  • I live in Pollokshields, and like everywhere else in Glasgow you’ll get trouble. But it’s nowhere near as bad as some other areas. One major point I always make to people moving to the area is that there’s almost no boozers, and in turn, hardly any drunks stoating about! by 1230cal (Wed 30th Oct 2019 6:45pm)
  • Exactly, wasn’t going to be the one to say it, but I suppose it’s only the truth! by 1230cal (Thu 31st Oct 2019 10:13am)

  • This is where the M74 was originally designed to be continued from, I believe. Shame it couldn’t be done, would have saved that horrible drive round the House of Sher. by 1230cal (Sun 8th Dec 2019 9:58pm)

  • I believe they’re practicing for the royals. I drive to Alloa from Glasgow every day, and have seen them 3 times this week. We’ve all been bang on schedule. They leave from the Airport and come off at Robroyston. This is the convoy used previously when transporting Charles and the likes. by 1230cal (Thu 12th Nov 2020 11:48am)
  • I agree, but I was there yesterday and the day before. No one has emptied them all weekend. I stuck my stuff in my bag, but a lot of folk don’t think like that sadly. by 1230cal (Sun 3rd Jan 2021 4:12pm)

  • Just curious, so if they're initial application was denied, should they have reported to the home office and went to one of these houses themselves while they appealed? I'm assuming they have refused to go to one of these houses, which is why they immigration officers have attended? I'm not proving a point, I'm genuinely interested in what decisions led to them being picked up. by 1230cal (Fri 14th May 2021 8:40am)
  • Yeah you're not correct. We aren't in a post vaccinated world yet pal. People are dying of the new strain and hardly anyone under the age of 25 has had a vaccine. We still have to wait, and it's us that'll be doing the most socialising. Couple months before everyone will be fully vaccinated. by 1230cal (Sat 15th May 2021 9:55am)
  • Well it's both, but thats not news. Nothing going to change because they don't ever get in trouble. by 1230cal (Sat 15th May 2021 10:00am)
  • Just moved from G41 but I guess they haven't updated the address yet. Got the text today, so I'll let them know that I've moved over 2 weeks ago incase they can use it for someone that needs it. I'm not sure if they have protocol for that and mind end up just getting it anyway. by 1230cal (Mon 17th May 2021 11:37pm)

  • You dropped this - \ by 1230cal (Mon 13th Sep 2021 6:19pm)
  • You are correct. This course isn't an apprenticeship. It's not there to make you become a joiner. This course is for learning basic household DIY such as fixing a leak or painting. If you think you'll be fitting kitchens from this course, you're mental. But if you want to learn the basics and like myself, would prefer someone to give me instructions in person, then it's a good course. by 1230cal (Thu 16th Sep 2021 2:00pm)
  • Do you need to pay? The one at morrisons and tgate are free by 1230cal (Sat 30th Oct 2021 9:38pm)
  • No. Going through the police, you will be redirected to BTP. Its 1 unnecessary step, which is why the correct method is to contact BTP direct. by 1230cal (Sat 27th Nov 2021 2:22am)
  • No because by the time they've got through the 100 texts, they might be at the end and it could be too late to help. Registration is clearly the most beneficial method or it wouldn't be used. by 1230cal (Sat 27th Nov 2021 2:21am)
  • I've taken your advice along with another user, and I'm going to contact DeafBlind Scotland. I'll also give Deaf Action a ring and see if they offer any thing else that I could take into account when deciding :) Thanks a lot for your suggestion! by 1230cal (Fri 10th Dec 2021 2:53pm)

  • Thanks for commenting! I did contact the college about an evening course they were running, but unfortunately it won't work alongside my business. Thank you again! by 1230cal (Fri 10th Dec 2021 2:51pm)
  • Thanks for your response. I have heard of DeafBlind Scotland. I am going to look into the courses later on today. I've had an interest for a while and with another commenter suggesting an instructor that's sensory impaired as well, this seems like the best option for me. Thank you very much ! 😊 by 1230cal (Fri 10th Dec 2021 2:51pm)

