  • I'm considering going. My boyfriend and I moved here recently but outside of those I met through college and he sees at work, we honestly don't see anyone in specific. It'd be nice to have a bunch of new people to chill with. by EvaScrambles (Fri 11th Jan 2019 2:45am)
  • I moved just outside Springburn recently for college and thought "Hey, this place is actually quite alright." Then I went to check out the shopping centre. That's when I understood. by EvaScrambles (Mon 18th Feb 2019 6:57am)
  • Thing is as well, I seen a bunch of iffy stuff (surrounding the centre, funnily enough) while I was researching the area before moving in, and was pleasantly surprised to see my immediate surroundings basically just consists of families and old people. Even the walk through Springburn to college wasn't alarming in the slightest. Then I went to Farmfoods. by EvaScrambles (Mon 18th Feb 2019 8:13pm)
  • My younger sister went there once during the day and reported back that it's filled with "neckbeards." Now, I thought to myself that that was mean of her to say and it couldn't be that bad, but now I'm concerned. by EvaScrambles (Sun 10th Mar 2019 1:55am)
  • Cheers. Now to find a second calculator. by EvaScrambles (Fri 22nd Mar 2019 11:00am)
  • That's a biiig oof. The exam, that is ^^ if perchance either of us remembers in another few weeks, I'd really appreciate the gesture :D by EvaScrambles (Mon 25th Mar 2019 6:07am)
  • This could be tricky logistically and exhausting, but I done a stint as a cleaner for a few weeks. Other than that, maybe offer tuition in a class or two you're good in. by EvaScrambles (Mon 25th Mar 2019 8:20am)
  • To be fair, Polish meat would be a good alternative. Though obviously there's a bunch of different recipes, the meat itself is very similar. Source: am German. by EvaScrambles (Mon 25th Mar 2019 8:26am)
  • If you're susceptible to bribery, hmu xoxox by EvaScrambles (Mon 25th Mar 2019 9:06pm)

  • I have 0 experience with student accommodation as a whole, but Rightmove might be an alright place to start. by EvaScrambles (Thu 25th Apr 2019 6:48am)
  • Lived in Balornock for a year now, place is dead once the shops close. Worst I've had so far are kids kicking about now and again, maybe a loud car. It's bliss! by EvaScrambles (Fri 26th Jul 2019 2:16am)
  • If you're a student, maybe find out if your university website has somewhere dedicated to flatshare? Rightmove could be an option, too, but idk how it works. by EvaScrambles (Mon 9th Sep 2019 10:46am)
  • I believe I've come across people only letting rooms before, could be worth finding out. by EvaScrambles (Mon 9th Sep 2019 11:09am)
  • What? by EvaScrambles (Fri 13th Sep 2019 1:54pm)
  • been living in Springburn for a year, group of 4 flats. The two big metal bins get picked up fine. Our two blue bins (normal size) haven't been emptied since I moved in. by EvaScrambles (Fri 13th Sep 2019 1:53pm)
  • why on earth would someone nick a bin? by EvaScrambles (Sat 14th Sep 2019 1:32pm)

  • Okay but I need a hairdresser. My hair is really low maintenance and all I want is a decent trim. Do you have any recommendations? Preferably right next door to me as I hate going out of my way, and has to have at least five different certificates from high standard organisations. Sorry if this has been asked before xoxo by EvaScrambles (Fri 29th Nov 2019 2:53pm)
  • Congratulations!!! Also, my lecture got cancelled because of you lot, so thanks for that xoxo by EvaScrambles (Fri 6th Dec 2019 12:16am)
  • Where even is the main bar? I was planning on meeting somewhere there but I had never heard of the place. Trying to navigate it from the outside was so stressful I just left. by EvaScrambles (Tue 31st Dec 2019 1:48am)
  • So where's the mysteriousness coming from? I'm beyond confused by EvaScrambles (Thu 30th Jan 2020 10:17pm)
  • Wait, the council now charge for bulk waste pickup? Or am I reading something wrong? by EvaScrambles (Tue 4th Feb 2020 7:53am)
  • Springburn is a haven for litterbugs. I live just outside of it so it's not "as" bad, but my walk to the shopping centre gets progressively more disgusting. I also live above two shops and people never, ever use the bin that's literally a five second walk away. I actually witnessed a couple leave the shops, hop into their car, and empty out the rubbish they had in there onto the road before driving off. My commute to uni is also quite the visual experience (anything on the 8/90 bus route from Springburn to hillhead). by EvaScrambles (Fri 21st Feb 2020 2:34pm)
