  • Also, Vicky Lewis from TC Young in Edinburgh. Sadly I only know of her because she was brutal to one of my friends going through a custody battle (she represented his ex wife) - but the ex wife won everything, so I guess she must be good at her job. • Fire Fighters are such legends, and shouldn’t have to deal with reprobates like this that can’t control their boozing — when they put their lives in danger every day for work. Dude should be fined for wasting emergency services time. Also the streets are riddled with rubbish today, it’s so sad to see the lack of respect that comes out during any game in Glasgow. by Throwaway070511 (Sun 15th May 2022 7:11am)

  • That I would get an opportunity to study overseas, she knew my best friend was pregnant at the time and she knew it would be a girl (my god daughter) - I didn’t even know she was pregnant when I went to Kizzy, she knew I was talking to two guys and that the one I picked would be trouble and cause chaos (absolute truth, ex husband) but that the other one would come back when the time was right (most recent partner), predicted I would have a severe health scare before turning 30 (had anaphylaxis and almost died), most specific part was that she said an emerald would be significant in my life and I ended up inheriting a rather expensive emerald ring from a distant relative. Told me I would have fertility struggles (truth) and wouldn’t have kids, but told me at the time my twin flame was Irish, and that I would meet him on a bus (that hasn’t happened yet and I couldn’t tell you the last time I was on a bus haha but I do love an Irish accent). She’s had a great reputation in Glasgow for years’ - people used to queue from like 4am outside the Savoy to see her, I would love to know if she’s still there so I could visit and see what’s in store for the next decade! by Throwaway070511 (Sun 22nd May 2022 6:17pm)
  • I mean, surprisingly it wasn’t always a shithole. She had been there for years’ 😂 by Throwaway070511 (Sun 22nd May 2022 6:23pm)
  • She didn’t get anything wrong, still to meet my Irish twin flame on a bus but she said that happens in later life, if I find her - I’ll let you know if that’s still happening ☘️ by Throwaway070511 (Sun 22nd May 2022 6:27pm)

  • LISTERINE! They hate it - we used to dilute some in to a spray bottle and spray it around the area we were camping in (including on the tents) and it’s the only thing that has genuinely kept the wee buggers away by Throwaway070511 (Wed 1st Jun 2022 7:23am)
  • I would take a whole bottle of listerine, assuming you have water as well - and assess the situation once you’re up there. You may have to repeat spray but it definitely kept them at bay for us - we could still see them but they weren’t coming near our tents (we had doused the outer tents in them) by Throwaway070511 (Wed 1st Jun 2022 7:39am)

I googled where to buy one and Amazon have them for about £15. Apparently some birds don’t like wind chimes either. by Throwaway070511 (Sun 19th Jun 2022 11:38pm)
  • Gotta be honest, if I see somebody wearing a mask I think GOOD ON YOU. You clearly care about people around you and health and why would that ever be a bad thing? Also just because it’s not enforced doesn’t mean it isn’t right. My Mum has has long term olfactory nerve damage from Covid and she’s terrified to leave the house because she doesn’t feel safe around people without masks, due to the fact she’s on immunosuppressants. There’s a lot of people on medicine etc that are grateful to you. So wear your mask, you’re not one of the weird ones you’re one of the good ones! by Throwaway070511 (Fri 24th Jun 2022 10:40am)
  • Hey — I’ve been through this process I can offer you some guidance. Somebody above commented about PIRC. They regulate Scottish Police. It’s a waste of time. It’s made up of ex Police officers and what you would be complaining about happens every single day. They’ll just say they’ll use it for organisational learning and then… not learn. If your house has been raided without due cause make sure you take pictures of everything including all the damage and keep receipts of costs incurred. If your wife is traumatised and this has in any way raised her anxiety, make sure she speaks to her Doctor and gets it formally logged. Even better if she gets long term treatment for it or a diagnosis of PTSD. I would be traumatised if the Police broke entry to my home in this nature. For yourself too. Next point of call would be to contact a Personal Injury solicitor, preferably one that specialises in GDPR. How did the Police get your data and how did they use this information to make assumptions about your address? I personally can recommend Thompsons, they may consider doing this on a no win no fee basis. Document everything and make sure everything is backed up professionally. The Police have insurance they can afford to pay compensation for f*****g up. Good luck, feel free to DM if you have any questions. by Throwaway070511 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 12:49pm)
  • You’re welcome If possible make sure you ask for the badge numbers of the Police officers that attended Procurator Fiscal won’t be interested — Police complaints don’t fall under their remit Saw somebody comment below they had laid hands on your wife — absolutely disgraceful behaviour to treat anybody with a disability like this (even if they were suspected of criminal behaviour) Just remember with personal injury the emphasis is on injury, that extends to mental injury and your claim(s) will be higher if you can show this has affected you over a certain period of time Worth noting these things can take a very long time mainly because Police Scotland are about as useful and organised as a chocolate teapot by Throwaway070511 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 12:59pm)

