  • DM'd you. If it's not claimed, would love to go... by mcdm132_ (Sat 4th Jun 2022 7:01pm)
  • Actually, a quick Google suggests from other shows they might be on stage from 8:50pm. Guess I'm going a little earlier just to be safe. by mcdm132_ (Wed 15th Jun 2022 3:33pm)
  • Haven't seen the times listed yet, I'm planning being there for just before 9pm unless I hear/see anything about them being earlier. by mcdm132_ (Wed 15th Jun 2022 3:31pm)
  • Only supermarket still doing 24 hours is ASDA, Tesco scrapped the 24 hour thing during the first lockdown. ASDA in Govan may be closest. by mcdm132_ (Mon 20th Jun 2022 2:39am)
  • Haven't stopped wearing my face covering when using public transport or in shops, but definitely feel in the minority now. Only had a couple of people comment and was briefly followed up town by a drunk Rangers fan on the afternoon of the euro cup final giving me the "take it off, it's all a hoax" shit. Just keep an eye on the stats at the time of your trip and prep accordingly, but don't let it put a dent in your trip and enjoy! by mcdm132_ (Fri 24th Jun 2022 1:44pm)
  • DELETED I’ve mentioned before but there should probably be a sticky thread for frequently asked questions like this stuff, don’t really get why there isn’t. by mcdm132_ (Sat 25th Jun 2022 8:36am)
  • 10% is considered the standard, 15% if you felt the service was above and beyond. I haven't ate out in a while but heard from friends recently some places add a tip automatically on the receipt as a service charge, something to keep in mind perhaps. by mcdm132_ (Mon 27th Jun 2022 6:17am)
  • A quick Google showed these times for the other tour shows so far, so I imagine they'll be similar if not the same: Doors Open at 4pm Amyl & The Sniffers - 5.20pm - 5.45pm Weezer - 6.05pm - 7.05pm Fall Out Boy - 7.30pm - 8.30pm Green Day - 9pm - 10.30pm by mcdm132_ (Mon 27th Jun 2022 11:07am)
  • Pretty sure it's prescription only. by mcdm132_ (Wed 29th Jun 2022 6:19am)
  • Hahahaha, this post made me laugh. Also, no. by mcdm132_ (Thu 30th Jun 2022 1:38am)
  • Aberdeen had managed to pretty much ban them for 14 years until a lodge managed to have a court side with them that the ban was wrong - and even when they did walk, folks turned out to boo them and such. by mcdm132_ (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 9:19am)
  • Normally it would be next weekend, but because TRNSMT is happening they have to do their shite this weekend instead. by mcdm132_ (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 9:17am)
  • I’m slightly disappointed this comment doesn’t self-destruct in 5 seconds… but that’s probably because I’ve been rewatching the Mission: Impossible movies and that was the first thing that popped into my head reading your comment. 😂 by mcdm132_ (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 9:37am)
  • Hello fellow asexual person! I can answer your first and last questions: yes, and no. As for meeting other asexuals, I haven't met one other asexual person ever so ehh. I'm sure there's others lurking around like... by mcdm132_ (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 12:59pm)
  • No idea if there's been anything recently to change things, I just remember that was the case a few years back. by mcdm132_ (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 12:57pm)
  • Watching YouTube on my Fire stick and EVERY video I've watched so far has had an unskippable ad before it for Scottish Labour with Anas Sarwar saying how "the next election won't be Scotland v England but instead Boris v Britain and Britain is going to win" - almost driving me to pay for YouTube Premium or whatever it is just to avoid seeing him/it again. by mcdm132_ (Tue 5th Jul 2022 2:22pm)
  • u/IrnBruDependant I'm glad you posted this as I've been thinking the same thing myself. This thread has given me some options I hadn't thought of previously, so thanks. by mcdm132_ (Fri 8th Jul 2022 8:46am)
  • Doubt they'd have that info, they'll only have info on the original call log. Also, patient confidentiality will prevent them providing you info even if they did. by mcdm132_ (Sat 9th Jul 2022 5:58am)
  • Not at all a weirdly creepy/poorly worded post... by mcdm132_ (Tue 12th Jul 2022 9:52am)
  • A lot of folk seem to have expected payments today because many of the media reports just said payments were due today, but the Gov.uk site says payments for Universal Credit are due between 14 and 31 July but no actually confirmation seems to be given to people as to when to expect the payments which is pretty bullshit. by mcdm132_ (Thu 14th Jul 2022 12:07pm)
  • Any source for that? Haven't seen that mentioned anywhere. by mcdm132_ (Thu 14th Jul 2022 12:13pm)