  • They patrol all across the city all day. They have 4-8 units patrolling around central station and surrounding on the weekend. They don’t do enough, but I worked nights for a few months through summer till now And they do patrol. by 1230cal (Wed 19th Oct 2022 6:21am)
  • The garage isn’t on four corners bud. That’s what the OP was talking about and what I was referencing. Not Sauichiehall Street, which also has police patrols. Perhaps you’re missing them because you’re such a party animal. I live on High Street in the city centre, I’ve lived in Charing X. The police patrol. They’re utter useless cunts, and I don’t particularly like the way the Police conduct themselves. Doesn’t change the fact they do patrol by 1230cal (Wed 19th Oct 2022 8:17am)
  • 4 corners is the worst place for transport out of Glasgow. Are you a troll? Do you even live in Glasgow? I’m beginning to think you’re just trying to bam me up 😂 Biggest taxi queue in the city, and the odd chance to get stabbed while waiting. Muppet by 1230cal (Wed 19th Oct 2022 10:11am)
  • I lived in Aldgate E1 postcode, London. I lived in the City Centre, High Street, Glasgow. Both central cities. Glasgow is by far worse, and disgusting by 1230cal (Wed 19th Oct 2022 12:28pm)

  • That’s only because they’re including all the bribes and backhanders. I’m sure it is Japan that use a plastic mix with tar in order to strengthen the roads and they deal with temp changes better too by 1230cal (Thu 3rd Nov 2022 9:21am)

  • Especially the fact they have already attempted to rectify it. You could also swing it and say if they have worked on the road, then someone must have previously reported it. If they say no one reported it, then you counter with the argument, so you knew about the road yourselves. Excuse bad punctuation etc by 1230cal (Tue 10th Jan 2023 10:08am)

  • Dirt bikes though, most come bare when you buy new and you add lights, indicators, mirrors if you’re trying to be road legal, but these kids don’t want lights etc. more to be seen and they think with no lights and no helmet the police won’t give chase. That law changed a couple year ago by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 7:14am)
  • The police do chase mopeds and bikes now. That law changed a few year ago. They have the power to chase if they choose to. It’s just that it’s down to the officer to deem wether it’s risk is too high to continue by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 7:16am)
  • There’s no UK Police force with a ‘No-Chase’ rule anymore. I’m not a police officer so can’t speak to the specifics but I did ask a family member who is part of Police Scotland and they have told me that information. by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 8:33am)
  • Okay..? by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 8:36am)
  • Oh yeah, I understand mate. It’s a shame that nothing will change. The same is true here in Renfrew. A group of boys with a mixture of dirt and electric Surron’s. I’ll say one thing; the electric Surrons are just as dangerous if not more as they can go faster, quicker and they do that while being silent. Dangerous times for pedestrians and road users alike, as there’s no options if you get into an accident with them either by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 8:55am)
  • It’s not an officers duty to decide wether they can afford to catch a criminal or not lmao I wasn’t even gonna respond anymore but you’re chatting absolute nonsense. You do realise the Police aren’t self-employed and they all follow the same procedures? If the situation arises that any officer needs to pursue a vehicle or criminal, the response warranted wouldn’t vary from officer to officer due to lack of funds. It would come down to that officers personal ability I.e. if the officer is alone or in an unmarked vehicle etc by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 9:24am)
  • Oh you’re using your crystal ball there to gather information, alongside your arse? Quality by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 10:54am)
  • Yes so it has nothing to do about wether or not they will be moved to desk duties as you originally commented. It’s other reasons among the one you have just stated by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 10:51am)
  • Really focused on the fact the your family in the police somehow trumps mine lmao all started after you realised you had changed your point and got caught out hahaha by 1230cal (Mon 13th Feb 2023 10:58am)