  • Sigh, there’s always one The NHS are through NHS Resolution, it’s slightly different from a standard insurance company but it works in the same way all all NHS trusts are required to have cover in place to pay for any claims Yup - if somebody kicked in my door and dragged me out of bed I would be traumatised Police Scotland hold public liability insurance: https://www.scotland.police.uk/spa-media/e0kjy54p/20-1404-response.pdf by Throwaway070511 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 1:24pm)
  • Exactly — no clue what “maleficent” is on about, I personally sued the shit out of them and it came from their insurance Hope OP gets a big fat pay check, they deserve it by Throwaway070511 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 1:31pm)
  • You’re right I just checked about the NHS so I take that back, but there is a budget put aside. Thanks for the correction Personally I would never sue the NHS Police Scotland different story and different scenario completely: they dragged OP’s disabled wife out of bed intentionally Even if they were there under warrant they could have handled this situation better, OP said above his wife is now “scared and terrified” Unlike the NHS who do have a strict disciplinary procedure I’m yet to see individual officers held accountable — the very fact they work in pairs is so they can back one another up Police Scotland payouts are different and depend on the type of lawsuit / criminal behaviour / compensation claim But if they can use their budget to sit in McDonalds car parks and put on expensive events for the Chief Constable, they can use the budget to pay OP for the inconvenience and personal injury incurred by this situation by Throwaway070511 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 2:07pm)
  • Neverrrrrrrrr I would rather sell my soul to the devil than go in to politics But I am excited if we get Indy Ref 2 — think we need some new blood in Scotland to shake things up and hold the piggies accountable for when they mess up like this No Tories though 🤮 by Throwaway070511 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 2:12pm)

