  • My advice would be to take vitamin D supplements by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Thu 15th Sep 2022 10:30am)
  • I know of a pretty mad place that may work. When I lived there my flatmate was over from America and the landlord didn’t care. He doesn’t care about anything as long as you the pay the rent. I say it’s a mad place because it is, the block is kind of legendary when it comes to parties. At a job interview my interviewer had been to a party there. Would hear that a lot when telling people where I lived. It’s a pretty communal spot with a lot of artists and all that comes with being in the arts… I ran away in the end because the madness became too much for me, I was starting a full time job and it just wouldn’t be feasible living there - but a young American student may love it. Rent around £350 and then it would be about trying to find a cash in hand job (which isn’t easy these days - but doable). If you want any info dm me and I’ll see if I can put you in touch with someone who still lives there. by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Sat 17th Sep 2022 10:36am)
  • Is your landlord Mr Khan lol? by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Tue 27th Sep 2022 8:46am)
  • I left in April, but I still haven’t found a steady home - still in the process. From the turbulent time I’ve had since leaving, I’d recommend finding somewhere secure you are definitely happy with moving to, if you do decide to move in the end. My boyfriend’s bathroom also had a super bad damp problem for a long long time (I think at least a year) and just in the last week has work started getting done - the whole thing there is having to be ripped out. He just kept getting on at the landlord concerning it. Him and his flatmate also got £100 of their rent until the work got done so maybe worth asking for a reduced rent rate until then. Your home is one of the most important, stabilising factors in your life. You wanna make sure you’re somewhere safe that you love. The only advice I could give has already been given - contacting citizens advice and joining living rent. Wishing you all the best! by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Tue 27th Sep 2022 1:11pm)

  • No. No he does not. by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Sat 1st Oct 2022 2:46pm)
  • Went Tintos in Battlefield last week and was thoroughly disappointed. Food was low quality and servings were stingy, even for tapas. Café Andaluz was leagues better. by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Wed 5th Oct 2022 11:31pm)
  • Loool. See I’ve used Glasgow gym pools a few times and didn’t enjoy it too much. Did the village gym pool on a trial basis and it totally spoiled me. Heated pool. Sauna, steam room and minimal screaming weans lol. by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Wed 12th Oct 2022 11:38pm)
  • My last job got me a 10% discount on certain gyms but my student discount tends to be a little better by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Thu 13th Oct 2022 9:52am)
  • It’s too expensive for me right now or I would join. Why I’m looking for somewhere where I can just join to swim, as my assumption is it would be cheaper than 40-50 quid a month by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Thu 13th Oct 2022 9:51am)
  • Not an answer to your question but The Lion Chambers is one of my favourite buildings in Glasgow and can find some info on it through googling it if you haven’t already! by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Thu 13th Oct 2022 8:18pm)

  • Walking back from Tesco in the *literal falling down snow* today when I see a guy walking about with his tap aff. It was such an unusual sight that my brain didn’t actually process it as unusual until my boyfriend brought my attention back to it. Like my brain went “snow, snow, snow, taps aff cool, snow, snow, snow, wait a minute…” . by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Tue 13th Dec 2022 10:00pm)
  • Calling absolute bullshit on “therapy culture is a problem”. Drinking culture is a problem. Drug culture is a problem. Violence culture is a problem. And the large majority of these problems come from? Poverty. Glasgow especially is a culture of misplaced peoples, and there is a whole bunch of ancestral trauma to think about, as well as trauma in people’s own lives which has been passed through generations - thanks to a lack of healing and understanding about our own psychology and emotional well-being. We’re bombarded with psychologically aimed adverts everyday and the “convenience obsessed modern society” is a result of that. People need help in understanding how to heal themselves, it’s not as simple as “suck it up”. your bitterness and lack of love and understanding for others is just a representation of what you still need to heal In yourself. by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Wed 4th Jan 2023 11:47am)
  • Who are these “victims” you speak of and how do you know any specifics about them? Who are you to say that those who “suck it up” have any more survival skills than those who want to process emotions? Sucking it up, isn’t a survival skill. You can want therapy and still know how to build shelter, cook food on a fire, forage, hunt etc. Wanting to understands one’s own psychological and emotional self doesn’t equate to victim hood. It has absolutely nothing to do with “survival in vicious wild west society”. As a wise friend once told me, it’s survival of the connected, not survival of the fittest. by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Wed 4th Jan 2023 11:37pm)

  • I know you said you would probably skip Italian but Battlefield Rest in Southside has amazing Italian food and a really lovely energy - you’re welcomed like regulars. Even though it can get really lively and quite buzzing, it still feels pretty intimate. by Mission_Restaurant_3 (Tue 21st Feb 2023 6:15pm)