  • Any source for that? Haven't seen that mentioned anywhere. by mcdm132_ (Thu 14th Jul 2022 12:13pm)
  • Sure, but that doesn't say anything about a delay like you originally posted. They already said the payments would be staggered as they process them. by mcdm132_ (Thu 14th Jul 2022 12:19pm)
  • No bother, thanks for the reply. by mcdm132_ (Thu 14th Jul 2022 12:17pm)
  • Isn't there a lot of events happening today in the city? Maybe not worth the hassle trying to run while stuff is on. by mcdm132_ (Sat 16th Jul 2022 2:12pm)
  • Never paid the TV license personally (don't use live TV services or that), but found it funny a number of years back when I had to buy a portable aerial for an elderly relative and was asked to fill out my name and address details for licensing so I just stuck down the BBC Broadcasting House details instead. by mcdm132_ (Sat 16th Jul 2022 3:57pm)
  • Don’t have many of the issues you seem to be having, but hate watching a film in the cinema and some arsehole pulls out their phone with the screen on max brightness. Or the fuckers who try to take a pic of the film while it’s on. Totally takes me out of it and really fucking annoying. by mcdm132_ (Tue 19th Jul 2022 3:45pm)
  • Try charity shops for N64 games, I've been lucky and managed to get some good finds in some. by mcdm132_ (Thu 21st Jul 2022 10:01pm)
  • welcome. yes, smoking tobacco in public is allowed, weed and stuff isn't but doesn't stop folks doing it since there's no enforcement. by mcdm132_ (Thu 4th Aug 2022 7:09pm)
  • Antisocial noise hours are considered from 11pm to 7am as per the Antisocial Behaviour etc. (Scotland) Act - not 10pm as many seem to suggest. Neighbour should have expected if someone is moving in there might be a bit of noise but really not much they could say apart from politely ask to keep it to a minimum as a courtesy. by mcdm132_ (Sat 6th Aug 2022 7:46pm)
  • Most places will prioritise football, especially if there’s an SPFL game on. You might need to ask at the bar if they’d switch a TV over. by mcdm132_ (Sat 27th Aug 2022 7:04pm)
  • There's nothing in the mourning plans about departments/workplaces being shut - I'd assume your appointment is still going on. I suspect Edinburgh is probably about to get busy so it's up to you if you wanted to reschedule or such. by mcdm132_ (Thu 8th Sep 2022 7:52pm)
  • MCM isn't running in Glasgow this year. by mcdm132_ (Sat 10th Sep 2022 9:54am)
  • They said last year they weren’t doing an event here. Guessing you found an old listing with dates that never got updated to say it isn’t happening. by mcdm132_ (Sat 10th Sep 2022 2:23pm)
  • BBC 6 Music has still been pretty solid despite the circumstances. by mcdm132_ (Sun 11th Sep 2022 3:27am)
  • From past experience, there may be a queue certainly early in the day. Some folks may have booked appointments that might eliminate much of that. Also, there’s no Apple Store at Silverburn - maybe you were thinking Braehead? by mcdm132_ (Thu 15th Sep 2022 5:17am)
  • BBC doesn’t own YouTube, Google serves the ads. by mcdm132_ (Thu 15th Sep 2022 11:09pm)
  • The owners have applied for demolition apparently. Good if it means the end of greyhound racing. by mcdm132_ (Thu 15th Sep 2022 11:09pm)
  • Found a few Uber drivers lately to be pretty shit for routes and having to navigate them myself. The usual excuse I keep getting is they're following the sat nav on their app. by mcdm132_ (Fri 16th Sep 2022 2:29pm)
  • Thanks, going to take a drive over then. Didn’t want to blindly run over and waste fuel and that. by mcdm132_ (Mon 26th Sep 2022 3:21pm)
  • Checked any other provider to see if they can do a quicker install? Alternatively, check if any of the mobile providers have a decent signal and look into a 30 day data sim? Lastly, might need to bite it and go to a co-working facility or library if you need a proper connection. by mcdm132_ (Wed 28th Sep 2022 11:23am)
  • One for the mods: is there options to add or update the flairs for posts? With the increase of certain topics (housing, generic advice etc) it might be an idea to add new post flairs to help filter etc. Just a thought... by mcdm132_ (Wed 28th Sep 2022 11:27am)
  • r/UKPersonalFinance is probably the best place to ask for advice on this, hope you get it sorted tho. by mcdm132_ (Thu 29th Sep 2022 10:26pm)
  • Folks will suggest Bumble BFF or Meetup, so depending on how confortable you are with those options you may find some folks with similar interests. Alternatively there's a few semi-regular meet ups posted here you could keep an eye out for. Or post a little bit about yourself here and see if someone gets in touch... by mcdm132_ (Mon 3rd Oct 2022 12:53am)