  • IF you come out of custody with injuries or want to make a complaint: 13. Document injuries professionally either at a hospital or a GP. Take photographs. Make sure you have witnesses. These need to be backed up by somebody who is seen to be unbiased. 14. Same applies to damaged property. Take pictures of everything and make sure to get written repair quotes. You may have to pay upfront then later claim this back. 15. The police are essentially unregulated. They investigate their own complaints — often this just gives them the opportunity to cover themselves legally (hence why they work in pairs). 16. Write everything out chronologically and send it to professional standards as a complaint. Expect to get a less than adequate response. The only reason you would do this is to see if they will admit liability. 17. If you feel compelled to, write to your MSP. In my experience as much as I’m pro Independence the SNP MSPs won’t challenge the Police as much as other party MSPs will. If the Tories have any excuse to complain about what they like to call Nicola’s Army they’ll do it. Pretty much the only time the Tories are good for anything is when they get to criticise how the SNP deal with justice. 18. PIRC regulate all complaints against Police Scotland but they are made up mostly of ex police officers. They’ll tell you they will use it for organisational learning then never learn from it. It’s a waste of your time. 19. Journalists usually won’t touch it unless criminal proceedings are finalised. 20. If you’ve been “injured” mentally or physically by the Police the best thing you can do is hire a Personal Injury Solicitor - some of them will work on a no win no fee basis. Although it’s worth noting that a lot of them will only go against the Police if there’s clear evidence of malpractice / false arrest / accountability and if they strongly feel they can win the case. That’s why it’s important that you document your injuries and damage to property! 21. Finally, if you genuinely feel like you’ve been a victim of Police Scotland please don’t give up and fight them on it. They don’t really care if you write a complaint but they do start to notice when they have to pay out compensation claims and this seems to be the only way to channel the corruption. 22. There have been attempts made in the last couple of years’ to regulate them (aka questions around PIRC’s powers were raised in Dame Elish Angiolini’s review report into police complaints handling, investigations and misconduct which can be read here: https://www.gov.scot/publications/independent-review-complaints-handling-investigations-misconduct-issues-relation-policing/ But we have a long way to go, and the current Justice Secretary Keith Brown is completely useless and runs away from most opportunities to address the issues across the court system. He makes Humza Yousaf look good and that’s really saying something. I hope this helps someone! Peace, love, and f**k the Police. by Throwaway070511 (Wed 29th Jun 2022 12:29pm)
  • DELETED It won’t let me post in the main body of the text so I’ll try here: Hi everyone ☺️ I commented on a post yesterday to do with Police Scotland dragging a disabled lady out of bed and bashing in the door of the wrong property and got so many messages from people who had been on the wrong end of them. I couldn’t believe some of the stories people were messaging me (especially about racial profiling) and it made me angry they continue to use the power of the high vis and the stupid hat to take advantage of — at times — vulnerable people. (I’m sure there are a few decent ones who went in to the profession for the right reasons, but in my experience they are corrupt, stinky, unregulated and desensitised pr*cks who will morally and ethically manipulate situations even when they know somebody is innocent. I didn’t see a post like this so I thought as a Law Student and somebody who has successfully sued the Police I would write something here in the eventuality you do end up a victim of the Law. Feel free to add to it if I’ve forgotten anything but there’s certain things (such as No Comment) I feel everyone should be made aware of. IF YOU’RE ASKED TO SPEAK TO THEM: 1. First of all, you may think you’re a witness but they may treat you as a suspect. I cannot stress this enough that the only questions you NEED to answer are your name, date of birth, address and nationality. That’s it. 2. Do not trust them. 3. If they break entry to your house the single best way to defend yourself is to get your camera phone out and start recording. iPhones are good as if you press the buttons on the right and left side simultaneously the phone will lock and you’ll need your passcode to unlock not just Face ID. They behave a little bit better when they know they’re being recorded. 4. LEGALLY NOBODY CAN INSIST ON YOU UNLOCKING YOUR PHONE and the PF rarely issue warrants for personal technology unless in the case of very serious crime. 5. IF you’re getting taken to a Police station and have the option to leave your phone in your house do it. You don’t want them attempting to go through it in the station, or any of your belongings — so if possible I would just take your keys and money to get home. 6. They hate when you film them but often it’s the only way to ensure they don’t abuse their power. They’ll ask you why you’re filming. You don’t need to answer. They are work for us and seeing as they usually work in pairs to back one another up, you can pair up with your phone. And if you ever see them abusing their power publicly or hurting somebody, film it. 7. “NO COMMENT” is your best friend. You are not obligated to answer any questions other than name/dob/address/nationality. You do not look guilty saying No Comment. You’re exercising your rights. They will often ask you lead questions to lure you in to a false sense of security. They’ll be nice to you but remember it’s their job to arrest people much in the same way it’s the job of a salesperson to sell you something. Stay calm. You might get asked 100 questions. Say No Comment 100 times. 8. A criminal lawyer would rather represent you in court with a clean slate “no comment” than have to explain dumb things said during a police interview. 9. Often the Police will have one piece of evidence that may link you to a crime and they are relying on you corroborating that evidence by admitting you were at the crime scene. Say No Comment. 10. You may be asked if you want a duty solicitor. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and end up with one of the best solicitors in Glasgow because they want to stay on the SLAB register. I don’t want to throw shade towards the legal profession but if they’re clocking up extra hours in a Police station because their reputation isn’t good enough to get their own clients….. there’s a chance they’re not a very good lawyer. 11. If anybody wants the names of good Glasgow lawyers I can share along with their specialisms, but I would be weary of using the Duty Solicitors as they can be in cahoots with the Police. 12. Or, if anybody wants to recommend good Glasgow based or Scottish lawyers comment them under this post. 13. You’re entitled to your own solicitor so if you’re naughty then I would memorise the name of a good one that specialises in whatever field of naughtiness you’re involved in. 14. If you can, don’t get arrested or hand yourself in on a Friday as you’ll be in over the weekend. Monday is busy too as you’ve essentially got a double day — but they /should only hold you in custody for 12 hours, extended to 24 in some cases. 15. If you’re arrested they’ll often take DNA samples from you in the form of a swab or fingerprint sample, as well as photos. It’s normal procedure. And it’s kept on their database. 16. If you are taken to court the next day you’ll often be grouped together with a bunch of other naughty people and you’ll wait to appear in front of a Sheriff / Judge. Depending on how you plead, the severity of the crime or your past history you may be let out to go home, or they may keep you in remand. You’ll likely be given bail conditions. The police will check up on you and do spot checks so it’s important you respect the court and adhere to those conditions as you don’t ever want to be charged with contempt of court. The PF don’t look favourably on disrespect. by Throwaway070511 (Wed 29th Jun 2022 12:29pm)

