  • The carne asada episode of the taco chronicles shows something that will never be achieved here: traditional "harina" (flour) tortillas. Everyone assumes traditional should be corn, but in Sonora etc they all eat flour tortillas and let me tell you, they're unlike ANYTHING we've got in Glasgow/Scotland/UK. Our shitey rubber crap will never allow us to get great tacos. As for *decent/nice* - Las Iguanas is good. Bibis the best. And El Cartel in Edinburgh. • Great recommendation! Thanks by SCARETRODUCING (Fri 9th Aug 2019 10:43am)
  • All great ideas & thanks for the recommendation as well! by SCARETRODUCING (Fri 9th Aug 2019 11:08am)
  • Will do, thanks! by SCARETRODUCING (Fri 9th Aug 2019 1:00pm)
  • If this is true, thank fuck! Love the Shezan and to lose it + our favourite sushi (Nuku Nuku) within weeks was heart - or stomach - breaking haha by SCARETRODUCING (Sun 19th Apr 2020 4:52pm)
  • Aye....I remember coming back from 18months in Canada in early 2015 and that was one of the first things I noticed stood out, our city is full of dog shite. Even "nicer" areas like Clarkston haven't got the problem solved. People are lazy as fuck by SCARETRODUCING (Mon 28th Sep 2020 7:11pm)
  • Over the last few years there's been a sharp rise in xfactor wannabe buskers. Same old bland ballads time and time again. God forbid somebody plays something uptempo in public. by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 2nd Feb 2021 9:08pm)
  • Far more fannies in Glasgow than we'd like to believe (and we already think there's a lot) by SCARETRODUCING (Fri 5th Feb 2021 12:09pm)
  • G42 also, we got texts through asking to phone and book up... all ready for next week! by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 18th May 2021 5:05pm)
  • Looks like we're Breaking the rules for another week then... And not even for a drink, it's just to go to the fucking cinema! Madness they're shut in level 3 imo Look if Patrick Harvie & other politicians can happily break the rules then shrug and say "soz", then you can too! Wear a mask, social distance etc just be smart with it...but enjoy yourself! by SCARETRODUCING (Fri 28th May 2021 12:42pm)
  • Yup! I do realise at times I might sound like some mad Covid denier or "IT'S ALL A HOAX!" but it's more a case of not trusting those in charge to have any real idea what they're doing. I understand they have figures to support their position but I finally cracked after the whole "East Ren is in the level 3 zone but..." scenario. If you're going to use certain evidence as reason to put these policies into place, don't be so blatant about picking and choosing. I'm sure other people have their own moments of when they gave up listening, it's gonna be our own personal "I remember where I was when I finally had enough of the government's shite" Got 1st vax yesterday so we're finally catching up! (I hope) by SCARETRODUCING (Fri 28th May 2021 1:42pm)
  • That's true to be fair. We're currently paying no-one until this is resolved by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 8th Jun 2021 12:15pm)
  • Spoke to citizens advice who said to pay our letting agent as per the tenancy agreement. Any further behind the scenes issues are for the landlord to resolve with the agent so I've told the landlord we won't be paying him directly as he suggested until he can confirm and prove that all other issues are resolved with the agent. by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 8th Jun 2021 12:33pm)
  • Yeah we're aware of that, thankfully we have family in the area with more than enough space should we get into any difficulty. Ive spoken with the landlord to advise him that Citizens Advice told us to pay the letting agent as per our tenancy agreement and any other issues are for him to resolve with the letting agent, so I told him I won't be paying directly into his account as he suggested until this is resolved. by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 8th Jun 2021 12:31pm)
  • Update: Landlord and letting agent have confirmed they will be meeting on Thursday at 12pm at the office i went to this morning on Clarkston Road, so I'll wait to see what the outcome of that is. Normally we pay on the 10th anyway so I'm withholding payment until after this meeting and they confirm what is to happen going forward. I might also go down for the meeting as it's not far from where we stay by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 8th Jun 2021 12:51pm)
  • It does, right? Ive spoken to citizens advice...but in the meantime the agent & landlord have scheduled a meeting on Thursday afternoon and I'm gonna go down to see what the outcome is. Great fun!.... by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 8th Jun 2021 8:23pm)

  • NBA certainly do - it's kinda cool once you get used to it (very odd first time I heard about it) by SCARETRODUCING (Thu 9th Dec 2021 11:42am)
  • £80k over HR!? And here I was thinking I should've tried harder to bargain with the eventual £7.5k over for a 2 bed in Muirend... My perspective was naïve to say the least! by SCARETRODUCING (Wed 13th Apr 2022 5:09pm)
  • Yup, it really surprised me how little of Glasgow is actually in the movie so I guess if you like how Gotham is portrayed then the answer to the question is an automatic "No" because of Liverpool by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 24th May 2022 11:36am)
  • This is a much better option & nicer area imo (although you'd need to get the train/bus into town every day) https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/85734396?utm_campaign=property-details&utm_content=student&utm_medium=sharing&utm_source=copytoclipboard#/&channel=STU_LET by SCARETRODUCING (Mon 11th Jul 2022 9:05pm)
  • Fexofenadine & nasal spray every morning - prescribed by docter + 1 kenalog injection at the beginning of the season (private treatment approx £100). I understand this won't be necessary for everyone but it's completely changed both mine & my brother's lives. Summer is actually fun now! by SCARETRODUCING (Tue 26th Jul 2022 12:02pm)
  • The wife & I are big horror fans in the southside so thanking you for putting me onto this group - added on FB and we'll see what happens! 👍 by SCARETRODUCING (Mon 19th Sep 2022 11:39pm)
  • Safe Lettings by chance? Just a guess but we used them and had an issue with deposit as well. Contacted Safe Deposit Scotland about it and they referred it to some tribunal thing. Ended up with 1.5x our deposit back. 3x is the maximum punishment which obviously would have been nice but we got more than we put in and it actually wasn't that much effort. If you want to DM and ask anything further I'll do my best to find my old info on it. by SCARETRODUCING (Sat 22nd Jul 2023 8:49am)
  • Just out of Barbie @ Vue St Enoch, interested to know if they fixed the framing by the time your 5:30 screening comes? by SCARETRODUCING (Sat 22nd Jul 2023 4:20pm)
