  • Artist is Kenny Hunter. Did the Citizen Firefighter sculpture at Central too. by glasgowwelder (Sun 12th Jan 2020 10:39pm)
  • Weird that they made such a fuss about it and then came up with this odd recipe that left the caffeine out. by glasgowwelder (Mon 3rd Feb 2020 10:36pm)
  • The heron had a 100% hit rate every couple of minutes. Tiny little fishies so I guess it had to keep on going. by glasgowwelder (Thu 27th May 2021 10:38pm)
  • South west bit of the big pond - next to the gate that goes to the expressway underpass. by glasgowwelder (Fri 28th May 2021 8:52am)
  • I think there’s five of them there just now. One got run over a couple of weeks ago but the others are very active. Not shy either - this one was happy with an audience four or five metres away. by glasgowwelder (Fri 28th May 2021 2:24pm)
  • It’s called ‘The Horn’ and was installed in 1997 by artists Dalziel + Scullion https://dalzielscullion.com/works-entry/the-horn/ As far as I can remember, the placing of it was to be equidistant between Edinburgh and Glasgow. by glasgowwelder (Mon 2nd Aug 2021 3:19pm)
  • Could hear it pretty clear in Scotstoun. by glasgowwelder (Thu 9th Sep 2021 11:14pm)
  • Worth getting in touch with The List now it’s starting to get back into regular production after teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Brian Donaldson is the editor and is approachable. Best way in is to have a read of their coverage, identify a genre or field they’re not covering and offer your services as someone who can fill that hole. Don’t expect to be given anything but sporadic individual commissions for any title you offer to work for. Regular columns are exceptionally rare. by glasgowwelder (Tue 21st Jun 2022 12:13am)
  • No problem. I’m an ex journo - happy to answer any questions if you want to send me a message. by glasgowwelder (Wed 22nd Jun 2022 10:47pm)
  • I reckon a paper like the Glasgow Times would be interested in hearing about this. You wouldn’t have to be named and it might make a difference. Maybe speak with Cat Stewart as this is her field. She’s @LadyCatHT on Twitter and her email address is on her profile. by glasgowwelder (Tue 5th Jul 2022 9:00am)
  • Brilliant - thanks! by glasgowwelder (Thu 11th Aug 2022 3:29pm)
  • Cheers! by glasgowwelder (Sat 13th Aug 2022 8:52am)
  • I worked for GLA airport and the process is that you need to speak with the airline who will likely pass you on to the local Glasgow baggage handling agent. Will be either Swissport or Menzies. Airport can do nothing for you - has to be airline. Once you’re in the system you can then escalate it in relation to lost meds. by glasgowwelder (Sat 24th Dec 2022 12:09am)
  • I’m ok with Kelvingrove Cafe’s pint prices. There’s cheaper if you want it, the place is nice and the staff know what they’re doing. What sticks in my craw is Cottier’s charging the same with zero ambience now they’ve stopped lighting the fireplaces and employing a ‘banging’ DJ at the weekends who can’t read the room, mix or balance his sound levels. by glasgowwelder (Thu 5th Jan 2023 11:53pm)
  • Cheers for that. by glasgowwelder (Tue 11th Jul 2023 4:52pm)
  • Always feel like the staff are on edge here and that it’s just a wee bit up its own arse for what it is. by glasgowwelder (Tue 14th Nov 2023 11:06pm)
