  • This looks amazing! Just downloaded it and there’s quite a few places in town with bits left by halliwell24 (Sat 23rd Feb 2019 4:29pm)
  • They’re also on the Too Good to Go app, where you can sign up to get a discounted bag of any stock they have leftover when they’re closing! by halliwell24 (Sat 13th Apr 2019 6:10pm)
  • It’s supposed to be based on the number of stops you’re going, but it really depends on the mood the driver’s in. I’d say 2.40 to be sure but just do card, it’s easier by halliwell24 (Sun 28th Apr 2019 11:14am)
  • And DON’T get mcgills, they’re twice the price and twice as moody by halliwell24 (Sun 28th Apr 2019 11:15am)
  • Think 4 stops is £1.65, then over that is £2.40 but some drivers will let you go further if the route has loads of stops. There’s a stop every two minutes on maryhill road so 1.65 wouldn’t get you very far, so they’ll just ask where you’re going and then make a call on it in their head by halliwell24 (Sun 28th Apr 2019 11:28am)
  • Is this the Pacitti Community Garden next to Panda Hut? by halliwell24 (Thu 23rd May 2019 12:34pm)
  • I hate the rats in Kinning Park. Went out yesterday and there was a big deid one that was... flat. Not as in it had been run over, as in something had eaten the insides. Grim. by halliwell24 (Fri 24th May 2019 8:32pm)
  • I live alone in Kinning Park and pay £475 for a one bed flat. Have done since I was on 18k per year, which was tight but manageable. Bills take me up to about £750, that’s rent, council tax, mobile, WiFi, electricity, gas, TV. Food is then about £150 on top of that. I don’t drive, so you’ll have to factor in insurance, petrol etc. It might be a bit of a shock for you going from £900 to yourself and your car every month to nearer £500, but it’s certainly doable. by halliwell24 (Sun 26th May 2019 7:42pm)
  • Can I ask what area? I’ve left to stay with my folks tonight because I stay on a street they pass but now I’m worried about my flat... by halliwell24 (Sat 6th Jul 2019 1:23pm)
  • How’s the noise from the bridge? I looked at one in that building online last week and could see the motorway bridge from the window, seems like a big drawback? by halliwell24 (Sat 20th Jul 2019 7:25pm)
  • I reported the recycling bins at the other side of that park overflowing and being surrounded by bin bags, and they came and took the extra bin bags away without emptying the bins... by halliwell24 (Thu 19th Sep 2019 11:08am)
  • Tinfoil is a good shout, I have that! Online was recommending peppermint oil which, who just has that lying around?? I can’t get any kind of trap or poison before next weekend due to “essential items” getting priority, but I’m going to go in there tomorrow with tinfoil, bleach and hopefully get a man out on Monday to do something more permanent. by halliwell24 (Sun 12th Apr 2020 1:23am)
  • So it can come back in?? I love animals but it’s not living in here with me by halliwell24 (Sun 12th Apr 2020 10:33am)
  • Council said they’re not sending anyone into homes because of corona and recommended I wait till it’s over... by halliwell24 (Sun 12th Apr 2020 10:31am)
  • I cannot bash something to death Jesus Christ by halliwell24 (Sun 12th Apr 2020 10:47am)
  • Okay so all hardware places were shut but I managed to get pre-baited traps in Asda Govan and now there’s basically a rodent obstacle course in my kitchen. I’ll try and get some steel wool when places are open. by halliwell24 (Sun 12th Apr 2020 3:12pm)
  • That is horrible. My letting agency managed to get the rat man out this week and he says it wasn’t living here, just visiting, and I probably scared it so it won’t be back. Also thankfully said that there was no sign of droppings, pee, scratchings, so seems like I was very lucky (or unlucky) to have walked in right as soon as it had got in. There’s a joiner coming out soon to fill up the hole and I’m on rightmove looking at flats. by halliwell24 (Thu 16th Apr 2020 4:20pm)
  • Yep, had one in my flat (ground floor). Council aren’t sending out pest control to come into houses but they might come out and bait and leave traps in the bin shed as they don’t have to come into contact with people. The private pest control man that came to mine said they’ve been working non stop, restaurants have had tonnes coming in plus lots more in homes because they’re hungry. by halliwell24 (Mon 20th Apr 2020 8:25pm)
  • Etsy, Ivy and the Wolf Shop (or plantsfromivyandthewolf on Insta). They have flytraps but other carnivorous plants too and they always come well packaged. by halliwell24 (Wed 10th Jun 2020 3:55pm)
  • Some places are doing a straight 50% off any amount as an added incentive by halliwell24 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 4:58pm)
  • My friend was getting a piercing there a while back and I decided to go along and get pierced too. I was first and had written down my nickel and latex allergies on the form. Got pierced, then my friend and as we left she told me that before the pierced started on her, they were looking at the packaging on the needles and gloves etc ‘just to remind themselves what’s in it’. Turned out okay but I’d have been an itchy, rejecting mess if they had contained my allergens because they didn’t check beforehand. by halliwell24 (Mon 14th Sep 2020 4:25pm)
  • I’d be happy to help with social media, that’s what I do full time as my day job! by halliwell24 (Sat 21st Nov 2020 12:14pm)
  • I went down earlier but thankfully had such a huge jacket on it’s a bruised arse and bruised ego instead of any breakages. Too scared to go back out to try and salt it to help my neighbours because no one heard me fall the first time. Or maybe they did and laughed and left me, cuz I’m sure it was hilarious. by halliwell24 (Mon 4th Jan 2021 3:59pm)