  • I wish I could drive. Their rice bags are always so huge and I've been dying to get one for a while. Now THIS happens. by EvaScrambles (Sat 14th Mar 2020 3:05pm)
  • Well, they've started raiding the corner shop downstairs this afternoon. So far they're out of crisps, chocolate, and alcohol. The cleaning and hygiene products, including tp last I checked, remain untouched. by EvaScrambles (Sat 14th Mar 2020 4:32pm)
  • That makes a lot of sense. Just a little alarmed because any articles about it have been removed from various sources. Makes it seem a little fishy, I suppose. by EvaScrambles (Fri 27th Mar 2020 12:48pm)
  • Ah, thank you! by EvaScrambles (Fri 27th Mar 2020 1:55pm)
  • That makes sense, I wasn't aware. Does this count for individual officials too? Or just troops in general? And why hasn't the BBC link been taken down? by EvaScrambles (Fri 27th Mar 2020 6:23pm)
  • Are you okay by EvaScrambles (Sun 14th Jun 2020 5:23pm)
  • That's fair, it's still early days so I'm just exploring all options at the moment. Like to have all bases covered :> by EvaScrambles (Sun 14th Jun 2020 5:22pm)
  • Noted. Thank you! by EvaScrambles (Sun 14th Jun 2020 5:21pm)

  • I had assumed that the whole "as long as things are chill by that point" part is a given. You're preaching to the choir. by EvaScrambles (Sun 14th Jun 2020 7:03pm)
  • wait it is??? by EvaScrambles (Mon 15th Jun 2020 3:56am)
  • Just out of curiosity, and I'm just hazarding a guess... Paesano sounds pretty good, do you enjoy the place? :D by EvaScrambles (Tue 16th Jun 2020 8:42pm)
  • Well, looks like I know what we'll be having on another night, then. :D by EvaScrambles (Tue 16th Jun 2020 9:27pm)
  • My dad forced me to do this shit to get home from (never to) school. I hated doing it but tbh it was kinda fun. The bois do be looking pissed tho by EvaScrambles (Sat 27th Jun 2020 8:19pm)
  • Unfortunately, it's exactly this kind of thinking which will cause more spikes/waves. by EvaScrambles (Sat 18th Jul 2020 9:40pm)
  • I hate to say it, but... What annual electoral canvas? by EvaScrambles (Tue 15th Sep 2020 6:52pm)
  • Oh that thing! I didn't realise it was supposed to be annual, we sent ours in after moving and haven't heard from them since (still correctly registered as of last December, too). Cheers for clearing that one up :) by EvaScrambles (Tue 15th Sep 2020 8:02pm)
  • True, but hopefully this isn't the only session they're doing. by EvaScrambles (Thu 24th Sep 2020 8:20pm)
  • Was it German Deli you ordered from? I found them too, but they're not taking any for the timeframe I'm looking at, unfortunately. Did manage to source one eventually, but I'd still love to know for future reference :') by EvaScrambles (Sun 13th Dec 2020 9:59pm)
  • May the experiments begin... by EvaScrambles (Sun 13th Dec 2020 10:31pm)
  • Bad timing for new student flats, is it not? (do hope nobody gets hurt.) by EvaScrambles (Tue 4th May 2021 2:56am)
  • Fun tidbit is that most businesses in Germany only do debit, and that's if you're lucky. by EvaScrambles (Thu 15th Jul 2021 6:17pm)
  • The nose blindness is amazing. I recently stopped, and my sister came over and popped out for a smoke... almost keeled over when she came back inside. by EvaScrambles (Fri 17th Dec 2021 12:53pm)
  • Birmingham. Birmingham is the worst. I've flown a lot and of all UK airports, that one is the most harrowing. by EvaScrambles (Mon 20th Dec 2021 7:58pm)
  • Did you go on days that weren't designated drop-in dates by any chance? Would be one less thing to worry about. The specific reason is personal preference for the Oxford one - a medical reason would make this a lot easier :') by EvaScrambles (Sat 16th Apr 2022 5:45pm)
  • Ah, that had gone completely over my head. Thanks for the info!! by EvaScrambles (Sun 17th Apr 2022 2:31pm)
  • Maybe see if it's not too late for an escape room! by EvaScrambles (Mon 9th May 2022 5:47pm)
  • I remember being about 14 and ending up stranded in the city centre (lived out in the boonies at that point). Ended up waiting about where they were playing, and as they were wrapping up, one of them sat down with me for a good wee while before they all left. They're a good bunch. by EvaScrambles (Sat 14th May 2022 4:19pm)
