  • Yeah, it was Ottaker's bookshop. I was a big reader in my childhood and I don't think it was there for very long? Like you say, Waterstone's bought over Ottaker's in 2007 but the shop was gone well before that :( by Tietam (Fri 9th Jul 2021 12:38pm)
  • I've been cycling a lot recently and have seen guys fishing in the Clyde (Glasgow Green) and in the Forth and Clyde canal (just after Kirkie). Do people catch anything there? by Tietam (Fri 9th Jul 2021 12:40pm)

  • They're using the Albion Car Park at Ibrox to hold the vintage cars. by Tietam (Tue 13th Jul 2021 6:16pm)
  • I haven't been buying them online - I go into the shop. The links were included as an example of what I've been purchasing. by Tietam (Fri 16th Jul 2021 9:12pm)
  • Yes, I remember this: primary 1992 to 1999; secondary 1999 to 2005. Not sure when I would have seen it but these kind of things worked wonders with me. Seeing a few people talk about a warehouse - I have vivid memories of going on a school trip (1999 when I was in primary seven) to a building (in Darnley/Pollock, maybe?) with a number of themed rooms that encouraged safety in a number of different scenarios: they had a mock up of a train line in one room; how to cross the road safely in another, etc. They also recorded everyone in the rooms and you could watch yourself back later - I can just remember doing the D-X "suck it" sign to the cameras. Anyone know what group or organisation this was? by Tietam (Wed 28th Jul 2021 10:34am)
  • That wasn't it but I do also remember doing that - thank you for jogging my memory! by Tietam (Wed 28th Jul 2021 1:55pm)
  • I don't think I gave any indication that I hated it? by Tietam (Thu 30th Sep 2021 8:55pm)
  • I didn't give any indication that I hated it the way it currently is, hence why I'd be distraught if they renovated it. by Tietam (Thu 30th Sep 2021 9:01pm)
  • Yes! I was going to post this as well. by Tietam (Fri 1st Oct 2021 12:08am)
  • This might be a daft question, but why are there *some* trains running, eg. the Gourock and Ayr ones? by Tietam (Sun 24th Oct 2021 8:31pm)
  • Thanks! I assumed drivers were striking as well but obviously not? by Tietam (Mon 25th Oct 2021 7:20pm)

  • I flew out of there about five/six years ago to Barcelona. I loved it. I don't see the primary function of airports to provide anything other than a place to fly out from, so the number of shops, restaurants and bars is a complete irrelevance to me. Arrived, through security in literally seconds and onto the plane. From memory, there was one bar open, as was WH Smith's. by Tietam (Fri 29th Jul 2022 4:54pm)
  • I assumed that would have always been the case but if you look at the numbers Glasgow was ahead in the late 00s before Edinburgh pulled away in the 10s. by Tietam (Fri 29th Jul 2022 4:51pm)
  • I think there are lots of reasons that someone would want to live in a tenement. The rooms are spacious, it has high ceilings and there are no noises coming from any other flat. Genuinely the only downside is the layout of my mine/the neighbour's. by Tietam (Mon 22nd Aug 2022 11:16pm)
  • Bit of a side move, this, but can anyone tell me the advantages to the punter of the new "tap-on, tap off" method? I find it a real faff having to remove my wallet and card; press it against the reader in a crowded bus, delaying the queue of people behind me; and hoping that it'll register that I've got off at the right stop - sometimes it doesn't acknowledge your card at all. by Tietam (Sun 30th Oct 2022 7:25pm)
  • The doors were flung out - sorry, should have said! The whole flat was getting refurbished. by Tietam (Sun 30th Oct 2022 9:23pm)
