I had my daughter up on my shoulders so stood back a bit to not block anyone elses view - maybe get there a bit early if you've got kids that would be standing themselves just to make sure they can get down the front. by RossCowan (Wed 9th Oct 2019 11:54am)

  • Have you seen this UEFA Playmakers thing that's just about to start? It's free and targeted at girls 5-8, specifically about getting them into football. https://www.uefa.com/playmakers/en/ They don't list every place doing it - we've just got my daughter into one at St Mirren park next week and that isn't listed. Sounds like a lot of schools are doing it as well. by RossCowan (Mon 20th Sep 2021 10:14am)
  • My wife is a St Mirren fan and they'd sent an e-mail about it - found this on one of their facebook pages with the same e-mail address: Girls only football ⚽️ Our UEFA Playmakers programme is a great way to encourage girls to play football using Disney as the engagement tool 😁 Sessions start week beginning Mon 27th Sept. Email: foundation@stmirren.com for more info Send them a mail - think it's a Tuesday and Wednesday they're planning to run the sessions. Here's a wee video they did as well from one of the coaches: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=371766557917150 by RossCowan (Mon 20th Sep 2021 10:26am)

  • You're right next to a couple of nice new coffee shops (Roasters and Nomad) and a few decent pubs just a few min away. Should be really nice when the museum refurb stuff is finished as well. by RossCowan (Mon 17th Jan 2022 10:56am)
  • Ignore it. Don't respond at all. They'll eventually send you letters pretending to be lawyers/debt collection agencies etc - ignore those too. They'll stop after a while. Only ever pay ones from the council if you get done parking on the street etc, those are different. by RossCowan (Tue 18th Jan 2022 11:43am)

  • How does this kind of thing work out of interest? You'd go for a consultation and give them all your financial info etc to start off, but what happens afterwards? Do you speak to them once a year or something to update things and just pay a fee every time that meeting occurs? by RossCowan (Fri 20th May 2022 9:59am)
  • Not been in a few years but Waxy's had a huge screen on the lowest level. Watched Germany pump England out the 2010 World Cup in there. by RossCowan (Thu 26th May 2022 11:25am)

  • Nice one - i'm from Cumbernauld originally and i've never heard of that park at all. Might try and get there next time i'm through at my mum and dad's - cheers! by RossCowan (Wed 20th Jul 2022 11:44pm)

  • Cheers - i've never been to the swingpark bit there at all actually so that'd be great. by RossCowan (Wed 20th Jul 2022 11:43pm)
  • Couple of indoor things i've done with my 5 year old over the holidays so far: Pottery Painting at Rouken Glen Pottery - you pick something to paint (£5 through to about £20). We both loved this and spent about 2 and a half hours doing it. Climbing at The Climbing Academy Glasgow(Kinning Park) - just back from this there and it was great. £8 total for as long as you want (spent about an hour and half doing it) and hire of climbing shoes. Great wee kids climbing wall things and a nice cafe. There's one at Maryhill too but i'm not sure what the kids bit is like there. by RossCowan (Thu 21st Jul 2022 1:41pm)
  • Sad Ken by RossCowan (Tue 26th Jul 2022 5:20pm)
  • Are they building a driving range just down from it as well? Must have a lot of faith in the big nets putting it right next to the M74 if that’s what it is. by RossCowan (Wed 27th Jul 2022 8:38pm)
  • Slightly niche question - anyone know any facepainters that do kids parties? Tried 5 or 6 so far that are fully booked and looking for a few more folk to ask. Thanks! by RossCowan (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 12:27pm)
  • If you ever want to use your phone in Paisley don’t bother. O2 mast here has been fucked for ages now and they’re doing nothing about it. by RossCowan (Thu 4th Aug 2022 6:25pm)
  • Is there a reason they don't just have the whole motorway network covered in average speed cameras? Guessing it's either a fortune to setup or they're scared folk would riot? by RossCowan (Fri 5th Aug 2022 3:42pm)
  • M74 4 Life. by RossCowan (Wed 17th Aug 2022 10:48pm)