  • Point 4 — only if you’re a suspect. If they kick in your door and they’ve got the wrong house they have no grounds to insist you show them or potentially delete footage. Again based on personal experience. Point 10 — based on personal experience, the solicitor was reported to The Scottish Legal Complaints Commission. Point 11 — how is it offensive to share names of lawyers I know have had very successful outcomes in cases of people I personally know? Maybe you’re just sour you weren’t on that list. Point 15 — PIRC are useless. They won’t get involved until the Police have investigated their own complaints and even then they offer little other than an apology and a waste of time. If they actually had influence over organisational changes, things would change. I don’t claim to be a legal expert, but I do believe people should know the above especially since the post was off the back of the Police kicking in somebody’s door incorrectly and dragging a disabled lady out of bed. by Throwaway070511 (Wed 29th Jun 2022 3:33pm)
  • I’ve never been “naughty” in that sense: I don’t agree with the institution being unregulated and not taking accountability when they mess up. by Throwaway070511 (Wed 29th Jun 2022 3:39pm)
  • How is it callous? OP has already said his wife is very scared and terrified after the incident which would suggest she’s traumatised. • DELETED Also - if I can add I don’t agree with your point about the duty solicitors at all. If they can claim legal aid for advice and court appearance representation are you honestly trying to say none of them ever take advantage of that with the way legal aid is being criticised lately? That they just always offer sound advice that would let their client walk from the Police station never to see them again? by Throwaway070511 (Wed 29th Jun 2022 4:06pm)
  • DELETED Don’t agree based on personal experience and complaints being upheld. We’ll agree to disagree. by Throwaway070511 (Wed 29th Jun 2022 5:14pm)
  • Right I’ve retracted points 10 and 11 as I originally said I didn’t want to throw shade towards the legal profession. I do have experience of being given poor advice which subsequently resulted in a complaint being upheld by the SLCC. So it’s absolutely not ignorance, it’s experience. I went through hell. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with my LLB yet, but thanks. by Throwaway070511 (Wed 29th Jun 2022 5:20pm)

  • There’s a shop round the corner from Roots and Fruits, it’s more of an exotic newsagent (sells spices and stuff) and they have a really good and colourful selection. It’s the road as if you’re turning to go up towards Woodlands by Throwaway070511 (Wed 20th Jul 2022 12:57pm)
  • Thank you! I knew it was something exotic but couldn’t remember the name! 🍏🍎🍐🍊🍋🍌🍉🍇🍓🫐🍒🍑🥭🍍🥥🥝🥑 by Throwaway070511 (Wed 20th Jul 2022 8:38pm)
  • Don’t go with Redpath Bruce whatever you do. We had drug users quite literally move in to our bin area for months — with a sofa and everything, before they eventually put a key pad on the door… but then didn’t tell any of the residents the code so people just leave the rubbish outside the bin area now. The fire service has also given them multiple warnings about waste removal which they don’t listen to… and they still tried to put the factoring costs up by Throwaway070511 (Wed 27th Jul 2022 2:59pm)
  • Could not agree more with this. Especially the bit about being in at 8.30am. It’s also when you’re trying to connect your call up against loads of other people trying to get through - the frustration is real by Throwaway070511 (Wed 27th Jul 2022 3:39pm)

  • You know - sometimes I think the politicians would do well to actually get on Reddit and read some of this type of feedback. Going to draft some of these answers and write to my MSP. Humza was terrible as justice secretary and he’s even worse as health secretary, but what you’re saying makes a LOT of sense. Even beyond surgeries the business rates are unacceptable and just means more empty shop units. Also agree on the educating the public about smoking (keep seeing actual weans with elf bars). I saw what they did in New Zealand about putting up the smoking age each year so the goal is to eventually have a smoke free population and as an ex stoner myself I think it’s genius. Easy to ignore when you’re young but after having covid this week I’m so glad I gave up when I did. Thanks for your feedback and sorry you’ve had to put up with what sounds like a shitshow. Government definitely needs to apologise, clapping did fuck all to solve the problem 🌈 by Throwaway070511 (Wed 27th Jul 2022 7:08pm)
  • Tried Paxlovid but had a negative reaction to it. Ended up with nasal vestibulitis, which then turned in to strep throat and an ear infection — still fighting it off. Not sure there’s any other option! by Throwaway070511 (Wed 27th Jul 2022 10:53pm)
  • I wish I could but it’s the only one within the catchment of G1 I’m allowed to join. The Doctors are also good when you can eventually get a hold of them. From the sounds of things they changed how to book an appt during peak covid, realised it works better for the receptionists and have kept it this way despite multiple complaints about how it’s not working… by Throwaway070511 (Thu 28th Jul 2022 8:42am)

