  • Hahah this honestly made me laugh, I get it by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 12th Jun 2022 11:09pm)
  • You are right in what you’re saying and it helps when people bring awareness to it, I appreciate you! When people say stuff like that in person it’s a proper eye roll moment, but what I heard from this comment is “I really want to see this artist I love” but in a funny way! It’s definitely situational. by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 12th Jun 2022 11:12pm)
  • Wow that is super kind of you and feel quite emotional that you would offer! Unfortunately I live a few hours away from Glasgow and wouldn’t be able to get there independently. I really do appreciate your kindness though, it makes a difference by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 12th Jun 2022 11:16pm)
  • Aw thank you :) haha I’ll try! Hope it doesn’t keep you up by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 25th Jun 2023 7:24pm)

  • Thanks so much for letting me know :) that’s really helpful, and reassuring! by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 25th Jun 2023 7:27pm)
  • That’s good then :) I did assume but assuming disabled access hasn’t always worked out well for me in the past by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 25th Jun 2023 7:26pm)
  • I agree! 24 page document and it didn’t mention it so I didn’t want to assume by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 25th Jun 2023 11:56pm)
  • I’m so sorry for your loss, your grief is palpable and your love shines through it. You would have brought such warmth and comfort to her in dark times. Therapy is becoming more acceptable but I think, particularly for people who grew up in schemes, it’s seen as something only for people who are severely mentally ill and is often dismissed quickly. Everyone can benefit from therapy, it would be great if it was accessible like the GP or the dentist. There are charities in most cities that provide counselling free of charge but it’s usually specific groups (addiction, abuse survivors, carers), but private therapy (due to its frequency) isn’t very affordable for a lot of people. by shepherdofthewolf (Mon 26th Jun 2023 8:34pm)
  • Hi I’m a counselling psychotherapist, I always love it when clients come in and say what they want and don’t want! For example- “I don’t want you to just sit and listen, I want to move forward, I feel stuck”. If you can share any feelings that’s always really helpful. A first counselling session is usually a bit different to a typical session, you’ll cover confidentiality, scheduling, and discuss goals for therapy. As they are a charity they will likely only be able to provide between 6 and 12 sessions, it’s good to talk about what you’d hope to get out of that and they can tell you in what ways they can help. Just having a space where it’s just about you can be really helpful too, an hour a week to focus on yourself and have that ally in a professional therapist. I hope you click with this therapist and find it helpful :) by shepherdofthewolf (Tue 27th Jun 2023 11:59pm)
  • There’s a technique frequently used in therapy called “the downward arrow technique” and you can absolutely start with that (to make it stop/ go away) and it would be really helpful to explore with this technique. Your therapist will be doing equal parts work and will understand the first session can be anxiety-provoking by shepherdofthewolf (Wed 28th Jun 2023 12:04am)
  • Aw thank you! :) it’s probably not as random as I originally thought it was all those years ago when I joined reddit! by shepherdofthewolf (Wed 28th Jun 2023 1:43am)
  • Happy to help :). That would be a good area to discuss tomorrow, what you feel is missing from the weekly therapy and how MM could meet those needs, and also what you guys have been working on so you get the most of these new sessions. It’s not always advisable to see two therapists at once unless they have very different approaches (i.e., an EMDR therapist and a CBT therapist) there are some articles online that discuss that more and might help you navigate it, but therapy is also not very affordable and it makes a lot of sense why you are looking at having two. There’s lots of hope here :) by shepherdofthewolf (Wed 28th Jun 2023 1:40am)
  • Definitely! I missed a LOT of school due to illness and thought I was stupid, I didn’t sit any exams so left school with nothing. I loved college and ended up with two degrees and a lost grad after it! You have so many skills you haven’t discovered yet, do it for you :) by shepherdofthewolf (Wed 12th Jul 2023 12:22pm)
  • It’s an amazing venue honestly, I go to gigs there a lot and it’s my favourite venue to see bands. Always great energy, incredible shows, staff are great too if you need them! by shepherdofthewolf (Wed 9th Aug 2023 7:05am)
  • I think it’s got a great atmosphere! Especially at gigs like Kings of Leon, Florence and The Machine, Imagine Dragons, Metallica... I’m actually surprised people don’t like it! It maybe depends where you sit but it’s my favourite venue, and everyone I’ve been with absolutely loves it too by shepherdofthewolf (Wed 9th Aug 2023 10:26am)
  • I got jumped in Dundee by about ten 13/14 year olds (some younger), they climbed on me, proper laid in to me, and ran off. It was just round from my house. Sometimes kids are just wee shits. This happened in the West end bordering on some schemes. Weirdly I now live near a rougher area and the kids have always been polite and kind to me! I hope you’re ok after that by shepherdofthewolf (Sun 10th Sep 2023 11:22pm)
  • I wish this was more well known! The research is really encouraging as both a preventative and treatment. It’s stuff we can all pick up easily from boots or the shops, I’ve got the nasal spray and mouthwash in my medicine box now. [Link to one study about the nasal spray](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8493111/) and [the mouthwash](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-022-18367-6) by shepherdofthewolf (Sat 16th Sep 2023 3:34pm)
  • If you don’t have a visible disability I probably wouldn’t risk it, it was bought as a wheelchair user seat and these are a different selection from accessible tickets. Sorry! by shepherdofthewolf (Wed 8th Nov 2023 10:35pm)
  • My worry is that there are two types of tickets, ones specifically for wheelchair users, and ones for people with any disability, and I bought a specific wheelchair accessible ticket. They might not bother at all or they might ask for ID or why they have these tickets which are reserved for wheelchair users, I don’t know but I’d air on the side of caution. I’m not trying to be difficult I wish I could just give them to anyone by shepherdofthewolf (Thu 9th Nov 2023 10:23am)
  • Yes that’s the way it is, there are a few folding chairs for the carers but it goes chair-space-chair-space, and you aren’t allowed to stand in the wheelchair area. I would love someone else to go and enjoy the gig but the tickets criteria has to still be met by shepherdofthewolf (Thu 9th Nov 2023 2:48pm)
  • Haha temporary disablement perhaps?! Sorry I do wish the tickets could just go to whoever by shepherdofthewolf (Fri 10th Nov 2023 6:28pm)
  • I don’t know who that is but this Daniel Sloss is a comedian, he kinda got big with his Netflix specials that made loads of marriages break up lol by shepherdofthewolf (Fri 10th Nov 2023 6:25pm)
  • That IT Crowd episode is amazing 😂. But seriously where are my disabled homies at? by shepherdofthewolf (Fri 10th Nov 2023 11:49pm)