  • I moved in June, I did have to bin a lot as Shelter wouldn’t collect any furniture themselves and charity shops weren’t open for donations. British Heart Foundation are still doing safe collections I think. The movers wore PPE and had asked me not to touch anything, which suited me to be honest as I didn’t lift a single thing! I then got a taxi to the new place as I wasn’t allowed in the van. by halliwell24 (Wed 6th Jan 2021 11:19am)
  • I had this before and luckily I always locked it, so that when a group of guys came to try and rob my elderly neighbour they couldn’t get in the main door. I put up a note saying basically could we keep it locked as there’s been people coming in, leaving fag ends, empty cans and bottles, plus the safety aspect of attempted break ins, and it was locked much more often after that. Felt weird about the note but I don’t think people leave it unlocked maliciously, just laziness, so asking them to stop isn’t that big a deal. by halliwell24 (Sun 21st Mar 2021 12:49pm)
  • I’ve had the same thing and the woman on the vaccine helpline said that although the health board is meant to contact me in a week, they’re really backed up and so I should wait a couple of weeks to see. Feeling stressed about it given no one seems to know I exist, despite being registered etc. by halliwell24 (Wed 7th Apr 2021 5:18pm)
  • Let It are terrible. Difficult to get a hold of, kept my full deposit after I lived in a flat for five years and kept it pristine. Clyde Property have it in their contracts that they’ll come to your flat every two months and spend ten minutes inside taking photos of everything, with no flexibility on days or times, and they did this through Covid too. by halliwell24 (Thu 15th Apr 2021 9:40am)
  • Clyde Property insisted on doing them through lockdown, even when I complained - they said I could choose to not be in the flat, and they’d just let themselves in with keys. One time I was mid zoom meeting and they came in and leaned over the top of me to photograph the window latch. They told me if I refused they’d just come anyway, and I didn’t want them in my flat when I was out. by halliwell24 (Fri 16th Apr 2021 9:23am)
  • Wondering if you live in my block - a neighbour plays metal/rock music every night 9-3 but their speakers must be bassy as fuck, cuz I can’t really hear any tune, guitar, vocals etc, it’s just the thud of the drums. I keep meaning to go up but I feel like a dick complaining before midnight, and after midnight I’m in my pyjamas and feart to go up in case they’re a nutter.. by halliwell24 (Fri 16th Apr 2021 9:21am)
  • Hopefully someone else will chime in on food banks but I know you can give away opened packets on the Olio app, so if you can’t find a food bank to take it, that’s also an option by halliwell24 (Wed 9th Jun 2021 6:36pm)
  • Red Onion or Bloc? by halliwell24 (Wed 16th Jun 2021 9:05am)
  • I’ve had a horrible time with hay fever so far this year but not found it bad at all today… also had my second vaccine today though so maybe the 5G is blocking the pollen by halliwell24 (Tue 29th Jun 2021 5:57pm)
  • I’ve seen people say you’re meant to phone to book if you’ve had the flu one but it didn’t say that when I was booking so I just said no flu please and it was fine by halliwell24 (Wed 15th Dec 2021 12:37pm)
  • The autumn / winter is the covid booster, and flu, although I’d already paid for a flu jag this year so I just got the covid booster by halliwell24 (Wed 15th Dec 2021 12:35pm)
  • I was wondering the same - the website says put in a brown bin or take to a drop off, but flats don’t have a brown bin and I don’t drive. by halliwell24 (Mon 3rd Jan 2022 11:14am)
  • Yes, and the company doesn’t do pick up. None of them listed it as an offering this year, whereas previously you could pay like £10 or £20 to get them to take it away in Jan. by halliwell24 (Mon 3rd Jan 2022 11:27am)
  • A friend and I went to get pierced there and I told them I had a nickel and latex allergy. Was told that was fine, nothing contained that. Got pierced and then my friend, and she came out and said it was weird, the piercer was examining the packaging for the needles and gloves. Asked why and she went ‘aw I just wondered what they were made of but it’s not nickel so that’s good’. I really recommend Lola at Forest, she did the rest of mine at Forevermore and I’ve been to her new shop at Forest since for jewellery changes. by halliwell24 (Thu 13th Jan 2022 4:05pm)
  • Bold Salon in Merchant City is amazing! They have nails, waxing, hair, lashes, etc by halliwell24 (Thu 1st Sep 2022 7:26am)
  • I got asked for mine and said no as I have work info on there that’s confidential. They said fine, show me it works here ie turns on. Locked it. Left while they replaced the screen and when I came back I unlocked it again so we could both verify it works still. by halliwell24 (Wed 2nd Nov 2022 1:29pm)
  • Can anyone think of somewhere in town I’d get a can of compressed air, for cleaning keyboards and so on? by halliwell24 (Fri 9th Dec 2022 8:48am)
  • Get well soon! by halliwell24 (Sat 31st Dec 2022 1:11pm)
  • Water main burst and has washed away some of the road at Auchenhowie. Fuck knows when they’ll have that fixed, the videos on Twitter are basically a new river. by halliwell24 (Tue 24th Jan 2023 6:26pm)
  • I had minor surgery at this unit a few years ago and had to get the bus past these cunts alone first thing in the morning, holding signs of foetuses and blood, and it was really upsetting. I can’t imagine how it would have felt if I had been there to have an abortion. by halliwell24 (Wed 1st Feb 2023 12:13pm)
