  • Completely agree. I live in a flat in the south side, I spent my NYE on zoom and the amount of parties I could see/hear around me was ridiculous by smooth_macaroon (Fri 1st Jan 2021 12:54am)
  • Flights Glasgow to Bristol are always super frequent and there’s usually a cheap option or two by smooth_macaroon (Mon 15th Mar 2021 10:23pm)

  • My local trampoline club have had it confirmed gymnasts can travel in and out of Glasgow to go to the club, not sure if that’s helpful by smooth_macaroon (Tue 18th May 2021 12:32am)
  • Can you reference that news please? Not being sassy I would just like to read more. I had only heard rumours about it so wasn’t sure if it was true I know there have been people who have had a jag then caught Covid like straight away but that was before the vaccine would’ve been effective if that makes sense. I know, as shown previously, it can be a very slippery slope with the numbers - due to the nature of infection. Less and less people should end up in hospital though due to the vulnerable being vaccinated (I know this is then very worrying if the vaccine isn’t working but there is evidence it does, including against the Indian variant) by smooth_macaroon (Tue 18th May 2021 9:48am)
  • Members over 18 can travel in for private classes (is what the club is saying) Is this wrong? by smooth_macaroon (Tue 18th May 2021 1:01pm)

  • This is all so confusing now. Exercising indoors is allowed in L3 (as long as it’s solo) but is it that you’re not allowed to travel for it? Thanks so much for providing so much info, it’s really good to hear as much as possible by smooth_macaroon (Tue 18th May 2021 3:21pm)

  • Way less people are gunna follow the rules with the restrictions staying in place, people are just gunna go to each other’s houses in a completely unregulated environment making the spread even worse by smooth_macaroon (Wed 19th May 2021 8:45pm)
  • I second this please! I didn’t realise there was a way to report them by smooth_macaroon (Sat 22nd May 2021 1:07am)
  • My partner commuted for three years, it wasn’t idea but it was so much better than moving there for him. His days were long but her just used to read on the train which was only 45 mins (sounds a lot but compared to even getting into town this end not too bad) and he just used to read/have breakfast. Not saying it’s for everyone but it defo can work! by smooth_macaroon (Sat 22nd May 2021 10:29am)
  • My partner lived there before we moved in together so I spent a lot of time there. Really lovely flat but we were right near the top and it was still so noisy, in summer we never stayed there at the weekend because it was way too loud to have the window open. The concierge was grumpy but so nice! I thought he was always helpful and polite. I personally wouldn’t choose to live there again though, there are bars and restaurants (and some really great ones) but not that many. It’s become rougher and full of bammy 18 year olds due to some of the venues. The lack of bin chute is annoying and means the lift often stinks of bins but we didn’t have an issue with beetles, there were rats on the ground floor at one point though. We moved from there to merchant city and absolutely love it. We actually live right across from one of the clubs but the bouncers are so strict that there’s hardly any noise, just a bit when they close. If you want more feedback on other areas just ask! by smooth_macaroon (Sun 23rd May 2021 11:30am)
  • Yeah we just had to pick either Saturday or Sunday and we could go any time so it basically is a walk in but your name needs to be on their list. by smooth_macaroon (Sun 23rd May 2021 10:38pm)
  • We went today and they were just like obv you’re getting pfizer as you’re under 40 so I wouldn’t worry about that by smooth_macaroon (Sun 23rd May 2021 10:42pm)
  • I came looking for a more official source too before telling my friends/family to do it by smooth_macaroon (Sun 23rd May 2021 10:39pm)
  • I found my new office job on indeed! by smooth_macaroon (Tue 25th May 2021 11:01pm)
  • When I registered at my new GP I received an email saying I hadn’t been registered as I had missed something out on the form, I completely forgot to redo it and then like 2 weeks later got a call saying I was over due a check up so you can may be registered, even though you haven’t had confirmation. by smooth_macaroon (Wed 26th May 2021 3:13pm)
  • Happy birthdaaaay! 🥳 by smooth_macaroon (Wed 2nd Jun 2021 2:20pm)
  • Do you have any specific recommendations please? I’m in the south side and would love to join a club. I’m not great at all but really enjoy it by smooth_macaroon (Fri 4th Jun 2021 2:14am)
  • I didn’t realise they are doing this and have really struggled with their site, I don’t suppose you have the link to hand at all please? I’ve signed up to get a notification when they open but we be so keen to try it a few times before committing anyway by smooth_macaroon (Fri 4th Jun 2021 2:19am)
  • If you ever fancy badminton hmu! by smooth_macaroon (Fri 4th Jun 2021 2:15am)
  • You could also ask them when it will be taking place/if you can wait outside. That’s allowed with the restrictions plus it means if there’s an issue you could ask to go in with one of them to see it. Also when you take pictures you could try to include something with the date in? Just if you’re worried they’re going to try to pull some funny business you want to make sure you’re as covered as possible. We’ve all been screwed over by some scummy landlords. by smooth_macaroon (Wed 16th Jun 2021 11:34pm)
  • I gave one to a charity shop on Vicky road about a month ago lol by smooth_macaroon (Wed 16th Jun 2021 11:43pm)

