  • I never got why that one Street was so much more of a tip than everywhere around it. Like I've seen so much furniture dumped on the pavement there that if it's only locals then everyone in the street must've entirely refurbished many times over by now... by ChloeDancersCrown (Wed 31st Jul 2019 3:49pm)
  • I think guitar guitar has a ton of them in the downstairs section. Personal favourite huitar shop is Jimmy egypts on great Western Road. Not sure what their prs selections like. You could always give them a buzz and ask. by ChloeDancersCrown (Sun 1st Sep 2019 9:45am)

  • Leave it exactly where it is and turn your flat into a pub. Folk will come in, see it, say "what the fucks a washing machine doing in a pub? Jesus, I need a drink." and bam, they'll have to have one of your organic scrumpies. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 13th Sep 2019 7:54pm)
  • £2, cant beat it! Used to go there way too much when I lived near charing cross. OP, if you go to even a handful of these nights you're guaranteed to get someone you recognise off the telly at some point. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 13th Sep 2019 7:50pm)

  • Could be air quality sensors, but the way they're angled makes me suspect they're ultrasonic sensors looking out for trucks parking in front of them, given the sign right below them by ChloeDancersCrown (Tue 24th Sep 2019 4:49pm)
  • I do southside to southside 5 days a week by car atm. It is taking a toll on me. 5am starts, basically 2 hours each way thanks to roadworks, and 60 quid a week in diesel. I'd look into car sharing, but I need the flexibility of being able to work late at no notice. I'm 6 months into a 2 year contract that will get my career moving, but I will not be doing a day over that 2 years. Like everyone else has said, you need to be sure it's going to be worth it. by ChloeDancersCrown (Sun 3rd Nov 2019 12:04pm)

  • Green. I'm in a safe snp seat with an outside threat from labour, so I know full well my votes not going to affect it, but if we can increase the vote share this time, then maybe at the next election it could become realistic. I think a lot of people would vote green if they felt they stood a chance of winning, but they're kinda waiting for others to put them in with a shout in the first place. by ChloeDancersCrown (Tue 10th Dec 2019 4:57pm)
  • I was in the same boat as you when I came out years ago, scared to open my mouth in public. And then I realised people don't give a fuck. Literally the only comment I ever had was someone in markies asking if I had a sore throat once. There's plenty of voice training you can do 5o help over time too. Glasgows great like that. It occurred to me the other day that I used to stand behind my door everytime for 20 minutes scared as fuck to step outside, but within a couple of months I got over it and now I can't believe I ever cared. The Internet makes you think everyone out to get you when the reality is even if on the rare occasion someone has a problem, they'd never say anything. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 13th Jan 2020 9:28pm)
  • Depends where you are in Glasgow and where you'll work in Edinburgh. I do it by car everyday because I'm close to the motorway here, and my office is on the southside of Edinburgh, so not handy for trains. And honestly... I'm losing the will to live at times with it. You don't know anger until you've taken 3 hours to get into the office because someone was driving up someone else's arse and went into the back of them, turning hermiston gate into a logjam. Your personal life suffers too, because you're so bloody shattered from leaving the house at 6am to be able to do anything when you eventually get home at 7pm. I tried getting back into the dating scene for a while last year but I just didn't have the energy for anything other than weekends. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 27th Jan 2020 2:49pm)
  • This the sandyford that's said 5 months? If it's an emergency, there should be a procedure here depending on the circumstances https://www.sandyford.org/emergencies/ by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 31st Jan 2020 1:23pm)
  • Obvs I'm not gonna ask you to be more specific here, but I'd give them a buzz anyway and explain your concern. If that doesn't help, like others have said, maybe try going through your gp? by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 31st Jan 2020 1:37pm)
  • Check basketball Scotland. I'm sure they'll have a club finder on their website. by ChloeDancersCrown (Thu 13th Feb 2020 3:44pm)

  • If you drive all the way, prepare to feel anger like you've never felt before. Tailbacks start at Newhouse at times. Anything past Bathgate will be a crawl on a normal day. by ChloeDancersCrown (Tue 10th Mar 2020 8:08pm)
  • >I'm posting here to contain my rage rather than go round the taxi offices to give them a piece of my mind. Go speak to them. Give them a piece of your mind. Fuck the part of your brain trying to avoid conflict. Things won't change if you just post to Reddit instead of going and having a conversation with them. by ChloeDancersCrown (Thu 19th Mar 2020 10:00am)

  • Oh it's absolutely real. I've got a black cat, when I adopted her the rescue centre made a point of thanking me for picking a black one. Apparently in addition to superstition, people don't adopt them because they don't come out well in pictures. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 3rd Apr 2020 11:19pm)

  • Go to your gp and mention your anxieties about driving. They quite often prescribe beta blockers (propanalol?) to people for this, as it dampens adrenaline without any side effects like drowsiness, which would obviously be an issue for being behind the wheel. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 8th Jun 2020 10:19pm)
  • Only thing about bag o nails atm is that the polis sit across the road from it in their van and then start threatening fines to anyone who doesn't start moving within half a second of getting their pint. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 15th Jun 2020 2:55pm)
  • They were a bit more grumpy last weekend then when I went down. There was a guy and his flatmate had ordered seperately just before me, and there was about a minute between their drinks coming out, during which time the first guy got told to move along or face a fine. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 15th Jun 2020 3:43pm)
  • Oh I think my friend whos a refugee accessed your services! Did you guys do a gig at St lukes last year? by ChloeDancersCrown (Wed 17th Jun 2020 10:23am)