  • nah - Baird Memorial in Cumbernauld. by RossCowan (Mon 19th Sep 2022 9:46pm)
  • Maybe certain places give them out to senior staff as a perk, but my mum works in John Lewis and doesn't get anything special parking wise. by RossCowan (Tue 20th Sep 2022 10:51pm)
  • Big fan of Us Vs Them at the Gallowgate. Staff are sound as well. by RossCowan (Wed 21st Sep 2022 10:22pm)
  • Good to know - I go to the wee Polish bakers next to that (Brave Bakery - it's class and the guy that runs it is lovely) and that place always smells absolutely sensational when I go past it. Need to try it. by RossCowan (Thu 22nd Sep 2022 9:39pm)
  • East Yonderton is great. Details on their FB but they're taking bookings at the moment: https://www.facebook.com/EastYondertonFarmPYO Wear wellies. It's pretty much just the picking though, no farm shop or anything. by RossCowan (Tue 4th Oct 2022 3:31pm)
  • Roasters near the Uni for breakfast/brunch. by RossCowan (Mon 10th Oct 2022 10:25am)
  • Ah is it shite? Went to Boom Battle Bar and had a good laugh so was hoping that place would be decent as well. by RossCowan (Thu 3rd Nov 2022 4:05pm)
  • They are shite. I'm on Tesco and they use O2 as the carrier. Central Station is a write off, as is Linwood where the mast has been faulty for over a year. by RossCowan (Sun 13th Nov 2022 9:59am)
  • 100%. by RossCowan (Thu 24th Nov 2022 9:32am)
  • Avoid O2 and anyone that uses their network - like Tesco Mobile. The mast in Linwood that covers a big bit of Linwood/Johnstone/Paisley has been broken for ages(at least a year that i've been with them - Twitter comments suggest it's multiple years) and they won't fix it. You log faults on the fault tracker thing and they just either delay the due date, or mark it as fixed despite it still being pumped. Few bad bits in town as well - Central Station in particular. by RossCowan (Tue 20th Dec 2022 5:23pm)
  • My wife ordered vouchers from there for her pal a wee while ago that just arrived the other day - they came in a nice wee box so maybe affected by the strikes worse than if they'd just came in an envelope? by RossCowan (Fri 23rd Dec 2022 5:25pm)
  • I always liked Vespbar/Yesbar. Cool layout with the balcony bit upstairs and they did a good pizza. Dunno what the deal is with it, all the signs etc are still up. by RossCowan (Thu 5th Jan 2023 11:01am)
  • We were just staying in one of these a couple of days ago and it was absolutely fantastic. I don't think it'd be too easy to get to public transport wise though - you'd need to get the bus to Dunure then it's about a 40 minute walk to the cottages along coastal paths and stuff. A great walk but don't think i'd fancy it with my luggage for a few days stay. by RossCowan (Fri 6th Jan 2023 4:30pm)
  • The trampoline places (Gravity at Braehead, Flip Out at Cambuslang etc) do an under 5 session first thing in the morning that's a good fun and a bit different than a soft play. The Climbing Academy at Kinning Park has a great wee kids area - 3 might be a wee bit young to get the full use of it but my 5 year old loved it when we went - she's 6 now and think i'll take her back next week during the holidays. Nice wee cafe as well right next to the kids bit. Glasgow Club do a free play gymnastics thing called PlayGym at Kelvinhall and Palace of Art - you don't need to be a member of the gym, just check the times on the website and turn up. My daughter loved this - they just let them loose in a big hall with all the gymnastics stuff like trampolines/balance beams/etc and they can go nuts. by RossCowan (Fri 10th Feb 2023 9:25am)
  • Ah that’s a shame - it used to be every weekday when we went. by RossCowan (Sat 11th Feb 2023 9:23am)

  • I love Us vs Them in the Gallowgate. by RossCowan (Sun 23rd Jul 2023 11:19am)
  • We went on Saturday morning and got parked no bother on Springfield Road next to the Velodrome, just in one of the wee bits at the side - Google Maps link: https://www.google.com/maps/@55.8453612,-4.2065471,3a,75y,210.37h,82.13t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1svKeopuJxZmKykyWYfwdzYw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu Also just a heads up - it is absolutely roasting inside the actual velodrome arena bit. Was really enjoyable though! by RossCowan (Mon 7th Aug 2023 10:48am)
  • The real highlight of this story is his mate that also gets one of Fantoosh, then arrives back from the holiday to discover it's shut down. by RossCowan (Tue 15th Aug 2023 5:05pm)
  • 111 by Modou is class - my wife and I did the 'pay us £25 each and eat 5 courses of whatever we give you' thing a few weeks ago and it was absolutely brilliant. by RossCowan (Thu 14th Sep 2023 9:59pm)
  • I've never been in, but it smells absolutely incredible any time I walk past it. Always mean to give it a go. by RossCowan (Thu 14th Sep 2023 10:01pm)
