  • DELETED Bruh first you need to open a Monzo account, after opening it, put some money (£5-10) and request a statement through live chat and indicate that it needs to be stamped and signed. After you got your paper, go Barclays and use that statement as a proof of address. I managed to open a Barclays account via this method. They are very specific about proof of address documents and statements from other licensed banks in the UK can be used as a proof of address. by wakari_mayo (Tue 5th Oct 2021 6:11am)
  • Oh,forgot to mention that I will be buying with cash, not mortgage. by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 10:51am)
  • DELETED I can totally understand your concerns, however I'm from a country which its currency and economic status is going downhill. I will be buying a home with my and my family's very hard earned money over years, just not to starve to death in my home country. :( I believe this is a valid argument as well. by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 10:58am)
  • Excellent thank you very much I will be looking this area. 🤗 by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 11:09am)
  • DELETED No actually I'm not that kind of a person you probably would hate. Not sure why you think like that though. Could you elaborate please? by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 11:05am)

  • DELETED Well why wouldn't you? by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 11:15am)
  • what is the problem with that argument? Glasgow is precious, and drug/alcohol is a big problem here. Why reality saddens people? by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 11:44am)
  • DELETED I'm on a special agreement which forces me that I have to turn back to my country and work there for at least some years after my education and internship is completed here. And the monthly wage is around £400-500 (which makes 2x minimum wage only) for a demanding job. Not to mention that increasing inflation for general household expenses. I don't think you've ever paid $10 for toilet paper while you are paying at least $300 rent. For £110k I could never buy a decent house back in my hometown to let it for £500. Wealth distribution and income inequality is a huge problem there and I'm just trying to invest something allows me to pay my rent or buy some food. My maximum income will be £1000 (maybe for years) when I turn back when assumed that I found a home and let it here. It's not even equal to the monthly scholarship I get now. I know these are not your problems, however it is funny to see a person nagging who is living in a country which has one of the least rates of inflation for years and still offers opportunities for who want to work. by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 2:16pm)
  • DELETED No I'm not saying "funny" for the situation, please reread that sentence. Plus, I didn't even know there was a housing crisis in the UK market, or in Scotland. by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 2:40pm)
  • DELETED Na, I'm living in Glasgow, however I didn't have time to check media as my studies and work has been going hard af and not having a TV license, I wasn't aware of this. by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 3:15pm)
  • DELETED To see the news in the media obviously. Goddamn how could I know where to *buy* a house more than local people living here for years? How could I know if the housing situation is fucked up without searching one for buying? Additionally, why wouldn't you just rent your house for free, or just under the market price if you want to contribute to the solution of this situation right now? If you don't own a house, would you do that if you have one to let? by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 3:39pm)
  • DELETED Yes, could you elaborate "As a home owner, the single worst thing you can do is become a landlord." this please? What kind of drawbacks or negative experiences should I expect? Thanks by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 5:13pm)
  • DELETED Why tho? South of the Clyde or where? by wakari_mayo (Wed 15th Dec 2021 5:11pm)

  • Btw, although it's not at the centre, but I can suggest Happy Chippy at the east end (Between Carntyne and Shettleston). It is a wee shop but surprisingly great, one of the best I've ever had in Glasgow. by wakari_mayo (Thu 6th Apr 2023 2:59am)

  • If it is a well-known brand, like Apple, HP, Lenovo, Dell etc. go to nearest service centre or contact them quoting the serial number and attach a copy of your invoice/receipt (IT team must do it in behalf of company if it is a work laptop), and they take a note of the laptop as stolen. If it ever comes to a service point somehow, they will arrest the laptop and will contact you. Also, if your pc has features like Absolute, service centre or IT team can lock it for good (like impossible to be used after that point) and track it remotely. by wakari_mayo (Sat 13th May 2023 9:41pm)

  • Original Turkish here 😎👌🏼, while the term *best* heavily depends on personal preferences, none of the Indian/Pakistani kebab in the UK are anywhere near to the original döner. Believe it or not, the closest to the original recipe I could find is GDK. by wakari_mayo (Sun 30th Jul 2023 10:11pm)
