  • Thanks for the advice! Not really American but yeah not from around here :D I definitely agree, its a solid car and anything man made is as good as you treat it, so no doubts there. and yes I was definitely thinking of getting a full toolkit and fixing/changing stuff myself as I am somewhat experienced with maintenance side of things. Thanks allot for the offer though! by darkaiser96 (Wed 13th Jul 2022 8:56pm)
  • It's really hard these days given the economy. I recommend making a list of your expenses e.g Rent Council Tax Groceries Internet Mobile Car Fuel/Travel etc. Take all that out and see how much you have left, you need to make sure this money is spent for the things its meant for. I found it easy to calculate my grocery expenditure by monitoring what I buy on a monthly basis, e.g Tissues, Garbage bags, Food sauces etc. and what stuff I buy weekly e.g milk bread eggs. Keep the receipts and decide a budget, make sure you stick to it. Once you've taken out all that money see how much you're left with from that I'd recommend putting 70%+ aside as savings and the rest for your recreational needs. Once you have a reasonable amount saved (really broad term but depends on what you wanna save for, lets say 3 months salary? ) once that is done you can lower the percentage. Not gonna lie, I'm someone who can't justify paying anything above £60 for trainers, or buying expensive things that I don't need unless I have enough money. I see people wearing Balenciagas and then complaining about not having food to eat at the end of the month, don't be one of those, only spread your feet as far as your blanket goes. The saving you'll put aside for recreational purposes, use that money for these little things that make you happy. I know my advice might seem pretty generic and has a very "do better" sort of tone but times are hard but remember it could always be worse! There's countries with allot less buying power where people are surviving so just be thankful and do your best. Also the little money you save, look into investing it somewhere, real money is always made outside a job. All the very best to you fellow Glaswegian and Human! by darkaiser96 (Thu 18th Aug 2022 11:59pm)
  • I feel for you. I've personally been looking into doing something on the side myself as well to get some sort of financial freedom to avoid being dependent on just my salary. I hope and pray you get a better opportunity and it gets better for all of us! by darkaiser96 (Fri 19th Aug 2022 11:35am)
  • Yeah I understand, therapy is an absolute nightmare and yeah NHS is only helpful when you're absolutely just dying. Yeah I'm sort of the same, don't smoke, don't drink, not even much of a social person and have no friends so that helps. but again I really do hope you find some relaxation or at least the economy does. by darkaiser96 (Fri 19th Aug 2022 12:21pm)
