  • I am his gf can confirm this haha. You just go to the city chambers with proof of address and you can buy several packs of visitor permits. Had to use that and ringo while I waited for my permit to be processed in the Woodlands last year. by longlivebagpuss (Thu 7th Feb 2019 6:52pm)
  • Some areas of GCC have been Monday - Sunday for quite a long time already (such as the Woodlands). I presume that Finnieston must be the same. by longlivebagpuss (Sun 24th Feb 2019 9:17pm)
  • Great, will keep an eye out for properties of there’s! Haha thanks for the tip, good coincidence that by longlivebagpuss (Wed 22nd May 2019 10:14pm)
  • Thanks for the info :) - I am getting better at moaning when I need to sort things out so maybe I’d be able to manage them ok if they’re being lax by longlivebagpuss (Wed 22nd May 2019 10:16pm)
  • Springburn Park would work well and is very close to Bishopbriggs. by longlivebagpuss (Wed 13th May 2020 7:16pm)
  • There’s a big hill on the road up to the entrance to the park (the entrance by Stobhill hospital) and there’s a few steep hills that I’ve seen people doing hill sprints on in the park when I’ve been doing my daily walks. I think you might be driving past the other side of the park, it’s flatter there. by longlivebagpuss (Wed 13th May 2020 11:28pm)
  • My current letting agent didn’t take the deposit until after they’d accepted our application for the property. However, my last letting agent (KPM) got me to pay a deposit over the phone when I called them straight after viewing the property and expressed interest in renting it. This then went into the deposit protection scheme and became my actual deposit. I think it is quite common practice but don’t know the legality of it. by longlivebagpuss (Sat 27th Feb 2021 11:46pm)
  • Oh and to answer your question about references and credit scores - it really depends on who you’re renting from. The place I rented a few years ago all they asked to see was our bank statements. Whereas my most recent place they used a company to get a reference from your last landlord and your current place of work. They did also check credit score but I think you only need to worry if you have a CCJ. by longlivebagpuss (Sat 27th Feb 2021 11:51pm)
  • I’ve rented with KPM residential and Fineholm Letting. I would avoid living in a KPM property again as I had several problems that they were very unhelpful in dealing with but have had no problems with Fineholm. My partner rented with Zone Letting before we moved in together and didn’t have any problems with them either. by longlivebagpuss (Thu 15th Apr 2021 9:12am)
  • It probably depends on who your actual landlord is as well. I don’t want to get into details about it incase they recognise me and I still might need to get a good reference from them in the future if I move again. I would be careful with them as they became very rude and accusatory once there was a problem that they did not want to take care of. I’m very easy going and would only get in touch with them if it was necessary, so it wasn’t a case of me being a demanding tenant. by longlivebagpuss (Thu 15th Apr 2021 10:21am)

  • Aye it’s different because of covid at the minute. We don’t need to go in unless we are picked in the ballot now. It just doesn’t make it clear when we are finding out the result of the ballot! by longlivebagpuss (Thu 9th Sep 2021 6:24pm)
