  • I know Walkabout shows NFL, possibly NHL too. by Paritys (Tue 23rd Apr 2019 10:01am)
  • Basically it's tough as fuck mate, every students looking for the same thing as you, and your price being a little lower than others limits your options further. Basically need to be checking rightmove, gumtree etc every hour (or have email alerts on) and phone right away for a viewing as soon as possible. by Paritys (Tue 30th Apr 2019 12:00pm)
  • Theres one at glasgow uni, down near the GUU by Paritys (Mon 17th Jun 2019 5:20pm)

  • They announced massive restructuing to the metros. In my shop they've laid off about ten full time folk who've been there for years and replaced them with 20+ new part time staff, all young. Also adding new higher shelves to make it easier to restock some stuff, making the place feel claustrophic as fuck. And got rid of the deli. And making shifts shorter, removing breaks etc. by Paritys (Mon 30th Sep 2019 11:00pm)
  • Basically means every year there's a 10% chance of it being flooded. Don't know the answer to your second question, sadly. by Paritys (Tue 19th Nov 2019 10:05am)
  • Definitely a nice treat for the films you really want to see. Make sure you dont get the seats down the front, as I feel they're a bit too close to the screen. All round pretty good the few times I've been. by Paritys (Mon 9th Dec 2019 1:05pm)
  • Loving the stuff down the bottom of Byers Road. Had a quick look but couldn't see, what's the timeline for stuff like this? How long before stuff is actually getting done? by Paritys (Wed 8th Jan 2020 10:38am)

  • What is/was Partick's identity? by Paritys (Wed 11th Mar 2020 4:09pm)
  • I've been around the area for the past 6 years and I can't say I'm too upset about all the run down shops being replaced with great restaurants. Being so close to the Uni meant change was inevitable. by Paritys (Wed 11th Mar 2020 4:32pm)
  • Being internationally focused doesn't matter as much at this point when they're moving to delay. The main focus now os restricting large gatherings which gigs, sports stuff has larger crowds than a uni lecture hall for example, especially since lectures are always half empty anyway and have been even quieter this past week. by Paritys (Fri 13th Mar 2020 12:14pm)
  • Running that checklist of stereotypes aint ye by Paritys (Thu 2nd Apr 2020 10:31am)

  • Cheers! by Paritys (Wed 27th May 2020 6:17pm)

  • The red cross on Byers Rd was the only one I saw open when I took a wander up earlier. by Paritys (Mon 29th Jun 2020 5:58pm)
  • Cept they're not advocating banning a type of speech because they don't agree with it, they're advocating banning a type of speech because it's demonstrably false and inciting damaging infrastructure and people. Pretty different. by Paritys (Sat 15th Aug 2020 11:10pm)
  • Absolutely people are responsible for their own actions. Thats why they should face consequences when they spout shite that makes others commit crimes. by Paritys (Sun 16th Aug 2020 10:29am)

  • The one at SWG3 is pretty decent if you're looking for an alternative. by Paritys (Tue 1st Sep 2020 2:55pm)
  • That's weird - we had 7 at SWG3 at the weekend and saw a few tables with 8. Also it's only about 10 minutes walk from there to Dumbarton Road, so you could always check out Record Factory or anywhere in that area afterwards. by Paritys (Tue 1st Sep 2020 4:26pm)

