  • Yeah cheers, I got the impression they were less popular but still going. Naturally difficult to find any real data on them by rodja_moar (Mon 26th Apr 2021 12:39pm)
  • That was my first thought too, made sense once upon a time perhaps. Wondering whether it’s a tradition or financial literacy thing, or whether folk join them because they want to feel included in a community or something? Anyway, cheers! by rodja_moar (Mon 26th Apr 2021 12:36pm)
  • Wow! This is really interesting stuff, thanks for taking the time to post it. I had imagined that there might be a community aspect to it that made them so popular. Always had a sense of a family/“we’re all in it together” vibe about Glasgow that you don’t get in other cities. Wonder if it’s traditions like this that have instilled that kind of attitude. Thanks again. by rodja_moar (Mon 26th Apr 2021 4:18pm)
  • Dumgoyne and Earls Seat from the Glengoyne distillery is a popular one, or you can do a loop taking in Cort-ma-law and Leckett Hill from Campsie Glen. Both about 6-7 miles with a couple thousand feet of climb, so nothing too ridiculous. by rodja_moar (Wed 5th May 2021 1:06pm)

  • R-CADE down near Glasgow Green has a selection of board games as well as retro N64/SNES etc games. Only been a couple of times but liked the place - not the most extensive collection of board games but the staff seem friendly and it’s really chilled. by rodja_moar (Thu 7th Oct 2021 6:16pm)