  • Was working on a community project with LGBT asylum seekers before covid, and still keeping in touch throughout it. Can confirm all that. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 26th Jun 2020 3:03pm)
  • It's seriously awful. Theyve been treated with utter contempt throughout it all. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 26th Jun 2020 3:18pm)
  • Theres good people but theyre really not equipped to deal with it. My friend tried to od last year. I called the ambulance who managed to get there in time to get her to hospital, where they stabilised her. At about 4am, two guys came in to chat to her about her mental health for about 20 minutes and then at 6am she got discharged with absolutely no plan of continuing support or indication of what services she had available to her. It was literally good luck, hope we don't see you again. After a bit of a rest we went her gp who eventually refered her to the mental health crisis team at stobhill after a frankly unnecessary amount of persuasion. While lovely, in her particular case the best they could do was arrange a schedule of checking on her over the phone regularly for the next few weeks. We set up a group of friends to take shifts living with her for a month because in her own words she was scared to be left on her own because of where her thoughts went without someone to distract her. But that's just not always possible for people in these kinda situations, who perhaps don't have a support network. I really dread to think how many people have been lost because these services don't have the resources they need to adequately support people. by ChloeDancersCrown (Sat 27th Jun 2020 1:11pm)
  • Exactly, but not everyone has that support system. Or have well meaning loved ones who just don't know how to help. by ChloeDancersCrown (Sat 27th Jun 2020 2:19pm)
  • Like others have said, referral through a gp is the main route. Alternatively you could find a private counsellor if you can budget it, but be prepared to pay approximately 50 quid per session. Without wanting you to share your partners situation, if there's anything it could be related to such as a health issue or trauma etc, there may be services available for that particular thing. by ChloeDancersCrown (Sun 28th Jun 2020 1:10pm)
  • Was in the park when it happened, though didn't see the incident itself. The number of police, fire brigade and ambulances was staggering. Tragic that they couldn't save him. by ChloeDancersCrown (Wed 1st Jul 2020 11:53am)

  • Tbh in this day and age it would be great if all people argued about on Facebook was such trivial things. by ChloeDancersCrown (Wed 1st Jul 2020 11:55am)
  • It's bonkers. Some colleagues of mine did a study on the effectiveness of masks catching particles from coughs and sneezes, and theyve been getting emails from nutters ever since it was published. They're probably even people who would laugh at Korean fan death conspiracies as the nonsense that they are. by ChloeDancersCrown (Wed 1st Jul 2020 12:18pm)
  • When it comes to buying, choose location first, and then whatever you can budget within that area. Don't be sucked in by a bigger, newer place if its in an area you're not comfortable with. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 6th Jul 2020 10:28am)
  • This subreddit was pretty up in arms over that too tbf by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 6th Jul 2020 4:42pm)
  • Probably because all but the folk right at the front were well spaced and wearing masks. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 6th Jul 2020 5:20pm)
  • The simds great, but it also has to be taken with a pinch of salt sometimes. It lists my area in gorbals as in the most deprived decile, marking it in the same shade as the likes of possil, Easter house etc. Relative to somewhere like Milngavie or Newton Mearns sure, but relative to each other not a chance. by ChloeDancersCrown (Tue 7th Jul 2020 11:04am)
  • It's totally fine. I've been out for years now, been been all over Glasgow in that time, and the only hassle I ever got early on when it was more obvious was some bams at braehead shouting "who da man?!" at me. West end will be fine. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 20th Jul 2020 1:18pm)
  • Try nextdoor.com, it's like a Facebook with more emphasis on geographic location. by ChloeDancersCrown (Tue 21st Jul 2020 12:18pm)
  • Oh I know. In retrospect I see it for what it is. Doesn't change the fact it completely ruins your day at the time though. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 24th Jul 2020 11:02am)
  • Seconded. I'm in gorbals too and I've staggered home steaming at 4am zillions of times, and I can probably count on one hand the number of other people I've ever seen about at that time. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 24th Jul 2020 4:15pm)
  • Venues ain't gonna be open any time soon. But if/when they do, barrowlands and King tuts book a lot of rock/punky stuff. Bars wise rufus t firefly is good. As for bands, start with girobabies maybe? I'm not really into punk so I can't help much more than that tbh. by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 27th Jul 2020 12:28pm)
  • Plusnets usp is that they have great customer service. by ChloeDancersCrown (Tue 28th Jul 2020 4:55pm)
  • Seconded. If I'm off work on a normal day and take the car out in the morning and come back before 5, office workers have likely nicked all the spaces. by ChloeDancersCrown (Wed 29th Jul 2020 2:34pm)

  • Got a call from my housing association saying that water was leaking into my downstairs neighbours. Was jumping in the car to shoot home and they called back to say they'd got the numbers wrong, it was the person across the hall. Now on an awful adrenaline comedown just as I have to go into a video call and present some dissapointing findings. Feel like shite. by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 31st Jul 2020 3:01pm)

  • Urgh that's awful. So sorry for your loss. What was his name? I'm taking mine tommorow for their annual jabs and a check up, and the little missus has been turning her nose up at food this week. I. Hoping its just because she's picky and I opened a box of fish whisk as rather than meaty ones. by ChloeDancersCrown (Thu 6th Aug 2020 12:08pm)
  • Hey, sorry to hear you're having a rough time. Is there any activity that you know takes your mind off things? Even something really simple like having a long soak in the tub. Do you have a support network? by ChloeDancersCrown (Fri 7th Aug 2020 5:05pm)
  • But why? by ChloeDancersCrown (Mon 10th Aug 2020 10:35pm)
  • Anybody ride penny skateboards/cruisers around town? With covid I'm looking to get about without using public transport or my car, and I've had bikes stolen in the past so can't be arsed with that again. I know glasgows roads and pavements ain't exactly smooth, but is it manageable to get around city centre/west end/Pollokshaws etc on one, or is it just too uneven and would I just be wasting my money? by ChloeDancersCrown (Tue 11th Aug 2020 11:10am)