  • There's also a sinkhole-type situation at Broomfield Park in the Springburn area. Loving the lopsided office floor so far! by EvaScrambles (Thu 28th Jul 2022 12:47pm)
  • I've seen the term "forced-birthers" thrown around. Quite fond of that one. by EvaScrambles (Wed 24th Aug 2022 2:45pm)
  • Glasgow Club is another chain of gyms, they have facilities in almost every part of the city. Not used any other but been very happy with them! Have any service you could ask for and super friendly. by EvaScrambles (Fri 26th Aug 2022 1:55pm)
  • Perhaps meet them in the middle - offer another £25 on top but no increase for the next three years, for instance. They get their undeserved pay-bump, and you've got a little bit of a safety net. With some luck, the market will have settled by the point they'd ask for more. by EvaScrambles (Sat 27th Aug 2022 10:42pm)
  • I don't even call ahead (I really should but am constantly forgetting) and I've never had an issue! Busses too, as long as the cat's in a carrier there shouldn't be a problem. by EvaScrambles (Wed 5th Oct 2022 2:08pm)
  • Have you looked into any societies? They're probably the best way for someone in a Master's to get to know people for socialising. by EvaScrambles (Thu 26th Jan 2023 12:18pm)
  • The distance to my house to Uni is around 15 minutes by car. The bus takes 1-1.5 hours. I can't drive, and cycling in this city feels like asking to be murked. I don't go to campus a lot. by EvaScrambles (Thu 26th Jan 2023 10:13pm)
  • See, that's the thing - I do have alternatives for public transport, but would take a considerable amount of time to and throw in changes between modes of transport and considerably more shite weather. Wouldn't mind walking as much if it wasn't Scotland I live in. The times the weather's nice, I don't even have class! by EvaScrambles (Fri 27th Jan 2023 12:43am)
  • I've been on the ADHD waitlist since December 2021. Back then the estimated wait was 52 weeks, then they bumped it to 70. Could be that you're waiting for longer than that at this point. by EvaScrambles (Tue 21st Mar 2023 12:11pm)
  • Am also confused about the downvotes. A hat is a hat, the style is entirely down to culture as far as I can tell, and there's a lot of overlap between Jews and muslims in that regard. Besides that, you really just need to pay attention to the fabric composition... by EvaScrambles (Tue 21st Mar 2023 12:18pm)
  • I'm very confused as to why seeking treatment for a suspected disability isn't a good idea. by EvaScrambles (Thu 8th Jun 2023 1:52pm)
  • Hey, am in a similar boat as you. The question of ADHD was posed in my mind just about two and a half years ago, have been on the NHS waitlist since. It keeps getting longer, unfortunately, and I have a sinking feeling it's cost me my degree (waiting on my final results now). Don't put off getting in touch with your uni's disability service. Even if you don't have any certifications, there's a VERY good chance that they'll still give you the appropriate support. I went to UofG, so if you want to know more about how they handled it there, do let me know. With that being said, I'm positive that every other uni will have something in place for you, waitlist or not. I can't speak for any private doctors, but I'd suggest getting on the NHS list anyway. There's no harm in that. by EvaScrambles (Thu 8th Jun 2023 1:51pm)
  • I'm on the HCSP's list and have been since December 2021. They're crunching through October now, as of today there's still 300 odd ahead of me :) by EvaScrambles (Wed 9th Aug 2023 2:39am)
  • A pool that's uninteresting to kids and rowing machines. by EvaScrambles (Sat 12th Aug 2023 8:39am)
  • But are you a protestant agnostic or catholic agnostic?/j by EvaScrambles (Sat 26th Aug 2023 2:27pm)
  • "Treat them respectfully" is, amazingly, an approach that is seldom used with children and adolescents. Sure, a cheeky cunt will be a cheeky cunt, but more often than not there's good outcomes to be had if you just treat them like people. Their brains aren't fully developed yet, but you can tell them that and treat them that way until you're blue in the face. Might as well have a normal chat, especially if they have something to gain from it. by EvaScrambles (Tue 19th Sep 2023 3:51am)
