  • uber can be okay at times, but if it gets even slightly busy their fairs go up by like £5-£10 easily, a trip from the town to tollcross can cost you the best part of £25 by puncturedbicycle_ (Sat 16th Oct 2021 10:05pm)
  • “i wasted his time” which i didn’t really, i cancelled the trip so it’s the companies responsibility to tell the driver i cancelled by puncturedbicycle_ (Sat 16th Oct 2021 10:14pm)
  • i let him know, i’d have felt bad leaving him there for me to no show, so i tried to be calm with him and got that in return by puncturedbicycle_ (Sat 16th Oct 2021 10:32pm)
  • yeah in that black cab i got the driver said ever since hampden taxis and glasgow private hire merged the guy that owns it’s heart hasn’t been in the business as it’s went to shit basically by puncturedbicycle_ (Sat 16th Oct 2021 10:31pm)
  • i do console with most of them cause it’s been hard the past while and most of them are really genuine people, it’s just people like who i dealt with that bring the name down by puncturedbicycle_ (Sat 16th Oct 2021 10:35pm)
  • my work is the exact same btw, won’t let me use black cabs cause of the expense, yet moan if i’m half an hour late to the place i’m supposed to be covering in? by puncturedbicycle_ (Sat 16th Oct 2021 10:46pm)

  • seems like a bit of a reoccurring theme by puncturedbicycle_ (Sun 17th Oct 2021 1:57am)
  • i work in mcdonald’s, the problem lies with uber and just eat etc, drivers who can’t speak english, drivers who don’t listen when you call their number, drivers showing up half an hour late for their food, i 100% agree with the cold food shambles. As for missing food as some of you are mentioning, try living in our shoes, yes i know it’s business etc, but when you have 20-30 orders on your screen at one time and you aren’t getting that one portion of medium fries quick enough, sometimes you just have to take a slap on the wrist. by puncturedbicycle_ (Sun 17th Oct 2021 11:06pm)
  • don’t think many people would fancy the walk at 12 on a saturday night tbh😬 by puncturedbicycle_ (Fri 11th Feb 2022 10:07pm)
  • wooft look at you hiding behind a screen calling people things to make you feel better about yourself, that isn’t even the point of the post. by puncturedbicycle_ (Fri 11th Feb 2022 10:47pm)
  • al give you that one that was good😂 by puncturedbicycle_ (Fri 11th Feb 2022 10:53pm)
  • again wasn’t the point of the post if you could piece 2 english words together, it’s about the shit show we’re facing in one of the sectors of public transport, not whether a could get from work to home on a bike ya nutcase by puncturedbicycle_ (Fri 11th Feb 2022 10:52pm)
  • good one mate, now bolt off ma post by puncturedbicycle_ (Fri 11th Feb 2022 10:56pm)
  • it’s bad cause you can’t even get through to there call centre anymore, it’s a shitty automatic voice so what’s the point in even having call centre staff, shambles of a company, the merges are all money based and nothing less by puncturedbicycle_ (Sat 12th Feb 2022 12:13am)
  • this btw, they seem to have such a big deal with taking card payments for some reason by puncturedbicycle_ (Tue 8th Mar 2022 10:21pm)
  • it’s the same with me, i work in the city centre and getting the bus after a saturday backshift is not fun so 9/10 i’ll get a private hire home, specifically putting in the journey notes that i want to pay with card, get to my house and it’s “my card machine doesn’t work” however a driver told me a few months ago that things can go different ways with the drivers refusing to take card (cause they all do have card machines that they have to let you use) this driver told me to ask the driver to phone the base as you have no other means of payment, they’ll either take manual payment over the phone (card details etc) or tell the driver that they need to use their card machine, and somehow it miraculously works after that, look i know it isn’t the way it used to be with taxis where it was all just straight up cash and earnings and a lot of drivers don’t like that but they need to advance and learn that hardly anyone carries cash anymore and card is the most convenient thing in the world, these card machines take a small percentage of whatever the amount is so i always tip that amount so they get the full fare plus whatever change i have in my pocket, again it’s 50/50 as some drivers fully welcome card payment and others have signs in the car that specifically say you can’t pay with card by puncturedbicycle_ (Tue 8th Mar 2022 11:42pm)