  • The fires on Suchiehall St didn't help either, place looks absolutely shite now. They should be building new residental spots in there with cafes/small shops on the ground floor. by Paritys (Mon 1st Feb 2021 3:22pm)
  • Had a good experience with Happy Lets, but currently arguing with MacLeod Lettings about getting my deposit back minus their ridiculous reductions. by Paritys (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 1:34pm)
  • Currently ongoing! Tried to sort it with them before going to SafeDeposits but their correspondence was shockingly unhelpful. by Paritys (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 1:38pm)
  • > I have chosen dissertation project for personal reasons of wanting to "learn something completely new" instead of going with what I know well already. May have been a mistake but not much can be done about it now. If you point that out in interviews it can definitely be seen as a strength, "I was wanting to learn new skills so chose something new for my dissertation project" shows self-confidence and the ability to learn new things at a high standard rather quickly! by Paritys (Tue 16th Feb 2021 7:30pm)
  • I've done a couple interviews and started my grad job last Autumn. Smaller companies are more likely to be a shorter interview process, usually right to an in-person interview (or Zoom now probably) after getting your CV. Larger companies will be online quizzes, tests and interviews before a face to face thing. I think most companies that look to hire grads know the score with how universities teach and don't expect you to know everything about topics, so any technical interviews I've had have covered pretty basic stuff. I think it's more how you come across - if you seem friendly, willing to learn and competent you'll be in a good spot. by Paritys (Tue 16th Feb 2021 7:35pm)
  • If you go down past Glasgow Harbour there's the walkway that goes to Clydebank. Could follow it all the way to Balloch if you fancied. by Paritys (Thu 25th Feb 2021 10:13am)
  • Where do I get myself a gallon of Franks?? by Paritys (Wed 3rd Mar 2021 9:55am)
  • 20 quid for a gallon is quite a steal, might need to jump on that. by Paritys (Wed 3rd Mar 2021 10:04am)
  • Good shout on all that mate, cheers! by Paritys (Wed 3rd Mar 2021 10:12am)
  • You might have something they've flagged as underlying health condition too that bumps you up the priority list a bit by Paritys (Wed 10th Mar 2021 1:38pm)
  • Maybe phone your GP? I think they said thats what to do if you're in one of those groups that they've basically finished and you've not had an appointment through yet. by Paritys (Wed 10th Mar 2021 2:10pm)
  • Ahh good shout mate, I knew there was something you phoned but remembered it wrong. by Paritys (Wed 10th Mar 2021 4:17pm)
  • I usually only tip on restaurants if the service has been exceptionally good. You can't really measure 'exceptional service' when it comes to a delivery... by Paritys (Thu 18th Mar 2021 8:32pm)
  • As the other guy said, all your examples there are examples of BAD service. Getting the food to me while it's still a reasonable temperature and within a reasonable time is satisfactory service in my book. Exceptional service is hard to measure when it comes to delivery. by Paritys (Thu 18th Mar 2021 9:30pm)
  • McGhees ones are cracking by Paritys (Sat 20th Mar 2021 6:05pm)

  • Been meaning to give it a shot for like 7am, can imagine the first few workouts would be hell while my body gets used to it but must be worth a shot by Paritys (Mon 26th Apr 2021 9:36am)
  • Cheers for the advice! Just need to get to bed earlier really, once i'm up i'm fine, just getting up without a good sleep is the problem by Paritys (Mon 26th Apr 2021 10:07am)
  • I went to The Newsroom (TCA) before the first lockdown as a comlete beginner and had a great time. Need to get back into it now things are opening up again. by Paritys (Mon 26th Apr 2021 2:57pm)
  • Gym wasn't as busy as I expected around 8.30pm, so going to try make that the usual time and see how it pans out. Walking up Byers Road on the way to the gym and passing all the folk out drinking definitely gives you a thirst for pints by Paritys (Tue 27th Apr 2021 9:01am)
  • Where'd you go in the west end for walk-in? by Paritys (Tue 4th May 2021 2:23pm)
  • Ah fair, aye I go to the gym up there and have barely seen any empty tables there or the parlour every time i've been by by Paritys (Tue 4th May 2021 2:57pm)
  • Loop & Scoop are well known for being cunts and getting students to do unpaid labour as 'trail shifts' with no intention for hiring them. by Paritys (Wed 5th May 2021 12:04am)
  • There's signposts all along the clyde walkway stating it's shared, with plenty bike symbols. by Paritys (Thu 6th May 2021 9:25am)
  • Yeah mate you can just turn up and tell them your name and address, don't need your polling card by Paritys (Thu 6th May 2021 9:31am)
  • What makes it a mountain bike trail? It's part of the national cycle network. Sounds like a normal bike path by Paritys (Thu 6th May 2021 11:23am)
  • Ah right, think we're talking about different parts of it. The stuff along the clyde from partick - glasgow green is very well paved and signposted. by Paritys (Thu 6th May 2021 11:49am)
  • Yeah haha, never realised how long it was by Paritys (Thu 6th May 2021 12:33pm)
  • Simple and effective. BEER by Paritys (Fri 7th May 2021 9:19am)
  • I -think- plans have been submitted for flats at that bit beside riverside museum, which is a bit disappointing. Would be great as a big green space or with some bars/coffee places. by Paritys (Tue 11th May 2021 4:40pm)
  • Anyone know somewhere in the west end that sells Private Eye? by Paritys (Wed 12th May 2021 10:01am)

