  • It's because they refuse to adapt their payment system, I use a national entitlement card due to disability, and it takes for-fucking-ever to process the ticket, on the bus, take out the card, put it on the scanner, wait 3 seconds, then it goes beep, then the driver, types shit in, and it prints out a piece of paper with a McDonald's ad on the back, an actual piece of paper, in 2019, think of that, add that up for passengers that are mostly elderly people, then it's no surprise the buses are always late, and right next to eachother (I call mine the 267 twins cos there's always two of the fuckers at once, which means you need to wait 20 minutes for the next one). They spend all their money on paint jobs for their buses that no one cares about, which leaves none for an oyster card system with build in discounts which you can apply for online, or I dunno, an app, that actually tracks the buses, doesn't just predict based on timetables, that would be nice, but how long will that take? Fuck knows. by FriendshipLloyd (Tue 22nd Jan 2019 6:49pm)
  • Kohi-Noor for me, near the Mitchell, been going there for years, it's buffet style at tea time too which is bangin. by FriendshipLloyd (Mon 28th Jan 2019 12:49pm)

  • As somebody on crutches, I can confirm I would not be able to cross renfrew street by the cinema, if they were even a second faster. They're so quick that to get from cinema to the bus station, I have to cross twice, going diagonal means I won't have time to make it. by FriendshipLloyd (Sat 17th Aug 2019 8:08am)
  • DELETED Contact the Citizen's Advice Bureau (one in Bell Street), they cover cases of discrimination, which I would argue this falls under given that a swastika is universally seen as a symbol of threat. by FriendshipLloyd (Fri 8th Nov 2019 9:48am)
  • His accent is about in the medium-heavy range, but depends on the social circles you roam in really, and what shop you'll work in, if it's a supermarket you'll get everyone obviously, from Glasgow-uni accents which are very easy to understand since they're often Anglocised/Americanised, to middle class teacher accents who also are easy to understand I would imagine since they kind of have to be, to blue collar worker accents which in my experience are the heaviest, even I struggle with them and I grew up just north of here. As most have said already though, no one reasonable is going to get offended if you didn't understand something, most people around here that I know, myself included swap accents sometimes, I live with an English guy, so I subconsciously drop some of my old accent when I'm with him, if I'm using terms like "mockit" or "heehaw" around him I'm gonnae be asked to repeat it. So every Scottish person goes through that. by FriendshipLloyd (Sun 5th Apr 2020 3:50am)
  • Conservation activities and community gardening, chance to meet all sorts there, any form of volunteering honestly, I'm a non drinker and have a mild phobia of alcohol and pubs, so in a roundabout sense, I'm in a similar position I suppose. Only thing I could suggest is don't be afraid to invite your pals to such an activity, even if you think it wouldn't be up their street. by FriendshipLloyd (Sat 26th Sep 2020 6:47pm)
  • Would love to play "far right provocateur bingo" wae this cunt's twitter follow list, I do that wae other folk all the time. by FriendshipLloyd (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 12:36am)
  • Hahaha there's a salty Uber driver somewhere in this thread, can see them voting down innocuous posts. by FriendshipLloyd (Sun 25th Jul 2021 5:13pm)
  • For me, this is the norm at the moment, especially at rush hour where they get very picky about the trips, I use cabs a fair bit, and they consistently cancel on me at least once or twice. Worst part there's no way to voice displeasure, because Uber refuses to keep a record of people who accept but cancel. Don't understand exactly how it works, but it's clearly systematic and I'm sick of it. by FriendshipLloyd (Sun 25th Jul 2021 5:10pm)
  • I was at the airport a week ago, at about 10pm, no prebooked available on all apps, and the black cabs were the only ones running any cars, but I dont know how many there would normally be, there was a large queue, but I suspect that was because of the lack of prebooked at the pickup area. I was waiting at the prebooked for about half an hour before I clocked it, because I normally avoid black cabs due to their prices. by FriendshipLloyd (Wed 1st Sep 2021 3:36pm)
  • Tiffany's Cafe on Glassford st, it's not amazing or anything, just bog standard fry-ups, but cheap, staff are friendly. by FriendshipLloyd (Tue 26th Apr 2022 8:13pm)
  • Just sounds funny tbh. Maybe it's cause I'm disabled and rarely feel any threat of violence from anybody (pity protection is a real thing). But aye I do think you need thicker skin than that to feel comfortable anywhere nevermind Glasgow. by FriendshipLloyd (Mon 24th Apr 2023 12:51am)
  • Nail on the head there, it's because there's been a sudden influx of clatty cunts, whose arrival happens to coincide with cuts to the council. Ape-like analysis. by FriendshipLloyd (Sat 6th May 2023 5:06pm)
  • Hmmm. Let's run through those reasons. -The increasing wealth divide. -A rise in autocracies and fascism. -The warming climate showing little sign of slowing down. -AI becoming dangerous and out of control. Not sure where "fake titted host of a banal radio show in central Scotland" fits in the rankings but I'm sure it's up there. by FriendshipLloyd (Mon 15th May 2023 1:15am)
  • Nah, this is Tory mentality, blame an obvious systemic issue on individuals, while shutting down any solutions. by FriendshipLloyd (Fri 26th May 2023 12:32pm)
  • You would need a streetcar or a tram and preferably a concrete path for crutch users, anything that isn't concrete is very dangerous to use in the rain for those with walking aids, and cobble is a pain to walk on too. by FriendshipLloyd (Sat 4th Nov 2023 1:37pm)