  • Was out for a nice dinner in Cafe Andaluz last night and some bam in his late twenties got so drunk he chundered all over himself, his table and the floor. Felt so bad for the poor staff and still can’t believe it happened. by smooth_macaroon (Sat 26th Jun 2021 10:26am)

  • There are missing cat posters up in to the north of Queen’s Park but I didn’t pay too much attention, is that too far for a cat to go? I think the cat was kinda darkish in colour with white in it? (I could be completely wrong) by smooth_macaroon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 12:02pm)
  • Ah fair enough, that was the first time I’d noticed one that near my flat by smooth_macaroon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 2:39pm)
  • When I was younger my GP told me to go on them, just for a few minutes and I had to put sun cream on first but in moderation they can be helpful by smooth_macaroon (Thu 8th Jul 2021 10:24pm)
  • If you get a good recommendation please share! I’m not English (Welsh) but would really enjoy going out to watch it by smooth_macaroon (Sun 11th Jul 2021 1:47am)
  • I had my vaccine on a Sunday, can I have my second one exactly 8 weeks after (on the Sunday) or do I have to wait til the Monday? I spoke to the hotline today and they said to go on the Sunday but I’m worried it’ll be a wasted trip by smooth_macaroon (Tue 13th Jul 2021 10:57pm)
  • Thanks so much for replying! I’m planning on going to Glasgow mosque which is open on Sundays Oooh that’s interesting! I’m so buzzing to finally be fully vaccinated, feels like I’ve been waiting for it forever by smooth_macaroon (Tue 13th Jul 2021 11:03pm)
  • Sorry to hear about the Covid, hope you’re both doing okay! Also so sweet of you to post here, just wanted to say a thank you and point out how much I love this sub lol. by smooth_macaroon (Thu 15th Jul 2021 1:02am)
  • I would defo go for any of the independent places other people have suggested first but if you can’t try Nuffield. I went there as they were accepted by my health insurance (when I was a student that I had through my dads job as long as I was in education) and they were amazing. You also got full use of the facilities whenever you had an appointment which was fun too by smooth_macaroon (Thu 15th Jul 2021 1:00am)
  • Y ty hanks so much for letting me know! by smooth_macaroon (Fri 16th Jul 2021 11:34pm)
  • I had toothache about two months ago and hadn’t registered at a dentist here. I found the one I had intended to register at, filled out the form online then called them and they saw me like two days later by smooth_macaroon (Fri 16th Jul 2021 11:57pm)
  • I went at like 3pm on Sunday and parking was no bother at all by smooth_macaroon (Tue 20th Jul 2021 10:25pm)
  • Yeah super strict. We went when we were 8 weeks to the day and they were funny about it and had to double check it was okay. by smooth_macaroon (Tue 20th Jul 2021 10:25pm)
  • You could try the GlasGO app too, they might be more chill about it by smooth_macaroon (Thu 29th Jul 2021 11:14pm)
  • I’ve not heard anything about this, where is it? by smooth_macaroon (Sat 31st Jul 2021 9:10pm)
  • Sorry if this is a really dumb question but what does it look like? (If it’s even visible) Thanks for sharing, I honestly had no idea about this and wouldn’t have thought too much about the water being dangerous in this way if it was flowing by smooth_macaroon (Tue 3rd Aug 2021 12:07am)