  • The massive most popular beer gardens like the ones you named will probably be fully booked, but no idea how that'll change come the 17th. by Paritys (Thu 13th May 2021 9:42am)
  • Really? Got a tweet or something showing it? That's pretty nasty if so by Paritys (Sat 15th May 2021 1:22pm)
  • Is it still there? Been a fair few months since i've been by it but I think I remember seeing it was having some kind of closing down sale. by Paritys (Sat 15th May 2021 2:49pm)
  • I think using the term terrorists to describe stupid hooligans is how you get folk arguing and downvoting you there by Paritys (Sat 15th May 2021 10:07pm)
  • Definitely fucking isn't by Paritys (Sat 15th May 2021 10:12pm)
  • Terrorism > the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. These fuds aren't trying to pursue any kind of political aim other than being loud cunts cause they won. They're cunts undeniably, but describing it as terrorism is inaccurate. by Paritys (Sat 15th May 2021 10:26pm)
  • Seems like they're just keeping quiet I think - I know a few young folk in the postcodes who have had a text this week to book in. Hopefully next week is just a 'get booked in if we missed you' type thing. by Paritys (Mon 17th May 2021 5:51pm)
  • Has anyone rocked up to the Hydro and tried to get a leftover vaccine at the end of the day? Whats the protocol there? by Paritys (Tue 18th May 2021 3:03pm)
  • What did you say to them? I'm in G3, same situation (GP is in North Lan) but the guy told me I had to be registered with a Glasgow GP. He said he could give me an appointment but they'd just turn me away at the door since they'd think I travelled. by Paritys (Thu 20th May 2021 3:09pm)
  • Is south lanarkshire the same health board as Glasgow? I think the problem the guy said was because North Lan is a different health board. Might give it another go though if they're not being that strict at the door. by Paritys (Thu 20th May 2021 3:59pm)
  • Picked a good day for it mate, looks to be brilliant. Get the suncream on! by Paritys (Sat 22nd May 2021 9:22am)
  • DELETED Have they changed the rules over the weekend or something? I phoned up last Wednesday but was told I can't get an appointment because I was registered at a GP outside Glasgow, only moved into Glasgow recently and haven't had the chance to register somewhere yet. Did I just get someone who is a stickler for the rules or have they changed them to book in anyone who phones? by Paritys (Sun 23rd May 2021 9:46pm)
  • Aye, was the number you posted. Told the guy I'm registered in North Lanarkshire but live in G3 now and he told me he can't book me one cause they'd think I'd travelled there to get one when I turned up at the door. Thought it sounded a bit odd tbh, might give it another shot tomorrow. by Paritys (Sun 23rd May 2021 9:57pm)
  • Has to be booze surely by Paritys (Mon 24th May 2021 11:31am)
  • Would folk even turn up if there's no booze? Sitting there having a bite to eat and watching the games sound decent enough but if they can't get a bit tipsy it'd take a lot of the fun away. Though there'll be cunts that take it too far of course, but that's what securitys for by Paritys (Mon 24th May 2021 12:18pm)
  • Not to mention all the considerations for keeping distance and stuff. Makes it harder to guage interest, which is hard enough already! by Paritys (Tue 25th May 2021 10:59am)
  • True, slightly better at the start then way harder once it gets to second, third etc. date. I'm useless at the best of times at picking up on hints by Paritys (Tue 25th May 2021 11:09am)
  • That's a good point tbh, didn't think of it like that. Guess outright asking at the moment is the considerate thing by Paritys (Tue 25th May 2021 3:11pm)
  • Not in my experience, but when there's already a layer of awkwardness getting to know someone from some dating app, it makes it slightly more awkward which ain't helpful! by Paritys (Tue 25th May 2021 4:41pm)
  • Will be a usual level of mobbed for a sunny Sunday I imagine, doubt the bank holiday will change much. Going to go do some shopping also, so just going to head in as early as possible and pray it's before the rush. by Paritys (Sun 30th May 2021 8:57am)
  • Should we be hearing soon about if the move to L2 on Saturday is going ahead? Want to hear before I go and try book any weekend activities. by Paritys (Tue 1st Jun 2021 1:25pm)

