it’s so weird cause when I’m waiting for 4As and they don’t come i feel like everyone knows something I don’t becz usually it’s a anticipated bus everyone gets but no one was waiting for it but me 😂 but I’ll give that site a go too but honestly kinda sick of it w first buses always being like this. hey! ex Muslim here - grew up in religious household but once my father left I was able to leave that surrounding. I’d make sure you interact with the right folk as a lot can be anti Islam and it can create hate towards that religion and culture. for me I embraced my culture and heritage without the religious ideology. I found comfort in talking to other Muslim woman (who are much more liberal leaning) and also non Muslims (or religious people in general who left their religion) a lot of it is due to the environment they were in rather than the religion itself. (I find Islam beautiful but my environment of forcing it made me not want to practise it further) not sure on communities and such im sure the other comments can help but I would just make sure you’re within the right people by colourfulclips (Wed 23rd Aug 2023 7:53pm)

doesn’t seem to be a massive issue but I’m not Jewish. but I lived in Newton Mearns with a large population and dated Jewish people too. I think a lot of Glaswegians are very free Palestine and I think Jewish people mistake criticising Israeli government means anti semitism but it really isn’t. there is more dislike for Muslims I find in Glasgow and as a mixed race Pakistani myself I am very aware of it and people say things directly to me without knowing of my ethnicity by colourfulclips (Fri 25th Aug 2023 1:41pm)

I literally stated that I’m not Jewish to show that I clearly can’t give it as a Jewish perspective… I just lived in a very Jewish populated area and was around Jewish people through being friends and dating such. Obviously we had conversations about such since being from a Muslim family I experience very similar issues to them. I don’t really know who you’re coming across but whenever anyone I’ve been around talk about free Palestine it’s been a very civil conversation without antisemitism…as the conversation isn’t to do with Muslim vs Jews it’s to do with illegally taking land and bad governments. I talk a lot about how Pakistan itself has a very corrupt government (especially at the moment) I’m very vocal about it. I encourage people to learn about it and speak about such because it is important. I’m also very vocal about other Muslim countries that are corrupt - as well as the concentration camps happening in china right now. The same way a lot of my free Palestine Jewish friends talk about these issues. if I was apart of a country that has been illegally taking land from people and with the uprise of right wing ideology in such place I wouldn’t be angry to have people speak about such. It’s a human rights problem I’m not here to debate that w you it’s a topic on itself, I was just replying to OP I am sorry you encounter people who say such. by colourfulclips (Sat 26th Aug 2023 10:29pm)
