  • Phew. Thanks! Glad to know that. Thanks for your response! by asmodeusvalac (Sat 22nd Aug 2020 1:24pm)
  • Thanks so much that's excellent advice! I did meet him and see the property. I didn't know about the landlord registry but checked and I do find his name on it. Thanks again! by asmodeusvalac (Sat 22nd Aug 2020 1:22pm)
  • A security deposit. A-and I've just paid it and sent him our references. Hopefully will be signing our lease soon. by asmodeusvalac (Sun 23rd Aug 2020 10:06am)
  • One thing you may consider is that living in Paris would be twice as expensive or more. Glasgow is a really cheap city in comparison. I've absolutely loved studying in Glasgow, and I have some friends who have done/are doing post docs in Paris and I hear that though the research is world class, it's a more stressful work environment. Lastly do not underestimate how much knowing french matters in Paris, they are very proud of their language and almost always will prefer to speak in French. Of course when it's something relevant to you they will speak to you in English but there will be plenty of conversations you will feel left out of because it isn't directly relevant to you. If you're planning to study/work for a more than a few years and have enough time to learn the language while you're there you can consider it. But if you're planning on a 1 year master's degree or so then I don't think you should pick Paris as you won't have enough time to learn the language and feel like you belong there. by asmodeusvalac (Mon 4th Jan 2021 10:45am)
  • Cowlairs park feels surprisingly isolated (it's not really maintained so has a wild feel to it too) and not far from city centre. If I had to pick a place that's where I'd go. Don't let it get to ya mate! If you need to talk to someone about uni stress DM me. by asmodeusvalac (Mon 25th Jan 2021 1:02pm)
  • DELETED Hey I suck at basketball but would love to join and get better! Is there somewhere we can play within cycle distance of city centre? by asmodeusvalac (Wed 5th May 2021 3:21pm)
  • Whoops misread it sorry x\_x by asmodeusvalac (Wed 5th May 2021 4:15pm)
  • Paesano is incredible. If you are able to go southside you would find in my opinion the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow - Ranjit's kitchen. Both these places are walk in only. Other good places where you can get a reservation - chaakoo, ramen dayo, Italian kitchen. by asmodeusvalac (Fri 12th Nov 2021 9:27am)
  • Ranjit's for North Indian food. Go get a thali (full meal) or snacks like pakoras, samosas. It's our favourite place in Glasgow. Another good place is chakoo. Rishi's is good for South Indian food like dosas and idlis. Definitely go to Ranjit's if you haven't already! Feels so homely because you can catch glimpses of aunty and uncle cooking in the kitchen and the food tastes amazing and homemade. by asmodeusvalac (Mon 20th Dec 2021 6:18pm)
  • I really like "friends cafe" on high street. They cater to the chinese student population of Strathclyde and their portion sizes are massive and the food is delicious and spicy! by asmodeusvalac (Mon 20th Dec 2021 6:20pm)
  • Good to know! by asmodeusvalac (Tue 21st Dec 2021 11:58pm)
