  • Dunno how true this sentiment because i think most of us tell this to ourselves to make up for shite weather but... you appreciate the good weather way more when it's good. The mood of the city completely alters (in a great way) when the sun's oot. by ambient_tofu (Sat 30th Nov 2019 1:14pm)

  • I've used eBay for years to sell stuff and have had no problem. If you want to be extra safe use tracking when you ship it, that way you have proof it's been delivered. Costs the buyer a bit more but worthwhile if it's rare/expensive/you've got the fear. by ambient_tofu (Tue 21st Jan 2020 4:56pm)

  • Think this is mostly the fault of the design of the cycling path. The divide between cycling and pedestrian is pretty casual so folk just end up on it without paying attention. And let's not forget that it's a no go zone at night on the weekend. I can only hope that eventually with time people will know the score... by ambient_tofu (Wed 4th Mar 2020 2:26pm)

  • I've looked at [adult training on the sectt website](http://www.sectt.org.uk/adulttraining.html) and it's saying >To get started as an Adult Trainee you must be in full time employment with an Electrical Contractor (Electrician), have at least 12 months on site experience and have the support of your employer Which i don't have by ambient_tofu (Thu 6th Jan 2022 11:12am)

  • Hello folks, need some advice with writing a CV. I am applying for electrical apprenticeships, and have some informal experience doing homers with my dad (an actual electrician) over the last ten years essentially being his assistant. It's all been cash in hand, very informal, and sporadic, but i feel it is good experience that is worth mentioning, just unsure about it being so informal. Can I put this on my CV? Or just include it and keep it on my cover letter? If so, how should I go about that? put it in my experience section alongside my previous jobs that I had a contract with? by ambient_tofu (Thu 3rd Mar 2022 3:13pm)
  • Okay good to know to use it. I've got a problem with the dates, since it's been the odd job here and there over the past ten years, so struggling to remember exact dates. Like I've done few projects (some big, some small) a year, but I know there has been a year or two over that time I haven't done any electrical work. How would that work? Also I should have said that my dad used to be an electrician (he's doing something unrelated now) but still takes on electrical work from friends/word of mouth - is that an issue with putting his details down? Sorry if these are daft questions, want to make sure the CV is water tight! by ambient_tofu (Thu 3rd Mar 2022 4:04pm)