  • I went through the whole article looking for pics too! by smooth_macaroon (Tue 3rd Aug 2021 12:58am)
  • Thank you for sharing and adding in the pics! by smooth_macaroon (Tue 3rd Aug 2021 9:00am)
  • Have you tried re-registering for the online portal? As if you don’t already have one A pal had an issue with theirs because of a change of address that meant things weren’t matched up. by smooth_macaroon (Thu 19th Aug 2021 12:20am)
  • My pal left something there once and got it back no bother. He had no luck with replies either but just showed up when it opened. by smooth_macaroon (Mon 6th Sep 2021 8:41pm)
  • They say this to cover themselves but they will complete their own property valuation which can often be higher. When my sister bought her house they said she was overpaying by about £5k but they were happy to ignore it as it was a small discrepancy. by smooth_macaroon (Tue 7th Sep 2021 11:18pm)
  • My brother bought a flat about 6 months ago and paid like 15% over the home report and the bank was happy with the amount paid being the mortgage amount with a 10% deposit. (Sorry I’ve worded this awfully) by smooth_macaroon (Tue 7th Sep 2021 11:17pm)
  • Just a wee fyi, they’ve brought back the 5% mortgages, I know you get a bit shafted with the rate but if it’s the difference between buying and not buying it could be helpful! by smooth_macaroon (Tue 7th Sep 2021 11:15pm)
  • You could try minor injuries? But of a different vibe but can be really helpful. Also calling the nhs number can be so useful, even if just to tell you that you need to be seen and by who by smooth_macaroon (Tue 7th Sep 2021 11:20pm)
  • Lol ty, did not mean to use that 🙃 by smooth_macaroon (Thu 9th Sep 2021 12:05am)
  • I wasn’t sure if I should tbh, should I remove it? There was a group of them and they were taken away in the van/cars after. The police searched them and took things off them then were searching on the floor and picked up what looked like needles so I thought it was drug related. (I know it can still be bad mental health even if drug related) by smooth_macaroon (Thu 9th Sep 2021 12:05am)
  • A lot of people have suggested Mother India but I haven’t seen anyone suggest Mother India at the Landsdowne, imo it is similar to but significantly better than the other Mother India options. Plus it’s normally quieter and easy to book a table at. by smooth_macaroon (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 11:33am)
  • I aim to do one before plans and one after, I work from home exclusively. I got them with the intention of twice a week which is roughly what I aim to do, but I’m not consistent by smooth_macaroon (Fri 8th Oct 2021 9:44pm)

  • My father in law swears by the citizen, he always says it’s the tank stuff although I’m not sure what that means by smooth_macaroon (Mon 20th Dec 2021 10:25pm)
  • Super random but potentially really useful… did the first name begin with D by any chance? by smooth_macaroon (Tue 28th Dec 2021 8:50am)
  • Thanks for getting back to me! I have some extended family waiting on some results including a Samson by smooth_macaroon (Tue 28th Dec 2021 12:49pm)
  • That’s so cool! I was on Pollokshaws Road but only caught a bit of it, I thought it looked yellowy but definitely could have been green. I am so glad you confirmed it! by smooth_macaroon (Wed 14th Sep 2022 10:08pm)
  • Thank you! by smooth_macaroon (Thu 15th Sep 2022 6:35pm)
