  • I know, that's why I'm wondering if it's more me going slightly insane or them being loud. Tbh there's the odd twist on weight lifting as well, they seem to think it's actually weight"dropping", so every now and then there a massive thump (like dust coming down from the ceiling thump)...... I feel I'm starting to become some sort of curtain twitcher as well now by bouvetisle42 (Tue 21st Apr 2020 11:08am)
  • That's what I thought, it goes on long enough that it starts getting to me, but I bet there's 0 chance they'll be noisy just in time for someone from the council to come along by bouvetisle42 (Tue 21st Apr 2020 11:05am)
  • Yeah I don't think they realise how much noise they make - I wish they'd invest in some headphones though! XD by bouvetisle42 (Tue 21st Apr 2020 11:10am)
  • No worries, totally appreciate where you're coming from - lived in flats for almost 10 years now and I've done my fair share of student halls, so I thought my tolerance for noise was pretty good. I'm trying to find a balance between not being that annoying neighbour and also not going totally insane. I do think it's driving me crazier than it normally would because I'm home all day. by bouvetisle42 (Tue 21st Apr 2020 12:35pm)
  • I'll check them out, thanks! by bouvetisle42 (Wed 12th Aug 2020 4:16pm)

  • Hi! Does anyone know if they also take duvets? by bouvetisle42 (Fri 5th Feb 2021 9:11am)
  • You can take the 77 to partick too and then it's a 10 minute walk to the hydro by bouvetisle42 (Sat 12th Jun 2021 3:11pm)
  • If you're are a small individual it's totally doable, you can definitely catch some sleep especially if you are in an aisle seat. I usually make sure I have something soft I can fold over and use as a pillow, and a designated giant scarf that works well as a blankie in a pinch :) Also depends on how much sleep you normally need, I can't say it is the best night's sleep you'll get but I was always totally functional once we got to Victoria. Much worse if you're on one of the stops in-between, I kept waking up thinking that was it! The one with the beds was definitely the best, but don't get a bottom bunk because the top one is basically a hammock and if whoever is in it is a big guy you're basically in some sort of meat and bus seat sandwich all night. Noise etc. can go either way, I had eerily quiet journeys and others that were very much not, a memorable one with a lady that insisted we talk about onions until like 4am. 100% worth it for the savings though (time&money), and the hassle of dealing with airport security especially for a one day trip. by bouvetisle42 (Tue 20th Jul 2021 8:52am)
  • Thanks for all these very useful replies 😂 I recognize the error of my ways and will get my hands dirty. If anyone needs their door done too just give us a shout! by bouvetisle42 (Tue 11th Jan 2022 12:56pm)
  • Ground floor only - someone projectile vomiting up to a 3rd floor is where I draw the line by bouvetisle42 (Tue 11th Jan 2022 5:19pm)
  • Have you tried asking your uni or the student association? Maybe they have some contacts that can help! by bouvetisle42 (Mon 11th Apr 2022 8:39am)
  • Oh so it's also not long term? If it's over the summer check if you might be able to stay in student halls maybe? by bouvetisle42 (Mon 11th Apr 2022 9:03am)
  • Good shout! I'll look into those too. by bouvetisle42 (Fri 15th Apr 2022 9:07am)
  • Ta - might check in advance before I lug roughly 136 pounds of magazines around 🤣 by bouvetisle42 (Fri 15th Apr 2022 9:07am)
  • Seems they don't 😔 by bouvetisle42 (Fri 15th Apr 2022 1:19pm)
  • Paesano is good only if you like neapolitan style pizza imho nice and soupy in the middle - if you favour a different style then it's pish and for example Cafe Eusebi is more your speed by bouvetisle42 (Fri 10th Feb 2023 1:42pm)
  • I think you can get excused if you have a holiday booked as well? Maybe book something refundable, like a hotel on booking.com as proof. Also, if you do jury duty once they can't call you again - if it's the sheriff's court it's worth going just for that, but if it's the other one that's for like serious criminal offences and might be the ones that drag on for days. by bouvetisle42 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 9:32am)
  • I mean OP did ask for unethical advice 😂 arguably not dumb advice tho so point taken. by bouvetisle42 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 1:28pm)
