  • I've been with virign for 9 years cause they are the only ones who do fibre to my house. But they have always been decent, good fast speeds and the one time I had problems they fixed it promptly and gave me a new router They also do a refer a friend that's 50 quid towarda your bills. I can send the code if you go for them and need one 🙄 by pinkcoop (Sun 28th Jul 2019 3:11pm)

  • There are a few amateur teams about. Kilmarnock Pirnahs Caledonian Thunder The Warriors Glasgow Mustangs The Mariners Pretty sure they all have a Facebook at least. And more open to people joining than the league teams. by pinkcoop (Sat 3rd Aug 2019 1:19pm)
  • I'm sure you used to be able to sit up the hill and see some. Or at least you would hear it all anyway by pinkcoop (Tue 13th Aug 2019 12:51am)
  • There is trainline app as well. Its good with live upto date info on trains by pinkcoop (Tue 1st Oct 2019 3:12pm)
  • Also we have an ice hockey team if your into that. Glasgow clan. Not exactly NHL but most of the team are from USA/Canada. by pinkcoop (Thu 24th Oct 2019 10:06pm)
  • It's not a main sport here but it has a good following. The rink in Glasgow is only 3,500 capacity but sells out often. And our top league has 10 teams across the UK, some with 8000-9000 watching regularly. I'm biased but Glasgow clan is a good team to watch. Great crowd and atmosphere. So you should defo check it out if you come 😊 can always drop me a message if you make it over. by pinkcoop (Thu 24th Oct 2019 10:22pm)
  • Also, make sure you report it lost to them. Or even better do it online at the police Scotland website. The office can only check their cupboard to see if it was handed in there, and people may have handed on to their own local station. All the property is sent to a central location the next day to be put on a database. So if you report it lost online and then it's handed in anywhere they can get it back to you. by pinkcoop (Wed 30th Oct 2019 12:47pm)
  • Gonna go all Martin Lewis on you all, but right now is a good time to check out comparison sites. The big six all have lowered their prices cause of wholesale costs. Or something. But basically, you can get a new deal even with your same company and much cheaper. I'm with EDF and on the comparison site I'd save £150 a year picking a new tarrif with them. Actually saving £190 a year going to e-on so swapped yesterday. 15p a day cheaper standing charge on both gad an electricity and then cheaper unit rates on both too. So you don't need to go for random small companies to save by pinkcoop (Wed 27th Nov 2019 5:59pm)
  • Wow, according to that map, my street, of all bought/mortgaged semi detached houses, over £100k each, is in a most deprived area. Good Times. by pinkcoop (Thu 19th Dec 2019 2:47am)
  • I second checking out Luss. The Lomond shores bit (where the aquarium is) is OK, with shops etc. But the view of the Loch isn't great. To me it always feels commercialised. There are buses though that then go up the side of Loch Lomond, past Duck Bay and Luss and onwards. The further north you go, the more spectacular the views get. If you want somewhere historic and quirky to eat/stay there is the Drovers Inn. It's a bit dated now, but is still popular for the west Highland way. by pinkcoop (Thu 19th Dec 2019 9:59am)
  • No worries. Obviously don't know what your grand plans are, how long your here, how far you want to go. And what sort of scotland you want to see. Or how much about scotland you already know. But I worked last summer in Argyll and its very pretty. (especially in summer) Inveraray is lovely. Has a nice castle, an old jail, the George Hotel is lovely and does live music at the weekends. I've also done the west Highland way and various munros. And Glencoe is also stunning to see. But may be more tricky, or long bus rides at least to get to. But Google Kings House Hotel or Clachaig Inn. Can recommend both. There is nothing like coming round that road and seeing Buachaille Etive Mòr rising up in front of you. This is all reminding me how much I love my country and need to get out exploring more again. by pinkcoop (Thu 19th Dec 2019 10:23am)

  • Depends when you moved in. Sometimes if it's a part year they add payments in Feb or March to help split the cost. Your new bill for this year should be 10 payments. by pinkcoop (Wed 25th Mar 2020 10:21am)
  • Then that's why you will have paid in Feb. You don't get two 'free' months. They just split the 12 months payments over 10 months. Say you pay £1200 for a full year, you pay 10 x payments of £120. If you move in September you still need to pay Sept-March. 7/12 months. If you only made 5 payments and had your 2 'free' months you be £140 a month, so they add a month's payment to bring the payments down. Plus if you move in Sept chances are you wouldn't even pay that month (cause it takes them forever to bill you) so each payment would be even higher. by pinkcoop (Wed 25th Mar 2020 4:21pm)
  • Most people don't realise that cops can only give a warning about noise at first. It is only if the person fails to desist that they can then fine them and sieze all the noise making equipment. If cops leave and noise starts up again call them back. Regarding the Op I'd just call again, cops should be fining the people or moving them on at least. If different cops come it may be dealt with differently. by pinkcoop (Thu 9th Apr 2020 1:33pm)
  • It was closed for the duration of the common wealth games and it was a bit of a nightmare trying to get places in the west end. Right now it's not so bad because there is not much traffic on the roads. But don't see the need to keep it closed permanently. by pinkcoop (Thu 14th May 2020 10:11am)
  • Yes in a car, which is what I drive at work. And my job involves driving around the west end all day, sometimes with haste required. by pinkcoop (Thu 14th May 2020 8:15pm)
  • Just FYI, all outdoor gyms and playparks with monkey bars are still legally closed. by pinkcoop (Sat 30th May 2020 2:16am)

  • Yeah it would be amazing for the club to be more in control. The petition is by Cally Yorke, he does the Glasgow Clan Live pages and is the owner of Goldstone Wealth, one of the main sponsors. He does a lot for the club as a fan including sorting out the hockey is for everyone banner from playoffs. Clan are obviously trying to go down the professional route so not sure if the I'll share this, but have said for fans to make it know to the owners how important it is. by pinkcoop (Wed 5th May 2021 4:57pm)
  • See I'm mid 30s and Glasgow City, it just came back saying there isn't one in the system for me and now it's passed to team to investigate So now I feel like I've wasted their time as I haven't 'missed my letter' I'd seen this a few places the last few days and couldn't decided whether to do it or not. But after seeing folk on here say its not jumping the queue I though fuck it. I mean I'm frontline emergency services but apparently still no vaccine in sight for me. *sigh* by pinkcoop (Thu 20th May 2021 7:21am)
