  • πŸ˜ƒThanks though. I think I will like dub too. Haven't been to any events yet. Just about to move to Glasgow so I'll definitely check some things out. Any recommendations on cool dub music? Always happy to discover new awesome music to dance to. by hollyhoneychurch (Mon 3rd Feb 2020 8:52pm)

  • Interesting hey? Bristol and London seem to be the main hubs for dnb. I was at a Bristol event this weekend. Amazing. And such a huge venue. I wonder why it didn't take off. I’m finding a few events around thanks to nice people on here. What would you recommend as a nice starting point for dub? I’m quite into the shiny liquid style dnb so is there an equivalent in dub? Cheers. by hollyhoneychurch (Mon 3rd Feb 2020 9:38pm)

  • Hiya, I've got a podcast! It's not a talking podcast (there's just a lil introduction) but a relaxing, soothing harp podcast for when you want to chill the eff out. I'm recording a song a day at the mo. A challenge for 30 days. Good for tripping out to. Kind of outta body stuff. It's different from classical harp - it's more ethereal, with loads of experimental reverb. Feels like it's really needed at the moment. I'm sending good vibes out to all of Glasgow and beyond. Let's heal the shit out of ourselves and journey into space! www.lateniteharp.com by hollyhoneychurch (Sun 29th Mar 2020 2:03pm)

  • You could try a post office. I'm over in Hyndland and they have a small wifi printer in the back. They also say you can email them and get a few pages printed out ready to collect. There might be something like that by you. Good luck. by hollyhoneychurch (Wed 25th Nov 2020 1:24pm)

  • I've seen lots of people holding hands in the West End. I live in Hyndland and it's calm, quiet and safe. Train station super close by too. It's not too far from everything, lots of families and older people. A well looked after area. Around the Botanics is more in the thick of things with restaurants etc but there are lots of beautiful, tree lined, quiet streets too. The whole area has a great vibe. I moved here last year so I'm new here and I've been out late walking around and it's as calm as anything (maybe the odd night in the summer with happy drunk people singing songs but they usually get told to be quiet : ) I like being close to the centre, only a couple of stops away but haven't made use of this really since lockdown and not being able to go out and about much. Hoping that'll change as I miss being around people, especially friendly Glaswegians : ) Good luck finding somewhere! Hope it all works out for you. by hollyhoneychurch (Fri 19th Feb 2021 1:16pm)
  • Lived in bristol, can confirm it's a shite place to drive. by hollyhoneychurch (Wed 14th Apr 2021 10:54pm)
  • aye, it's edgy (and dirty) af over that way but I know what you mean about it being cool. I loved Motion (love a bit of DnB - great nights there), haven't heard of thekla. Yep, Devon and Bath are great but I actually moved from Devon to Glasgow because up here the pple and the patter are the best in the world. Nothing like it anywhere else : ) by hollyhoneychurch (Thu 15th Apr 2021 9:09pm)
  • Ha brilliant, just looked them up and realised I would never have come across them back then as I used to be vegan : ) Looks juicy. Aha you were in the mid devon area, I was a bit further south in totnes/torquay. Nice place, just so many retired people and not that much happening. Sounds like a cool job to have down there. Must have been a lot of fun. I nearly went on that Thekla boat ha! Twice. But it didn't work out for various reasons. I know where you mean now. It's nice down by the waterfront there, there's a good vibe. My sister, who lives in Stokes Croft had to build a fence to stop homeless pple using her car parking area as a toilet. Yuk. And she's a a social worker so I can only begin to imagine how full on that job is. BUt she chooses to live there, aged 60 odd and loves it. I got out of there after three years and moved into the deep Peak District countryside to detox ha. by hollyhoneychurch (Fri 16th Apr 2021 7:43am)
  • hehe bacon....that used to be my vice too - I'm not so strict these days - I'm more of a veggie now than a full blown vegan. But on my way to becoming veggie I went on a bit of a bender, trying loads of different meat and got through a few rashers of bacon before settling down (had to be burnt to a crisp mind, no chewiness : ) Then, I had a cheeky j one evening and was literally told by some higher power that meat wasn't good for my soul. Weird sheet. So I stopped altogether. Not to mention, like you say, the crazy stats on growing animals. What about Beyond Meat, have you heard about them? Even Richard Branson is investing. by hollyhoneychurch (Fri 16th Apr 2021 4:06pm)
  • maybe I didn't word that so well : ) do you know any who promote musicians? by hollyhoneychurch (Fri 16th Apr 2021 8:20pm)
  • : ) everyone's too quick witted for me in Glasgow (I'm a mere english lass and haven't got the patter skills). Ha. Luckily I'm not paying (it's comes as part of a grant I may be lucky enough to get). I'm no pop star, just wanna share my weird cinematic harp music about a bit - no expectations, too old for that : ) I'll keep looking. Thanks. by hollyhoneychurch (Fri 16th Apr 2021 8:58pm)
  • thanks for your last post - it disappeared off here however. Yes, I do all that, I've got a website and a podcast, I just need a bit of extra help with contacts and press etc When you're a shy harpist you need a bit of direction : ) Go well. Happy Friday! by hollyhoneychurch (Fri 16th Apr 2021 10:03pm)
  • : ) Harpy Friday indeed. Though that could mean a whole other thing! by hollyhoneychurch (Fri 16th Apr 2021 10:18pm)
