  • Just follow your gut. You seem like a good guy, you’ll be alright. Be kind, don’t be a prick. It’ll help if you’re left wing but it’s not necessary if you’re not confrontational by d_chs (Tue 3rd Mar 2020 7:46am)

  • Bloody hell it actually went on for multiple minutes it must’ve been a black market thing by d_chs (Sun 20th Dec 2020 6:51pm)
  • Anyone ordered something from Starbucks in Rutherglen via Uber Eats before? The bags had a very cute note personalised written on each one. Is this normal? It’s just that one of the baristas from when it first opened often stopped to chat with me and I went to school with them so it’s not out of the question that they remembered me by d_chs (Mon 18th Jan 2021 2:45pm)
  • OP, please respond. This is urgent by d_chs (Fri 4th Jun 2021 9:55pm)

  • I wear them, but I don’t have an issue with people that don’t. You do you! if you’re not caught, I didn’t see you. Simple by d_chs (Mon 7th Feb 2022 10:12pm)
  • Fuckin unacceptable man… let’s hope the OP is safe. On what planet is this kind of person allowed to walk around uninhibited? by d_chs (Sat 13th Aug 2022 7:34pm)
  • Legit gonna look into this by d_chs (Sun 21st Aug 2022 2:11pm)
  • I voted curry with one vital caveat… Chinese takeaway gravy beats it out. It has to be from a pure shitey looking greasy Chinese where there’s somehow a wean in the corner doing some sort of school work at all times. Then it’s better than curry. That pitch black gravy with the wee flecks of meat(?) and the mild twang of soy sauce… it’s heaven by d_chs (Sun 21st Aug 2022 2:11pm)
  • Depends on what you’re putting on it but generally crispy. The only time a soft roll is ok is either when there are no good rolls left or if you’re putting a LOT of crispy stuff on it. Like crisps. Then it’s soft. by d_chs (Wed 28th Sep 2022 8:35pm)
  • I know I’m late to this but I spent a lot of time in roll shops growing up… family friend stuff. Sausage is Lorne, links are links. Simple as that. At least in the southside, anyway. by d_chs (Wed 28th Sep 2022 8:40pm)
  • I’m in the same boat as you. I don’t think it’s necessarily the city that’s changed, I think it’s the outlook of the people. Maybe that’s just me. by d_chs (Sun 16th Oct 2022 10:47am)
  • I don’t know if Leo the raver counts but it’s still him by d_chs (Thu 17th Nov 2022 9:43am)

  • This is my problem! They don’t open until 5pm and the reservation is for 5:15 by d_chs (Wed 7th Dec 2022 3:09pm)
  • Up until recently, Abandon Ship was the place to be… shame what happened. I recommend any old man boozers. They’re most likely to leave you alone but sometimes you meet a really interesting geezer and it’s nice by d_chs (Fri 9th Dec 2022 11:13am)
  • Get him a steak pie. Not an Australian meat pie, a Scottish Steak Pie. Puff pastry on top, nothing on the sides or bottom. I’m sure there has to be recipes somewhere online by d_chs (Wed 14th Dec 2022 9:47am)
  • A classic of Glasgow. If you look at the top of the wall closest to the pavement, you can see they’re trying to get you to look something up on youtube. Do it. It’s actually pretty interesting. by d_chs (Tue 27th Dec 2022 11:38am)
  • An independent Scotland, but you’re not supposed to say that by d_chs (Thu 29th Dec 2022 10:40pm)

  • I’m in the southside. I’m pretty sure we can use the river as a barricade by d_chs (Wed 25th Jan 2023 9:26am)
  • Tame insult, I only generally use it with family and friends though. You should be good. Seems like an overreaction. by d_chs (Sun 29th Jan 2023 11:42am)
  • The people. Not that I don’t like people from Edinburgh, but there’s a rugged friendliness to pretty much everyone you meet in Glasgow as long as you’re not an arsehole or wearing football colours. by d_chs (Sun 29th Jan 2023 11:41am)
  • Is the mini tower still shut? by d_chs (Tue 7th Feb 2023 9:09pm)
  • Well, you’re more than welcome back to our sick ass city by d_chs (Wed 8th Feb 2023 10:23am)
  • You want a truly ethical and beautiful way to go about it? Become a critic of the system. If you send them an email explaining exactly what your issues are and that your verdict will be entirely honest but not necessarily reflective of the overall situation (always say shoplifters are innocent as long as they aren’t taking from a small business, be especially critical of any corporate crime etc.) by d_chs (Sat 11th Feb 2023 1:03pm)
  • I mean, I won’t because I can’t ride a bike but I agree with adding person first green infrastructure! by d_chs (Sat 18th Feb 2023 11:37am)

No exceptions. by d_chs (Sat 15th Apr 2023 9:03am)
  • Mini golf. Seriously. It’s fantastic fun by d_chs (Sat 15th Apr 2023 10:36pm)

