  • Aye, if you have a look at the link I’ve attached you’ll see what i mean! Something like this or similar! [ball alley](https://www.google.com/search?q=ball+alley+hurling&rlz=1CDGOYI_enGB875GB875&hl=en-GB&prmd=nimv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjkp-PsgMzxAhW_QkEAHao7DmsQ_AUoAnoECAIQAg&biw=414&bih=720#imgrc=OiXGjfBn4tLvHM) by pauljmr1989 (Mon 5th Jul 2021 2:13pm)
  • True. But you have Troon, Ayr and Irvine all within a commutable distance from Glasgow too. Irish guy living in Shawlands here btw😀 also spent 3 years in Edinburgh, much prefer Glasgow. by pauljmr1989 (Mon 5th Jul 2021 11:17pm)

  • Yeah i suppose as a guide, where I’m from in Ireland, you’d get annual membership for 440 euro a year. Obviously moving to a more urban area I’d expect it to be more expensive but anything in the 800-1000 bracket would be too rich for my blood. Thats why i mentioned i had a car, as i would be willing to travel to a more rural club if it worked out cheaper by pauljmr1989 (Sun 18th Jul 2021 10:10am)
  • Thanks for this guys/gals, will do a bit more research but if anyone has any more recommendations it’d be great to hear them. by pauljmr1989 (Sun 18th Jul 2021 10:34am)
  • One side sings about liberation from a occupying power, the other sings about keeping their foot on the throat of an indigenous people. Its hardly coincidental that confederate and Israeli flags are often flown in tandem with the red hand of ulster and British flag ? by pauljmr1989 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 11:09am)
  • Its ok lads ye will all be welcome in the United Nations of Celts. We can even make special provisions to protect your culture ie grants for pallets and discounts on materials for flegs. by pauljmr1989 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 3:32pm)
  • Who’s defending the IRA? No reasonable person thinks what they did was acceptable. The key difference being that loyalist violence was backed by the UK government. Collusion is not illusion. Then again, its almost like if the UK didn’t colonise these places the indigenous peoples wouldn’t have been compelled to take up arms to defend themselves. I must have missed that day in class when they were teaching about Irelands colonial conquests around the globe🧐 by pauljmr1989 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 5:14pm)
  • ‘ Lord Stevens, a former senior British police officer who led three government investigations into the security forces in Northern Ireland, has stated that the British recruited thousands of agents and informants during the Troubles, and that just one of them may be linked to “dozens and dozens” of murders. During his investigations, Stevens and his team arrested 210 paramilitary suspects, of whom, he said, 207 were agents or informants for the British state.‘ by pauljmr1989 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 5:23pm)
  • ‘As the conflict wore on, the British authorities were increasingly tolerant of soldiers in the UDR also being members of loyalist paramilitary groups. An MOD document in 1972 noted that the British should follow a “moderate line towards UDA supporters”. This was described as providing a “safety valve” for extremist tendencies. It suggested that taking a harder line by dismissing members of the UDR for membership of the paramilitary UDA would lead to “widespread morale problems”. Doesn’t sound great does it 😬 by pauljmr1989 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 5:40pm)
  • I’ve already condemned the actions of the IRA. You seem hellbent on justifying loyalist collusion so I think I’ll just leave it there. by pauljmr1989 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 6:27pm)
  • Think its a Scottish problem to be honest. Was in ayr during the week and some young fella had a takeaway, he just took the sandwich out the wrapper and chucked it on the path. This was in broad daylight on a busy street. Seems to be a pervasive attitude that the council will look after it, that its someone else’s problem, that just because he didn’t bother someone else would. by pauljmr1989 (Sun 8th Aug 2021 6:01pm)
  • Or carrying rubbish to a bin, seeing the bin is full, then just leaving the rubbish beside the bin and walking off. Would common sense not dictate that you take it home with you. by pauljmr1989 (Sun 8th Aug 2021 6:16pm)
  • What i see quite commonly is someone with rubbish kneeling down to tie their lace, then stand up and walk off without bringing their rubbish. by pauljmr1989 (Sun 8th Aug 2021 6:15pm)
  • I’ll say one last thing. I drive into kilmarnock every morning, on queen Margaret drive. Every morning, without fail, I look in to the car park at asda and the bins are over flowing and rubbish all over the car park. Some poor soul is out with a brush and bin picking up the remnants of whatever went on the previous night. It’s disgusting, unsightly and it’s endemic throughout Scotland. by pauljmr1989 (Sun 8th Aug 2021 7:23pm)
  • Why not bring it home? Why should other people in shared spaces have to look at your bags of rubbish lying around? And when the bags are inevitably torn open by gulls and the litter is scattered around, who is responsible for it then? by pauljmr1989 (Tue 10th Aug 2021 12:12pm)