  • What ink did you get? by Paritys (Wed 2nd Jun 2021 12:55pm)
  • Anyone know of any community bike pumps in the West End? I imagine there's one or two at the Uni somewhere but can't find anything that says. by Paritys (Sun 6th Jun 2021 5:00pm)
  • Just tried that one and its seemingly broke, couldn't get the pump going at all. Cheers though! by Paritys (Sun 6th Jun 2021 5:47pm)

  • Whats this about no more student flats? by Paritys (Tue 22nd Jun 2021 9:21am)

  • Why do you think a taxi is safer than an Uber? by Paritys (Wed 18th Aug 2021 9:00am)
  • Uber has background checks and you literally track yourself the whole way and can share location with mates. Personally always felt safer in an Uber, had some absolute nutters for taxi drivers. by Paritys (Wed 18th Aug 2021 9:37am)
  • I went along by myself before covid - really enjoyed it. How busy is it like now? Been meaning to get back into it. by Paritys (Tue 24th Aug 2021 11:39am)
  • Not too uncommon - to stop folk renting it for a night on the town and coming back pished or having a massive party in it with mates by Paritys (Tue 24th Aug 2021 1:34pm)
  • You don't think the anti-vaxxers fucking awful for putting vulnerable folk in danger? Warped priorities mate by Paritys (Fri 27th Aug 2021 10:58am)
  • Think of it this way - OP wants to make sure the vulnerable people the cleaner comes into contact with are kept safe. You understand that aye? by Paritys (Fri 27th Aug 2021 11:46am)
  • It's OPs responsibility as a decent human being to try and prevent someone possibly harming others. If you saw someone on the street getting their cunt kicked in, would you just do nothing cause it's 'not your business or responsibility' aye? Get that through your skull mate by Paritys (Fri 27th Aug 2021 11:55am)
  • "I'm a fucking idiot" Do you realise this is how you sound? by Paritys (Fri 27th Aug 2021 1:20pm)

  • Aye that's what i mean, 4 years of SAAS living loans is roughly 20k in debt for folk by Paritys (Mon 27th Sep 2021 12:50pm)
  • Anyone else get a council letter about the COP26 closures? Bit gutted the whole riverside is shut for that, I wanted to have a nosey around there and see what was up by Paritys (Wed 6th Oct 2021 1:37pm)

  • What are you hosting? Is it open to the public? by Paritys (Wed 20th Oct 2021 11:52pm)

  • Losing the shite market is hardly the worst thing in the world, especially as the conference will likely have some good come from it. by Paritys (Tue 2nd Nov 2021 12:40pm)
  • Also [leaders plan to end deforestation by the end of the decade.](https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/nov/01/biden-bolsonaro-and-xi-among-leaders-agreeing-to-end-deforestation-aoe?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other) It's also only day 2 of the conference. I get your frustration, but the George Square markets aren't the be-all-end-all of christmassy things in Glasgow. Its a tiny price to pay for the bigger picture. by Paritys (Tue 2nd Nov 2021 1:16pm)
  • Has anyone been to the Cop26 Green Zone at the science center? If so, whats the best way to get to it from the north side of the river? Subway to Ibrox and walk? by Paritys (Thu 4th Nov 2021 9:58am)

  • Just seen a seal in the Kelvin down at the transport museum. Had a fish in their mouth and looked happy. Are they meant to be around this time of year? by Paritys (Mon 27th Dec 2021 3:08pm)

