  • I've noticed it at Trongate as well, London road. There's a crossing with traffic lights just before the tower, because it's not a junction/crossroads, drivers speed past without paying attention to these lights, very dangerous for people crossing. I'm always very wary crossing there because of this.   • You'll be absolutely fine getting a job in retail, you don't need to be Scottish, just need to speak English. Kevin Bridges is quite like glaswegian, if you can understand him you'll be fine most of the time. If there are some folk you don't understand, there's no harm in asking them to repeat, we're quite happy to do that.   • Spin Pottery in the hidden lane has lots of cute clay items for sale, and you can book to paint a clay thing and they'll fire it for you. You can also book to make your own clay thing on the rotary table, there's a big wait list for that though. Porteous and Co, also down the hidden lane, sell lots of beautiful handmade soaps, scarfs and art prints.   • Walked through the town yesterday to see all the restaurants closed, it's a sad sight to see. Iberica has a to let sign up, and bread meats bread had disappeared. Luckily we saw it's setting up shop closer to central, that was a relief.   • I live in st andrews square, it's very quiet. St Andrew's st has the odd police car and such but I wouldn't be concerned. If you're living close to saltmarket road it will get a bit noisy with the traffic.
