  • I had the misfortune of working in a pub there last year, no during the market but there was shows and it was an absolute riot by bananaloaflife (Sun 18th Oct 2020 12:51am)
  • I work in a takeaway in the city centre, our landlord absolutely refused to entertain a temporary reduction in rent, the bosses have had to take out £20K in loans over the last few months. They're older folk, they shouldn't have to be dealing with this. I understand the landlord has bills to pay too but surely some rent is better than none. by bananaloaflife (Tue 17th Nov 2020 9:23pm)

  • I start work stupidly early so I'll be fine with off-peak, I'm usually done for 2pm at the latest. I've never really done many classes but tbh the less people I have to interact with the better! I'll have a look at Nuffield cheers, the Giffnock one is ~30mins walk from me so that may be doable too. I'm more into weights than cardio so sounds like it may be good for me, cheers for the recommendation! by bananaloaflife (Fri 26th Mar 2021 3:32pm)
  • Right next door to Shawlands to that would be ideal, totally forgot about there! Cheers! by bananaloaflife (Fri 26th Mar 2021 8:04pm)
  • I've lived in Pollokshaws for 2 years and absolutely love it. Silverburn is half an hours walk away, or less than 10 mins on the bus. 20(ish) minute walk and you're in Shawlands. It's ideal for me, I feel like I'm close enough to take advantage of all the pubs, restaurants etc but far enough away that it's nice and quiet. Aldi being across the road from me is another bonus! by bananaloaflife (Sat 27th Mar 2021 12:20am)
  • Haha that's just down the road from my dads of house, don't know how many times I've been past that! by bananaloaflife (Sat 27th Mar 2021 12:56am)
  • I'd actually pre-registered for the new JD because it was due to open in Auldhouse Retail Park which is literally a 5 mins walk from me, then for some reason it shifted to the Gorbals. Nothing against the area, I'm just relatively new to Glasgow and don't know it at all. I used to go to the Xercise4Less in town because it was a 10 min walk from work and had a wee womens only bit (am self conscious AF, I know everyone's just there to get on with their shit but still, paranoia haha). Think I just miss how convenient that was. Cheers for the heads up about Giffnock! I'll have another look at JD, venture outside my comfort zone! Thanks :) by bananaloaflife (Sun 28th Mar 2021 2:33am)
  • Another recommendation for Catflap, we got our boy from them just over a year ago and he's perfect for us. You get introduced to each cat and get to spend time with them to see who's the best fit for you. Well, that's how it was done pre-Rona. Based in Bearsden. by bananaloaflife (Thu 15th Apr 2021 12:44am)
  • We got our boy from Catflap and can't recommend them enough! by bananaloaflife (Thu 15th Apr 2021 12:42am)
  • I love Gratitude, my bf goes to Mojo (next door to Oro). He used to go to one on Minard Rd but they changed the booking system and he's a moany bastard so he didn't go back. by bananaloaflife (Thu 15th Apr 2021 1:00am)
  • I got a couple of packets of the tonkotsu the other day after your recommendation and ate them both in one go, holy shit they were good! by bananaloaflife (Thu 15th Apr 2021 1:26am)
  • Bit late to the party but the Newlands Cafe on Kilmarnock Road has loads, I made my friend up a big hamper with loads for his Christmas and he was buzzing! Fucked if I can remember what was in it, I just asked the guy for a load of Irish snacks. It's the wee one closest to the station, no the bigger sit-in one. by bananaloaflife (Thu 15th Apr 2021 1:31am)
  • Ailie at Blancolo, I've only had one done by her but it's by far my best, my bf has been going to her for ages. Won't go anywhere else. by bananaloaflife (Thu 15th Apr 2021 1:38am)

  • When I was still living back home I always went to the college for my hair, like you say it's experience for them, and a bargain for you. by bananaloaflife (Sun 4th Jul 2021 3:22pm)
  • That escalated quickly by bananaloaflife (Sun 4th Jul 2021 3:20pm)
  • Also I've lived here for 2 years and had my hair cut maybe 3x, cheers for reminding me about this! by bananaloaflife (Sun 4th Jul 2021 3:40pm)
  • Exactly! Am no fussy about my hair, if they dye it the wrong colour or cut it too short, it'll grow back! And there's less chance of a disaster as there's trainers there as well. I'd rather give someone learning my money than some big name salon who rips the pish by bananaloaflife (Sun 4th Jul 2021 3:39pm)
  • They had these wee veg patty things last time I was in, haven't a clue what they were but by Christ 2 wasn't enough by bananaloaflife (Thu 5th Aug 2021 11:03pm)
  • Hatchet Harry's axe throwing is right next to Central and it's great fun, I enjoyed it way more than I was expecting to! I like Maki and Ramen, Dim Sum, Pizza Punks and NYC for food. Rufus T's, Solid Rock Café or The Pot Still for drinks. by bananaloaflife (Sat 7th Aug 2021 8:24pm)
  • I've just watched it too - I assume she's the one doing the harassing? She looked and sounded seriously unhinged. by bananaloaflife (Sat 7th Aug 2021 9:17pm)

  • I'm with you, I absolutely loathe the cold 😭 I've had Regatta coats the past few years, relatively inexpensive and they last a good few years, def get a waterproof one though! by bananaloaflife (Wed 11th Oct 2023 8:28pm)

  • Aye, I opened the door and immediately said "aw shite". Love the snow if I don't have anywhere to be, but commuting/being anywhere near other people if you're in any other mode than dawdle is hell. by bananaloaflife (Sat 2nd Dec 2023 8:16pm)