  • Anyone actually had luck trying to phone the council or email their councillor about bin collections? Our blue bins (ironically) haven't been emptied since COP26 and it's now been over a month since the green has been done - today is the second missed collection. Just want to know if it's actually worth my time doing anything more than reporting it on the app. by Paritys (Mon 3rd Jan 2022 5:42pm)
  • Locavore on Dumbarton road does this by Paritys (Tue 4th Jan 2022 11:25am)
  • It's been over a month now since our bins were emptied, and two months since recycle bins were done. Two missed bin uplifts. Bins are more than overflowing and i've got stuff piling up in my flat. Reported it on the app the day after all the missed collections. Fucking hate it. by Paritys (Sat 8th Jan 2022 5:59pm)
  • Aye I feel the same, I've been thinking of emailing the councillors but don't know if that would achieve anything. I'd definitely just let it pile up in the bin area rather than leave it in the flat - would rather have rats all over the bins than the flat. by Paritys (Sat 8th Jan 2022 6:07pm)
  • Bins still haven't been emptied but my report on the app has been marked as 'resolved', stating 'your refuse has now been collected'. Someones having a fucking laugh by Paritys (Mon 10th Jan 2022 4:20pm)
  • Batgirl filming in the west end today? The car park at Kelvinhall Sports is full of trailers by Paritys (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 10:00am)
  • Any clue where/when around west end? Wouldnt mind a nosey by Paritys (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 12:16pm)
  • To add to other suggestions, Fiddlers' is a nice wee pub at Partick too. It's tiny though so might be full on a friday night by Paritys (Fri 4th Feb 2022 8:40am)
  • Love it for that reason haha, was never in it when social distancing was in place cause I bet they must've only been able to fit like 4 people in there! by Paritys (Fri 4th Feb 2022 9:10am)
  • Anyone know a shop in the west end selling that Iron Brew IPA? On the hunt and really want to try it by Paritys (Sat 5th Feb 2022 5:34pm)
  • The council put a couple of benches up on Old Dumbarton Road yesterday, and beside the underpass that leads to the Transport museum. Walking by again today and they're all gone again. What the fuck are they playing at? by Paritys (Sun 27th Feb 2022 2:06pm)
  • Cheers for the info, absolutely hilarious that they lasted 24 hours. Those ones under the bridge were in a terrible spot anyway. by Paritys (Sun 27th Feb 2022 9:24pm)
  • Anyone found a way to book the IMAX yet? Says on the website tickets will be available WB the 11th but not seen anything yet. by Paritys (Mon 11th Apr 2022 2:32pm)
  • Never heard good things about North Lanarkshire council. Labour got complacent and expected to win and thankfully got punished for it. by Paritys (Tue 17th May 2022 8:11pm)
  • It basically will be as soon as the bridge is done or whenever they add stuff to Byers. The bit from Byers road down the Transport museum has been done up in the past year and has a cycle route by Paritys (Sat 21st May 2022 8:17pm)
  • So your food budget is lower because you nick stuff? OLIO and toogoodtogo are useful aye, but can't be relied on since it's down to luck. by Paritys (Sat 11th Jun 2022 11:54am)
  • Parking in residents spot seems like a bit of a risky move? by Paritys (Wed 6th Jul 2022 8:53am)
  • Why are those youtube videos such high quality lol, proper cinematic by Paritys (Fri 5th Aug 2022 12:17am)
  • The last two parcels i've had delivered by them have been fucked up in some way. One missed delivery, and then was "damaged beyond repair" so I had to get the company to resend it, which finally came. Second was just lost at the depot, so *again* had to get it re-sent, was told it had been delivered to a nearby shop. Went there and was told it hadn't been delivered. Went back later and they still didn't have it on their system, but I begged them to search their pile and they found it. Absolutely useless. by Paritys (Thu 24th Nov 2022 7:38pm)
  • Safety standards have moved on a bit since then, I reckon. Not to mention the technology. by Paritys (Sat 7th Jan 2023 6:46pm)
  • Fair point there, I don't know the complexities of the trains themselves but the station renovations are embarrassing. Can't mind the station, but it's been sitting exposed with like mesh over the walls for years. by Paritys (Sat 7th Jan 2023 8:57pm)
  • Have you reported it on the council app with these pictures attached? I reported one on a sunday night recently and it was fixed by the friday. by Paritys (Mon 27th Feb 2023 9:13pm)
  • The council is shit in many ways, I'm not exactly defending them here. Was only sharing my recent experience on this issue. Most other times with stuff like bins I've had to email councillors directly before anything got done, and even then after a long delay. by Paritys (Tue 28th Feb 2023 8:29am)
  • That's still done here. IIRC after changing price you can't change again within 72 hours. Heaps of places in town do half price cocktails Mon-Thurs. by Paritys (Thu 11th May 2023 7:13pm)
  • Looks like a stabbing on Byers Road this morning. Bottom bit of Great George St is cordoned off by police and there's a trail of blood along Byers Rd. by Paritys (Tue 16th May 2023 8:42am)
