voted 74% to Remain in the EU, and he's constantly Pro Brexit. Clearly out for himself and not representing his constituency. by TheInitialGod (Thu 5th Dec 2019 6:11pm)

  • Last time I heard it be called a Paki Shop was as recently as a couple of years ago. Went to go buy cleaning supplies for work, and my boss stopped me, said I could get better cheaper mops from the Paki Shop. He was an older guy, retired now. But that comment stuck in my mind as I hadn't heard the cornershops be called that since I grew up in the 90s by TheInitialGod (Wed 10th Jun 2020 6:20am)
  • > There’s no time before which you can make a lot of noise, this is a myth. I had my car stereo playing as I cleaned and washed my car a few years back. Wasn't overly loud, no complaints from neighbours (which I would've acted on if someone approached me). Was about an hour in, almost done, and the police turned up to tell me to pack it in. This was mid afternoon on a weekend. by TheInitialGod (Wed 10th Jun 2020 6:31am)

  • Unlikely that they'll chase you for one £40 fine This being said though, a Dundee woman was made bankrupt because she repeatedly ignored the fines and they took her to court, so it's not exactly unheard of. https://www.scotsman.com/regions/dundee-and-tayside/dundee-parking-fine-woman-declared-bankrupt-ps37000-debts-2466346 by TheInitialGod (Wed 12th Jan 2022 12:13am)

  • If I go back to my original point about there being another year of this, this is the reason. Them working on those pillars on the motorway meant they closed the east bound slip road on to the M8 from Western Approach Rd. Traffic wanting to get on to the M8 from that area now have to go along the expressway and merge at the junction you mention, causing the daily tailbacks. Having a smooth running road on the Kingston Bridge was never a problem until they started working on those pillars. by TheInitialGod (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 9:46pm)

  • Every second day, they come out with an article on how drivers have to be careful or they'll be hit with a massive fine for doing something whilst driving. The list of stuff you're unable to do, off the top of my head, includes having a dirty car, wearing incorrect clothes, saying thank you, failing to keep your car tidy, being dehydrated, *not* wearing sunglasses. **o** It's such bollocks. by TheInitialGod (Fri 19th Aug 2022 7:40am)
  • > and someone called the police LOL. This isn't America. We don't bother the police here with utter bollocks. "She's smoking a joint over there, better shop him to the cops.". "Look at him over there! Loitering. I don't know what he's doing, better call 911". "You just crossed that road incorrectly, I'm calling the police" Na mate. • I guess be glad that it's just the subway that closes early, and not something across the whole country. Like English supermarkets. Always baffled me everytime I visit England that all their larger supermarkets are allowed to open for just 6hrs on Sundays. So typically they're only open 10am to 4pm. I remember coming home from a weekend in England, stopped by Morrisons at Durham on the way for snacks. It was around 5pm, pulled into the car park and it was totally closed. Went to the petrol station shop instead, and asked the guy there "Why is the supermarket closed? It's only 5pm..." and his reply was "ahhh. You must be from Scotland" 😂 by TheInitialGod (Sun 9th Jul 2023 11:27pm)
  • > private parking fines cannot be enforced in Scotland. Unfortunately, you're talking utter bollocks mate. They need to go through the Courts to get money from you, and it may not be in their best interest to do so. But they absolutely have that option. Take it from this lady in Dundee... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-41608064 by TheInitialGod (Fri 4th Aug 2023 9:47am)
  • Hence my point. It might not be in their best interest to chase you for 1 unpaid parking ticket, but it doesn't mean that they legally can't. Which is contrary to what has been said above. by TheInitialGod (Fri 4th Aug 2023 10:46am)

  • One time I lost the hearing in my right ear, and much like your situation here, I found there was a wait to get it seen to. About 2 days in of no hearing, I thought "fuck it" and tried popping my ears, and it worked. Stereo audio achieved again. Have you tried that? by TheInitialGod (Fri 11th Aug 2023 6:52pm)

  • You say they're not enforceable, which is incorrect. They are. Which was the case for that Dundee woman a few years back. She kept getting fines as she thought she didn't have to pay, and they went after her:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-41608064 I very much doubt they will go after you for 1 parking fine. But I guess it depends how petty they are. Saying that they can't is incorrect. It's just that they likely won't, dependent on the circumstances. by TheInitialGod (Sat 9th Sep 2023 10:12pm)
  • Had it about a month ago. I think it's like the third time I've had it, and this was easily the strangest. Was just tired and had a headache. None of this coughing this time round. And I only knew I had it when I saw on the news it was doings the rounds again, so decided to test, and it went positive almost instantly. by TheInitialGod (Sat 16th Sep 2023 9:31am)

Must have recently been drained as it was fine to drive through, but there was a BMW there basically in the middle of the road. Thought he had parked like a total bellend.
