  • Recently visited Dawsholm park and was very impressed after all the renovations, mainly along the Kelvin. Feels like being in a proper wild forest and you get a sound view of the sun setting over Glasgow. by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 12:48pm)
  • Yea its great, feels like you're an explorer. Kind of wish parts of the Kelvingrove were a bit more wild (instead of cut grass everywhere) to give you a bit more of that feel. by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 6:32pm)
  • Sweet so with a little common sense and minding my own business it should be fine right by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 8:31pm)
  • Hmm, its a bit further along Ruchill street around Mayfield street by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 8:48pm)
  • Would be lovely with streetfood joints, community events, street parties etc. instead of cars. Also a lot more comfortable for all the students and park goers crossing constantly by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 8:59pm)
  • Cool think I'm just gonna go for it then by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 9:13pm)
  • I see, appreciate the help man by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 9:13pm)
  • Sure but they also make it more difficult to have a car and drive in and around the city. So instead of being able to take a shortcut through Kelvin way they'd have to go around in an inconvenient manner. The cities are designed in a way so that the most efficient mode of transport is by bike by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 10:02pm)
  • You're absolutely correct, there needs to be a cohesive infrastructure plan for Greater Glasgow that supports all modes of travel but favors soft traffic and public transport. A more realistic counter to the Dutch urban planning utopia might be Copenhagen. Glasgow has a lot of wide roads and sometimes its just as simple as slapping some segregated bike lanes on either side and putting the on street parking elsewhere. by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 10:19pm)
  • Have you had bad experiences there? by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sat 2nd May 2020 10:44pm)
  • oh sound, didn't know that about the new tenancy agreement cheers by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sun 3rd May 2020 8:59am)
  • Thanks, nice to hear from someone in the area by AgreeableReindeer5 (Sun 3rd May 2020 8:58am)
  • There's a few otters in Kelvin apparently, around Dawsholm by AgreeableReindeer5 (Mon 25th May 2020 2:40pm)
  • My girlfriend is British chinese and has never really had any problems in Glasgow. Recently she feels more aware of being asian, e.g. trying not to cough in public, but still feels safe. I think you'll be fine, there are lots of Singaporean and Chinese students here and Glasgow is probably more accepting than most UK cities. by AgreeableReindeer5 (Thu 28th May 2020 7:19pm)
  • Looks decent by AgreeableReindeer5 (Wed 3rd Jun 2020 3:11pm)