  • Didn't expect to see someone front and center during AEW Dynamite wearing a Partick Thistle shirt - kudos to you whoever you are. by mcdm132_ (Thu 6th Oct 2022 11:29am)
  • Did you type “frankie Boyle new world order tickets” into Google? Literally the first link is the application page for tickets. by mcdm132_ (Sat 22nd Oct 2022 7:20am)

  • FYI this will get deleted by the mods, should be posted on r/glasgowmarket by mcdm132_ (Mon 7th Nov 2022 2:39pm)
  • r/glasgowmarket is the place for buying/selling posts. This will get removed by mods. by mcdm132_ (Tue 15th Nov 2022 8:13pm)
  • Last year? Uh, yeah that phone long gone. Wouldn’t you have been able to track it at the time with Find my iPhone anyway? by mcdm132_ (Wed 16th Nov 2022 3:15am)
  • I heard January/February when I was down at Shawlands the other day, theory is it's being built to replace the Shawlands gym. by mcdm132_ (Tue 22nd Nov 2022 7:41pm)

  • DELETED r/glasgowmarket for selling tickets, can only post free tickets here. by mcdm132_ (Fri 2nd Dec 2022 9:51pm)
  • Flairs are a good measure for now, so thanks for those. Is the wiki/matrix thing popular? i've looked at it a couple of times when things like groups have been suggested but then went to the groups and they've been defunct so it's seemed out of date. donno how closely affiliated it is with the sub, saw someone mention making a discord which i use for other groups and it's pretty good. by mcdm132_ (Wed 7th Dec 2022 3:09am)
  • DELETED Yeah I remember clicking on the Matrix chat thing once and it came up with a page of like six or so apps to access it and it put me right off. Shame there isn't a way to log in using reddit details - would make it easier. by mcdm132_ (Wed 7th Dec 2022 9:30am)
  • DELETED You should have a communual aerial box in the loft - check with your neighbours or factor for the details. If there's owners in the block, one of them should have a key. by mcdm132_ (Wed 7th Dec 2022 3:52pm)
  • DELETED I clicked the link you posted in the previous reply for the Matrix chat - it came up with "choose an app to continue" then gives SIX options: Element, Weechat, Nheko, Quaternion, Fluffychat, Thunderbird. Seems a bit over the top to me. by mcdm132_ (Wed 7th Dec 2022 4:15pm)
  • The amount of folks who post questions that are easily answered via Google is a bit too much tho, like a recent example I saw/responded to was about charity shops in town opened on Sundays. Took 2 secs to type "charity shops glasgow city centre sunday" into Google to get a list. Agreeing with u/cynical_front_bum, there's definately no shortage of folks on here who seem to forget what search engines are... by mcdm132_ (Wed 7th Dec 2022 4:20pm)
  • Check with whoever owns the top flat - generally it's common for them to be responsible for the attic space and thus they should have a key. There's one communual aerial setup in our attic to service the three flats - it also does my Sky signal too. by mcdm132_ (Wed 7th Dec 2022 4:43pm)
  • No, but when I go to Gmail or Outlook or such I just sign in. I don’t get greeted with a page with six different apps to choose from etc right off the bat to allow me access to my emails. by mcdm132_ (Thu 8th Dec 2022 12:50am)
  • Check the post from yesterday asking the same thing. by mcdm132_ (Sat 10th Dec 2022 2:12pm)
  • *obligatory 'i miss g force' comment.* there's not exactly many places to grab new releases these days - shame as i'd like a decent game shop and refuse to shop at GAME as much as possible. i sometimes get lucky with some sites online getting games a day or so early, but haven't ordered much lately given the mail strikes. by mcdm132_ (Sun 11th Dec 2022 5:19pm)
  • i never had any issues myself in terms of pricing outside a couple of imports back in the gamecube era, spent enough to frequently have the £10 off cards fully stamped off etc. by mcdm132_ (Sun 11th Dec 2022 5:53pm)
  • You know it's out Tuesday right? Not as if you've got long to wait. If you have Xbox and buy it digitally you can probably do the New Zealand trick to play it early too. by mcdm132_ (Sun 11th Dec 2022 6:13pm)
  • Wrong place to post selling tickets, r/glasgowmarket for that (free tickets only here, read the sidebar.) by mcdm132_ (Thu 15th Dec 2022 4:37pm)
  • Seriously, the amount of folks who can’t read the sidebar/rules to see that you can’t post tickets for sale here. Posts for sale go on r/glasgowmarket by mcdm132_ (Fri 16th Dec 2022 3:16pm)

  • I've had some friends move to those areas lately for similar reasons and had to wait over 9 months to get a place for kids at the local schools, having to commute close to an hour to take the kids to the old schools before going to their own work, maybe something to note/consider. by mcdm132_ (Thu 29th Dec 2022 10:41pm)
