  • With term having just started, I think it'll be impossible to avoid the uni crowds. But maybe going somewhere a bit more pricey like Finnieston area might put some students off? by pippypitstop (Mon 19th Sep 2022 10:50am)

  • Not in your area but I went to kids drum classes at Bishopbriggs School of Music as an adult (28f) and they were the best! The teacher was lovely (one-to-one classes) and the admin treated me like one of the kids with free sweets etc. So even though some of the places might be geared towards kids you could still attend/check them out by pippypitstop (Mon 10th Oct 2022 10:35am)

  • I'm English and have been in Glasgow almost 5 years and only ever had 2 not serious incidents when anyone remotely cared I was English. One was being refused entry because 'I was english' according to the bouncer but I got an email apology afterwards and a weird explanation as them being worried about my safety as the football was on (never felt unsafe during the football though) and the other was in an Irish pub and them singing songs and saying 'fuck the English' but they also shut up and apologised once they realised I was English. Otherwise noone seems to care at all! by pippypitstop (Sun 20th Nov 2022 11:43am)

You can appeal against the works if it is "unfair to one or more of them [owners]". You could argue it's an unreasonable amount to pay for a door and it is unfair to expect you to pay that much and send back a few quotes of doors which are significantly less. You can also appeal to the sheriff Court withing 28 days of being informed of the works by pippypitstop (Tue 5th Sep 2023 9:32pm)
  • For those asking if you can smoke there...no. The way the law is set up means that it's easier to get permission for safe injection rooms than smoking 🤷‍♀️. Prof Alex Stevens summarises the law well (he helped write the paper the news article is based on) by pippypitstop (Tue 19th Sep 2023 10:43am)
  • Bishopbriggs mot and tyre centre are always good to me, as a young woman with absolutely no knowledge about cars and trusting them to 'fix the brakes' (apparently there's different parts?!) and other various issues. They also drive it from the garage to the road for me! by pippypitstop (Fri 22nd Sep 2023 9:59pm)
  • I used to work at a Primark and the manager wanted us to keep out and sell jumpers a homeless guy had pissed on...so I don't think the staff mind too much about returns just don't tell them you've worn them. by pippypitstop (Fri 22nd Sep 2023 10:03pm)