  • it is understandable as i said, i do try pay with cash as much as possible (i never pay with my card on the app as it takes £2 extra on top of your fare and “gives you it back” which i’m not 100% sure if it does… by puncturedbicycle_ (Wed 9th Mar 2022 7:30am)
  • you could have got the 240 bus, never really busy, of course the bus isn’t really for everyone i suppose by puncturedbicycle_ (Sun 14th Aug 2022 1:39am)
  • only problem is they’ll only pick you up from the city centre if your going back out east ren way. Not allowed to be picking folk up from glasgow and taking them to other places in glasgow cause of their plates by puncturedbicycle_ (Sun 14th Aug 2022 1:47am)
  • to be fair, you could a always try gett, which is like uber for black hacks, pay with your card on the app, and bosh, no arguments with “card machine isn’t working” i’ve used it a few times and works a treat by puncturedbicycle_ (Sun 14th Aug 2022 1:45am)
  • i point blank refuse to pay 30p to empty my bladder so instead of going to the turnstile i go to the gate and reach my hand round and press the exit button on the opposite side of the wall🤣been caught once and obvs security can’t fully chase you into the toilet so i just sat and took a shit and by the time i was out the lazy bastard was away by puncturedbicycle_ (Sun 25th Sep 2022 9:41am)
  • glasgow fort in easterhouse is having an event with fireworks etc, drumchapel park is having a bonny & fireworks too. by puncturedbicycle_ (Tue 1st Nov 2022 7:31pm)
  • i work security in Glasgow Airport, rarely ever see anything heartwarming but i remember this one time a few years ago there was a japanese couple who were obviously going home from there holidays and another rather old looking scottish couple standing behind them, so anyway the japanese folk get up to my checkpoint and i give it the usual “any sharps weapons or liquids over 100ml will need to go”, the man mutters, liquid?? in a rather apprehensive somber tone, and i say yes, do you have any liquid? and he opens his cabin bag to reveal two bottles of famous grouse and a bottle of glenfiddich, i really did sympathise with the guy as it wouldn’t have been cheap but he was really understanding and he parted ways with his scottish blends, so i take them and he puts the rest of his stuff through and goes away through to duty free way, my break comes 5 mins after and i nip through to duty free to grab a bottle of water, but on my way i notice said japanese couple and said glaswegian couple standing looking at the whiskeys together and the scotsman goes “get a famous grouse and a glenfiddich and i’ll get them for you as a way to remember the hospitality you received in glasgow” i don’t think i’ve ever smiled as much in my now 5 years of working there, a true heartwarmer :) by puncturedbicycle_ (Tue 27th Jun 2023 1:14pm)
  • you should try a place called Boteco de Brazil, fairly cheap beer considering it’s right in the centre of Glasgow, great music and a really good atmosphere, and it’s opened till 3am 7 days a week! by puncturedbicycle_ (Mon 10th Jul 2023 1:29am)
  • when i moved house a few years ago i chucked my dining table and chairs away, put it all in an arnold clark van and took it up to the Queenslie dump in the east end as it’s always quiet, guys are great up there, opened the van and took it all out for me, only paid something stupid like £12 for the van as i only had it an hour. by puncturedbicycle_ (Mon 10th Jul 2023 1:33am)

  • would 100% recommend these guys, used them for a taxi to the airport last saturday night (around 3am) and was shitting it thinking i wouldn’t get a taxi (for obvious reasons being that it was time the clubs were emptying) so pre booked one and our driver turned up 3am on the dot and helped with every single bit of our luggage, these guys don’t have a lot of taxis but i’ll give them their due their a really professional world class company by puncturedbicycle_ (Mon 17th Jul 2023 10:19am)