  • Definitely non medically trained. Last time I was there in person waiting to see a Doctor 3 of them were discussing whether blue or purple shampoo gives a better blonde result. Then somebody came in to join the practice and they wouldn’t let her fill in the forms in the waiting area, they asked her to go away and come back. Poor girl was standing outside filling in the form in the rain. by Throwaway070511 (Thu 28th Jul 2022 8:44am)
  • It’s unprofessional when there’s patients both waiting to see a Doctor and join the practice. by Throwaway070511 (Thu 28th Jul 2022 9:47am)
  • I got prednisolone and amoxicillin but more because covid seemed to attack underlying issues — every time I’m sick I get laryngitis, and I ended up with nasal vestibulitis. I was given Paxlovid initially but had a reaction to it. But neither of them have made much of a difference. I did manage to get a hold of the Doctor this morning who gave me a prescription for doxycycline for the throat. Been up the last 4 nights quite literally in tears because it feels like I’ve swallowed glass. I hope it helps but covid is such a horrible vindictive nasty disgusting evil life ruiner of an illness if you’re already immunocompromised. I don’t think there’s much they can do for covid, from my understanding they can more attempt to treat the illness covid is exacerbating. I hope your girlfriend feels better soon. It’s horrible! by Throwaway070511 (Thu 28th Jul 2022 9:45am)
  • In theory I don’t disagree with you, but when you’ve got people all over this sub and on Google reviews complaining specifically about this particular set of unhelpful receptionists from this specific medical practice, you can’t help but feel frustrated. As far as I’m concerned conversations about hair should be kept for the salon. by Throwaway070511 (Thu 28th Jul 2022 2:44pm)

  • I’m so sorry to hear this. There’s nothing worse than your parent - especially your Mama being ill. complaints@ggc.scot.nhs.uk ^ here’s the email address to direct complaints to. Include her CHI number and DOB and the outcome you are seeking from the complaint - for example, seeing a specialist who will give her the care she needs. I would also copy in your MSP to this email. You can find them here: https://www.theyworkforyou.com/msp/ Humza Yousaf is the health secretary. I’ll reserve my personal views on him but his email is Humza.Yousaf.msp@parliament.scot The NHS complaints department aim to investigate the complaints within 20 days and if they don’t respond with a good enough solution you can refer it to the SPSO - Scottish Public Services Ombudsman. I hope this helps. I feel awful for those working for the NHS as there are some genuinely amazing staff who have gone in to it for all the right reasons and continue to graft even when it impacts their own health. It seems the government have driven it to the ground, with the intention of privatising it, but profit should never come before patient care. Wishing your Mum all the healing energy, and take care of yourself too. Please let me know the outcome if you do choose to go down this route ❤️‍🩹 by Throwaway070511 (Thu 11th Aug 2022 9:21pm)

  • At the end of the video I got secondhand terror listening to how scared she was. The guys demeanour when he came back up the stairs and some people think he has a weapon in his hands. She’s replied to say she’s safe but would hate the thought of this being organised crime and happening to somebody else! by Throwaway070511 (Sat 13th Aug 2022 9:48am)

  • She posted an update: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMNsgyeHj/ The “candle” was actually a cup, it’s a pair. The girl sits outside on her balcony and usually drinks out that cup when she’s smoking. For whatever reason this guy has found the other cup (she had left it outside on the veranda) and decided to bring it back up. So he’s been watching her. But he chapped her door and pretended to be Amazon. That’s some mental stalking going on… He went to her door with weird intentions. She’s only 19 bless her. This is so fucked up. She mentions having some questionable exes and wondering if it’s something to do with them. No word as to whether she has contacted the Police 🤷‍♀️ by Throwaway070511 (Sat 13th Aug 2022 7:43pm)
