  • You make some very valid points about the curriculum and are pretty spot on. I would say composite classes are not necessarily a bad thing in Primary schools. In fact, they are capped at 25 so a child actually has more direct teaching time than those in a straight class of 33. Typically they happen because there aren't enough kids in a stage to make two full classes of 30ish so they might go with 1 class of 30 and one composite class with 15/10. In an ideal world you could run with two straight classes but most schools are physically capped by the rooms available. In secondary schools these combined classes sound quite extreme and I am not sure I would enjoy being taught Higher English with others in the class doing a different subject, the course is difficult enough without additional distractions. Swinney needs to get a grip of reality. by coleymoleyroley (Sun 9th Jun 2019 7:28am)

  • I lived there when the night security was removed. Fire alarm went off every single weekend and we'd all end up in the lobby in our PJs. It got so bad that I just learned to ignore the fire alarm and stay in bed. Also, having your bedroom facing the centre of the building was absolutely shite, constant noise and light! by coleymoleyroley (Sat 15th Jun 2019 9:02am)

  • So did I! The feedback was that the menu was far too large and that the food that did come was on the whole quite bland. I think the drinks are also very expensive for what you are getting and the service did not match the prices. It could just be one bad experience or opening issues but the Herald newspaper food critic said lots of similar things. by coleymoleyroley (Wed 22nd Feb 2023 8:12am)
  • Appreciate your thoughts and the fact that you remembered me! Interesting. My friend did go in the first week so perhaps food has improved, he agrees with you on the price.
