  • Hi - if you wouldn’t mind could you PM me the agency too, please? I’m in the same boat and going round the twist! by ilovescones (Mon 16th Aug 2021 5:05pm)
  • Hi - I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but how does that work? Is it only for people with higher budgets? I’m looking for somewhere under £650 and when I contact letting agents they just direct me to their websites/Rightmove. Does it cost money to have them help you more directly? Thank you :) by ilovescones (Mon 16th Aug 2021 7:34pm)
  • I’m paying £450 for a full flat at the moment so £650 seems mad high to me haha. Thank you - that’s really helpful, I’ll go in person and see if I have more joy :) by ilovescones (Mon 16th Aug 2021 9:53pm)
  • If there’s room I’d be interested in this too! by ilovescones (Thu 18th Nov 2021 2:13pm)
  • Think it’s a case of getting on a waitlist at the moment - the one by me is saying it’ll be next year for new NHS patients. Not ideal but if it’s not super urgent get on a list and hopefully it won’t be too long. I just emailed the ones round me. by ilovescones (Wed 24th Nov 2021 11:12am)
  • No - you can only get a mortgage based on the home report. If something sells above the home report (as they all seem to be doing at the moment) you need to make up the difference with cash - on top of the deposit. For people with large gifted deposits from parents this is easier - for everyone else it’s very hard and makes buying a home seem out of reach. by ilovescones (Tue 10th May 2022 8:22pm)
  • It’s a nightmare - I was checking the site multiple times a day for months and then finally got an appointment but it was same day in 2 hours so I was lucky I have a very flexible workplace. Hope you get one soon - just keep trying by ilovescones (Sun 24th Jul 2022 8:49am)

  • Get an electric throw as well as a blanket - I don’t have any heating in my flat and it’s freezing. Got an electric throw for Christmas and it’s amazing, keeps me toasty and cheap to run (relative to full heating) by ilovescones (Sat 27th Aug 2022 8:58pm)
  • Glen Rosa on Arran (https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/arran/glen-rosa.shtml) is a day trip and a combined train ticket is just over £20 - great views from the ferry and the walk is a good mix of landscapes by ilovescones (Tue 13th Sep 2022 8:36pm)
  • Not tenants though - only the owner should pay so in this case it should be the landlord by ilovescones (Wed 19th Apr 2023 11:04am)
  • Cycling round Cumbrae is lovely - train to Largs and then a 10-15min ferry. I went last week and barely saw a soul the whole way round and some lovely views. Bit of a journey to get there but a good day out. by ilovescones (Wed 24th May 2023 5:56pm)
  • I had some lovely strawberries and raspberries from stalks and stems last week and cheaper than tesco etc by ilovescones (Wed 14th Jun 2023 12:37pm)
  • I like the Glad cafe - it’s vegan (I’m not) but I love their potato pizza, it’s so good 🤤 by ilovescones (Wed 5th Jul 2023 10:13pm)
  • Designer Waxing specifically says they wax men and women - I think most salons would. But only do it if you want to - it’s painful, costs money, and will need redoing endlessly - if a guy repeatedly hassled me about my body hair I would reconsider the relationship before signing up to have all my hair ripped out every few weeks! by ilovescones (Thu 6th Jul 2023 9:23pm)

  • I got mine pierced with a hoop and ended up switching it out because it just would not heal. When I got my second helix I went for the straight and it healed much better and quicker by ilovescones (Wed 29th Nov 2023 8:10am)
