  • Do people think that the restrictions on household gatherings in Glasgow since September 2020 have been justified? by SCOTL4ND (Tue 11th May 2021 11:17am)
  • Mod to take post down, this is currently blocking the booking process in the target areas (G41 and G42) by SCOTL4ND (Mon 24th May 2021 7:58am)
  • Can anyone explain why you have to be registered with a GP, as far as I'm aware this is not a legal requirement. Many of the target areas will have low rates of people registered with a GP, so how can they access the vaccine? I don't understand why its being tied to this by SCOTL4ND (Mon 24th May 2021 11:09am)
  • Same here, because I'm not registered with a GP. Surely this should have been made clear by SCOTL4ND (Mon 24th May 2021 12:58pm)

  • I'm on the fence about being in favour of legalising. Yes the tax revenues and control of the product would be great, but how do we reduce the number of people using by legalising? • Real world, where people reuse masks for weeks and stuff them in their pocket, wear them under their nose or on their chin. If masks are so effective can you explain what happened last month where our cases went through the roof, while England and Wales remained low. This month, our cases are dropping and both Eng/Wales are increasing, one where masks are mandated the other where it is personal choice by SCOTL4ND (Mon 25th Oct 2021 9:25am)
  • Virus is just taking its natural course. Goes up, hits resistance and then goes down. Please explain how in both Scotland and England during the period from restrictions mostly being relaxed have had both very high and very low cases. • Lets try again: If it gets ditched in the near future it will be a political move, in the same way we saw it getting ditched in England before they even launched it. Which is stupid, shortsighted and dangerous. While the passport sucks, when you look at the difference in infection rates between England and Scotland, **we are doing better****,** because we haven't been as politically motivated in our actions and have done things like this; where it's unpopular but is doing its job. Love it or hate it, it's not going anywhere for a while yet and if it does, you can be sure it's not in the best interest of the public's health! • I just think its a dangerous path to go down of damaging other peoples property and thinking that is ok. • Thanks, just found this below. It seems to imply that you can have a open fire as long as it burns smokeless fuel Under Section 18 of the Clean Air Act 1993, many parts of Scotland are Smoke Control Areas. If you live in a smoke control area it is an offence to produce smoke from a chimney of a building, or a chimney of any fixed boiler or industrial plant, unless you're burning an authorised fuel or using exempt appliances (e.g. burners or stoves). In practice this means that in a smoke control area it is **illegal to burn house coal or wood in an open fire**, although it is legal to burn these in a stove or other appliance that has been approved to burn that fuel. It is also illegal to deliver any unauthorised solid fuels, e.g. wood and normal house coal, to any premises in a smoke control area unless the seller can demonstrate that they were aware that the unauthorised solid fuel is to be burnt in an exempt appliance.