  • Well it’s no as simple as one guy walking round making sure they open and close. They would easily kill someone if they fell out, and if they are the same way they were when I was there then they are screwed into wood. Some wood was rotting when I attended around 7 years ago so it’s bound to be a shambles. Aside from organising a contractor to come in, everything needs to be okayed from multiple levels as the cost would be massive to replace every window / even just pay a contractor to quote replacing them. It’s likely going to be a while longer before anything changes by 1230cal (Wed 15th Feb 2023 8:27pm)

  • I get this all the time with my Akita. Her posture is always recognised by other dogs. It’s a shame really, because after she was about 5 months, I’ve found almost no dogs that will get along great. Most are nervous when approaching and for some reason the nervous ones set her off. Once in a blue moon a daft lab that doesn’t give a fuck will bounce into her and she loves it! by 1230cal (Thu 13th Apr 2023 9:08pm)

And to say there was ‘some’ rubbish is an understatement. It’s fucking vile the way these fans leave our city. Open your eyes by 1230cal (Mon 29th May 2023 9:10am)

  • I work for a company delivering for Amazon, and it’s as you described regarding pay. But we are in no rush. Amazon has an algorithm which affects how many parcels you take out on a route. If I go too fast one day they give me more parcels the next. We also have a ‘sweeper’ which is a driver who starts around 3/4pm and his job is to collect any parcels we can’t deliver before ~8pm. Then he spends the rest of the night attempting to deliver them. If he can’t get them finished, or the customers still aren’t home etc he just takes them back to the warehouse and they get sent out the next day. There are a few other sub-contractors at Amazon who don’t have as good a system and yes, they are pretty much chasing their tail the whole day. OP, if you are interested in courier work, I am paid £109 per shift, and every now and then we get a £25 a day bonus meaning an extra £100 a week. I get as many shifts as I want - I’m working 6 days on right now but there’s folk who just do weekends or a few days etc. They also sort out how much tax to pay, submit quarterly returns and an end of year tax return for £15 a week. Feel free anyone to DM with questions if you don’t fancy asking here. by 1230cal (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 8:44am)
  • Eco-Deliveries, at DXG2 Baillieston. I believe they have DPD contracts too, but as I’m sure you know Amazon are actually really good to work for so I’m happy where I am. I’m an electrician to trade and I’ve left that behind right now for this guaranteed work. by 1230cal (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 8:49am)

  • Ah fair enough mate. I believe there’s a gentlemens agreement in place between the managers. If you did want to switch, I’m not sure the best way to go about it as I’m quite new. I could ask one of my lead drivers if they know anyone that has if you are interested? I can just say I was speaking to someone in the yard that mentioned wanting to work for eco by 1230cal (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 8:54am)
  • Hahaha no problem. Have a nice day mate by 1230cal (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 8:58am)
  • I think Amazon have a warehouse in Bathgate mate. Check on Indeed for Amazon Courier Edinburgh and see what pops up, or when I’m in work, I can check it Eco have any work out your way by 1230cal (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 9:10am)
  • You are provided a van when you work for Eco-Deliveries and they cover insurance and fuel. You don’t get to pick your routes, no. I live in Cambuslang and would prefer that, but I’m usually Knightswood or Springburn / Royston. Different contractors get different areas. If you want to use your own car, you could look at Amazon flex. I would be cautious that you have all your own expenses that way, but it makes more per shift and you do less parcels. by 1230cal (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 9:38am)
  • Agreed, guys a prick. Got charged for drinks we didn’t order and when I informed them of that, they offered to just bring the drinks out lmao no I didn’t order them - I’m not paying for them. by 1230cal (Sun 9th Jul 2023 9:07am)
  • Not true for every company. I work for a subcontractor in Amazon Glasgow and I'm paid £130 a day, £5 per week for the van. It basically covers the cost of cleaning it every week. The lease, insurance and fuel are all covered by Amazon. by 1230cal (Fri 8th Sep 2023 8:54am)
