  • The ones on gwr, and the new ones they are building down Clarence drive, which I presume they are planning on extending. It was the Clarence drive ones that weren’t great, though not sure if they’re finished!! by goldjack (Sat 21st Nov 2020 3:39pm)
  • Yes. It was the ones on Clarence drive, which presumably will be the prototype for future ones. We really need more, but it kind of feels like ‘well here’s a cycle lane’ rather than they’ve made a really good cycle lane, if you see what I mean. by goldjack (Sat 21st Nov 2020 3:41pm)
  • Not sure how temporary they are. There’s mini-bollards/big cats eyes bolted into the road at the margin!!! by goldjack (Sat 21st Nov 2020 8:29pm)
  • I think you’re right. Bad cycle lanes are worse than none. As you suggest, the fact that none of them are joined up, means that people who lack confidence on the road aren’t going to use them as they can’t complete their whole journey. This not inspiring any new cycling. Those that do already must be annoyed that they are slower than cycling on the road and will likely infuriate motorists more by not using them! Be interesting to know who they consulted about it.. by goldjack (Sat 21st Nov 2020 8:25pm)
  • I think so, but they will be no match for a determined suv driver on the school run!!! by goldjack (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 11:30am)
  • What type etc? The vibe of your work kind of determines where would work I think. Was at a pop up place in Patrick not long ago that would be ideal. There’s also the Barras art space shop, but don’t know how much commission they charge. All the street art I like tends to be heavy on Instagram etc to build following for selling. by goldjack (Mon 23rd May 2022 11:09pm)
  • Your stuff is great, and looks very marketable to my eyes. I think the notebooks/candles would go down a storm at pop up markets if you could produce them at a price that fits in (Could also look great on reusable canvas shopping bags). I don’t know how many ‘big’ works you’d sell at something like that though ie canvas works, which is where I’d imagine you’d make more money. Congratulations on having a great talent 👌 by goldjack (Mon 23rd May 2022 11:57pm)
  • No problem. You know the reusable canvas bags that you use for grocery shopping? Your flower work for example would look great on those, which was what I thought of when I saw them. Also have you considered setting up on Etsy? Your stuff would fit in there, though I think it would take a lot of work to get noticed there, as it’s very competitive. A shopping bag example off Amazon (this one isn’t great) https://www.amazon.co.uk/EcoRight-Reusable-Grocery-Shopping-Bridesmaids/dp/B09SWD1DMG/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?keywords=canvas%2Btote&qid=1653346987&sr=8-10&th=1&psc=1 by goldjack (Tue 24th May 2022 12:07am)
  • I Don’t really see how that’s a problem. He’s wealthy, but campaigns for social equity. You don’t need to live the life of poverty to know that it isn’t right that people suffer from it in our country. To actively campaign to better this when (according to what you are saying) he doesn’t need to bother and could easily hold completely contrarian views to what he does, says quite a lot. The world would be a much better place if ‘trust fund kids/wealthy people’ acted like him. DOI: not a Labour voter. by goldjack (Thu 26th May 2022 9:06pm)
  • So let’s consider the backgrounds and status before entering politics of the political leaders in Scotland then: NS: upper working class(I’m being generous, sparks make ££) lawyer. PH: university educated, career politician. LS: university educated, energy renewables expert. DR: cunt None of them have established ‘connections’ to the demographic they want to improve things for, but all want to. The assertion that the leader must have lived through poverty to make their opinion on making it better valid is nonsense. by goldjack (Thu 26th May 2022 11:49pm)
  • Charity shops are the way to go money wise, but obviously takes more time than going to a specific store that’s curated used stuff. The charity shops on Byres Road are very expensive, but display stuff nicely. Dumbarton Road through Partick is much better priced. Mix of furniture/home orientated and clothing, but it’s just your luck if you find anything you like. I think it’s more fun. by goldjack (Tue 5th Jul 2022 3:44pm)
  • Cracking balcony to be fair. But anyone paying that price for it, with interest rates where they are right now, and surely some sort of deflation of the property market imminent, would be mental. by goldjack (Fri 24th Mar 2023 11:11pm)
  • Emmaus on Dumbarton Rd (other end from Salvation Army). There’s also a shop called ? Open gates close by worth a look. Good luck!! by goldjack (Tue 6th Jun 2023 1:17pm)
  • This will be amazing!!! Anyone know how to get tickets for the shows before they open to the public?? by goldjack (Thu 15th Jun 2023 8:53am)
  • Yeah. General public admission on Sunday and got a ticket. But it said from today. Wondered if there was any cool stuff going on on the days before general admission that it would be possible to get tickets for. by goldjack (Thu 15th Jun 2023 9:00am)
  • I kind of agree. It is getting worse. Was meeting some friends from down south up for the Banksy exhibition in the city centre and en route saw basically lots of litter, poorly kept streets, and a poor soul who was obviously a homeless drug addict being resuscitated on a pavement by paramedics. It was horrific to look at, and made me feel so incredibly sad we live in a society where people live in tents on the street and come close to dying from drug overdoses. Things really need to change. I’m so proud of Glasgow and Scotland. But it’s difficult to consciously be aware of what’s happening in plain sight on a Sunday evening, and maintain that. by goldjack (Mon 19th Jun 2023 1:19am)

  • Steak tartare is glorious. As is a medium burger. But it has to be created under strict conditions. by goldjack (Sun 23rd Jul 2023 2:08am)
  • Race was brilliant!! Went down to watch a bit. Was at the top of byres road when the main group arrived. You could feel the draft and appreciate how close and skilfully they cycled. by goldjack (Sun 6th Aug 2023 7:37pm)