  • So, it’s very possible they were talking about the marble buffet but they’re blind to any food that isn’t Chinese? by d_chs (Sun 28th May 2023 10:49am)
  • Alright, cheers mate I’ll pass the info along by d_chs (Sun 28th May 2023 10:50am)
  • My actual advice to people who can’t afford to eat out? Learn to cook! Not in a “lazy young folk” way, more in a “it’s cheaper and more fun” way. Hell, grab your friends together and have a budget Come Dine With Me if you miss the company that comes with good food and good folk. I know it’s not ideal but it works while we wait for all this political nonsense to be over with by d_chs (Fri 2nd Jun 2023 11:15am)
  • Here’s an idea, treat the people you work with or above with dignity kindness and respect by d_chs (Thu 8th Jun 2023 6:26pm)
  • Go by Chinese rules. The worse it looks, the better haircut you get. It only steered me wrong once by d_chs (Mon 12th Jun 2023 12:00pm)

  • Speak for yourself, wee man by d_chs (Fri 30th Jun 2023 5:20pm)
  • If you want it to be in the city centre, you’ll need cash. If your friend in Edinburgh has that, fantastic! If not, I would widen your horizons a little by d_chs (Fri 30th Jun 2023 7:01pm)
  • Because the world is full of wee fannies by d_chs (Sun 2nd Jul 2023 7:19pm)
  • If you don’t do it someone will, is my opinion. As late as it might be by d_chs (Tue 11th Jul 2023 7:50pm)
  • Others have it mostly right with the covid job changes but also a lot of the older Taxi companies specifically in Glasgow & the West have been absorbed into GlasGo Cabs and their drivers are stretched extra thin because their system is fucked. TL;DR- try domino cabs if you can get them because Glasgow taxis are being taken over by a monopoly that isn’t even effective by d_chs (Mon 17th Jul 2023 1:41pm)
  • They wanna make it worker owned? Absolutely. Hope it works out for everyone involved by d_chs (Thu 20th Jul 2023 9:35am)
  • If you ask, they’ll usually give you it at least medium… as long as they grind their own beef. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it by d_chs (Sun 23rd Jul 2023 11:52am)
  • Anybody else smell cockcheese or is that just a coincidence by d_chs (Mon 24th Jul 2023 10:36am)
  • She’s a larger dog, but she’s never misbehaved in public and everyone who works there knows her by name. It’s just been an aggressive U-Turn… and why, because she’s got a bit of GSD in her? by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:12am)
  • Seems like the most level headed answer. Appreciate everyone’s input, though! It seems like a coincidence that my local shops have changed so quickly. I’ve been a dog owner all my life and never had an issue. All I wanted was a reason for the change and you sure as hell gave me one. Cheers mate by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:29am)
  • Oh, pubs and cafes have became so much more welcoming! I suppose that’s part of what gave me whiplash when going for a topup and some rolls this morning by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:32am)
  • I don’t really keep up with this sub as closely as others, but it’s a shame either way. She was always given a nice hello and she looked forward to going now and again. Oh well by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:31am)
  • German Shepherd Dog. Normally refers to a working line by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:42am)
  • At my old place where I grew up, that was usually what happened. Folk up and down my street where I am now have always took their dogs in, so assumed that was the norm. It was for almost 4 years up until about 2 weeks ago and after one shop changed the rule, everyone else followed. Seems like we’ve caught up (?) by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:42am)
  • If you could you would by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:49am)
  • I can assure you my dog is perfectly clean at all times. She actually loves a shower. by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:46am)
  • Yeah, I get this. We’ve literally had escaped dogs bolting up and down our street from miles away by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:52am)
  • I’m not endorsing that behaviour, just telling it how it was since before covid. Found it weird that it changed by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:50am)
  • Couldn’t agree more by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:58am)
  • She doesn’t go every day. Twice a month if that but it’s always a quick visit, she says hello to the guy behind the counter and I get a couple of things. I wouldn’t dream of doing a shop with a dog, that’s mad. by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 11:04am)
  • She was always welcomed, as were other local dogs. After seeing the comments, apparently that isn’t common by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 11:07am)
  • It’s gotten worse in the past year or two, I must say that. Certainly isn’t me. by d_chs (Fri 28th Jul 2023 11:22am)

  • Oh, is the Orange walk cool now? Nice! by d_chs (Sun 24th Sep 2023 10:07am)
  • I like the pink. I know people make Glasgow is a silly slogan that folk take the piss out of but it’s a nice colour scheme! by d_chs (Sun 24th Sep 2023 10:11am)
  • Aye! by d_chs (Fri 27th Oct 2023 5:31pm)
  • It’s a wee duck on a wall. Hope this helps! by d_chs (Wed 8th Nov 2023 5:15pm)
