  • I’ve had a few flats at Charing Cross, cars driving through the underpass sound like waves gently rolling on a stoney beach, couldn’t sleep right for weeks after I moved! by tamborinetam (Sun 1st Sep 2019 12:04pm)

  • You’ve not lived in many crappy places then, Tibo’s a nice cafe, the pub across the road used to be a shite hole now it serves Korean tapas, Denniston BBQ is the best burger in town, coyas cafe’s a Glasgow institution and if you don’t like any of that you can walk to town in 15 minutes. The gentrification of the east ends well underway, what’s abysmal about Duke street? by tamborinetam (Thu 3rd Feb 2022 7:27am)
  • Recently moved to Springboig, lived on Finlay drive for 7 years, I’m on duke street most weekends for a trip to my favourite butcher and a bit of lunch by tamborinetam (Thu 3rd Feb 2022 8:03am)
  • The Transport Museum is waaaay over rated, the old one was great, you could touch stuff and watch kids cartoons in the cinema, best bit about the new one is there’s loads of parking, not free parking but parking none the less by tamborinetam (Wed 21st Sep 2022 7:06pm)
  • I usually go for theiyr're to cover all bases by tamborinetam (Sat 5th Nov 2022 8:58pm)

  • Gorgeous, I've been to the top of that tower and the view is amazing, your photo of the tower is better by tamborinetam (Wed 8th Feb 2023 10:42pm)
  • Sorry for the late reply, I was working in there and was given a big bunch of keys, on the bunch was this small strange looking key that looked 500 years old. While later I walked past this small strange looking door that looked about 500 years old, the key worked, the door opened onto a narrow stone spiral staircase which led to the roof area in between the four turrets, amazing panoramic view of Glasgow, made it most of the way up the main middle turret but was unfortunately stopped by a gate which was rusted solid by tamborinetam (Thu 9th Feb 2023 8:22pm)
  • The stuff you see on the outside was clad on to the existing exterior circa 2000ish, and the lift machines and controllers live in the plant room. Source, I worked with the company who fitted the safety anchors for the cladding guys to hook onto then a few years later I became a lift engineer and fixed the lifts up there by tamborinetam (Sat 20th May 2023 1:14pm)
  • I was lucky enough to be passing the day a lorry packed full of whiskey done the same thing! Got 5 40oz of cutty Sark, 12 bottles of Oban 12yo malt and 5 stitches in my hand from some broken glass! by tamborinetam (Sun 21st May 2023 4:37pm)
  • Where are you? Still dry in the east end but the thunder has been rumbling by tamborinetam (Fri 16th Jun 2023 5:39pm)
  • Lift engineer here, it's pretty underwhelming up there but the view is awesome! You walk through the top door to where they used to hang the washing up to dry, now it's literally just an empty unused space, the only stuff up there are the lift motor rooms and the top of the bin chutes by tamborinetam (Sun 13th Aug 2023 12:53am)

  • Not sure how the admin ladder works, I'm on a different ladder out on the tools, I do know that particular job is not very demanding and it's in a chilled out environment which sounded like something the OP could be doing with justnow by tamborinetam (Fri 18th Aug 2023 7:00am)
  • I've got a sound guys number, done 7sm of those little metro tiles in my shower for £200, DM me an I'll send you his number by tamborinetam (Fri 8th Sep 2023 6:21pm)

  • Mince pie, Baines Butchers, Stenhouse, Edinburgh, it's like mince your gran would make but with loads of pepper contained within a grease free case. Steak pie, Lawson's Butchers, Uphall, Well steak an gravy pie, great big chunks of beautifully stewed steak and lashings of salty gravy again in a grease free case that holds up to the last bite by tamborinetam (Sun 29th Oct 2023 12:12am)
  • The balcony above the P in People was my old smoke spot, I saw brad pit and his family flee from a zombie hoard from there one time! by tamborinetam (Sat 11th Nov 2023 4:47pm)
  • I was in recently, you wouldn't recognize the place, demo guys have ripped everything back to the brick work and knocked most of the internal walls down, the only original feature left is all the marble and wood work in the foyer and staircase as it's listed by tamborinetam (Sat 11th Nov 2023 5:59pm)
  • Do they still do a 3 courser with a Tennant's for a fiver? by tamborinetam (Sat 9th Dec 2023 3:26pm)
  • Must be 10 years since I've been, I used to live down the street on Abbotsford Place so I was there fairly regularly. It was like going to your grans house for lunch, Glasgow granny soup, mince tatties n turnip, wee funny metal bowl with ambrosia rice n tinned fruit, minted man by tamborinetam (Sat 9th Dec 2023 4:13pm)
