  • I had neighbours like this when I lived in a block of flats. Floor vibrated to the bass only, had to resort to contacting our shared landlady to try and resolve. No matter how polite and insistent I was, offering them to come in and hear/ feel the music when they insisted it wasnt loud. Fuck those types of people. I get living in flats you'll have extra noise, but to be so inconsiderate is ultimate arsehole. So glad I managed to move to a house in a quieter area. by Saltire_Scot (Fri 31st Jul 2020 11:44am)
  • Fair indeed. I've walked away from a few pubs and bars that didnt have adequate distancing because I dont want to risk passing anything on, or being off sick from work for x number of weeks after finally getting a job during this shit show. by Saltire_Scot (Wed 2nd Sep 2020 10:06am)
  • What about getting her to recreate some of the amazing murals in glasgow out of different materials? You can check them out on google, and theres a map of where they are too and info about the artist. by Saltire_Scot (Sat 19th Sep 2020 9:00am)
  • I SAW THAT TOO! WTF MAN!? by Saltire_Scot (Mon 12th Oct 2020 7:22pm)
  • I'm no American/ Canadian, but now I'm gonna have to make one of these bad boys in honour of your turkey day(s). Made one for friends giving a couple years ago and it was delicious! by Saltire_Scot (Tue 13th Oct 2020 10:36pm)
  • Thanks for the info, I'll follow up with fb! by Saltire_Scot (Sun 18th Oct 2020 4:18pm)
  • Awesome, last I checked there wasnt anything (that I could find) cheers! by Saltire_Scot (Sun 18th Oct 2020 4:16pm)
  • Do you mind me asking how the course was? I'd done an HND in furniture construction and design 10+ years ago (completed right before the 2010 ish recession, handy) and haven't done much since, but I'm keen to make things again! by Saltire_Scot (Sun 18th Oct 2020 4:28pm)
  • https://www.galgael.org This is really the only one I've seen, but can't make heads nor tails of if they're still going. Maybe see you there if it is still going! by Saltire_Scot (Sun 18th Oct 2020 4:30pm)
  • Been happening in the East End for a couple weeks now. Wish they had different hobbies tbh. by Saltire_Scot (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 7:26pm)
  • Love it! I saw this was on via another redditor and myself, partner, and dog went down for a wander last night. Such a cute event and much needed in these times. by Saltire_Scot (Tue 27th Oct 2020 6:12am)
  • Made me wish I had a dashcam as I drove along the M8 this morning. Rolling orange turned into smooth golden yellows. by Saltire_Scot (Tue 27th Oct 2020 8:15pm)
  • I heard nothing, but have woken up to a lovely blanket of fresh snow :) by Saltire_Scot (Thu 3rd Dec 2020 6:06am)
  • Bloody hell, at least blur that image if you can. Fair enough if you wanna see that stuff, but a needle hanging out some guys arm is NSFW. by Saltire_Scot (Sun 10th Jan 2021 8:34am)
  • Aye you're right there mate. I shoulda used my psychic powers to subvert basic hierarchy and read the words before the picture. I'll reddit better from now on. by Saltire_Scot (Sun 10th Jan 2021 10:23am)
  • You're at least half right there tbf, that's enough Internet for me today already. In all seriousness, have a good day bud. by Saltire_Scot (Sun 10th Jan 2021 11:48am)
  • It took an extraordinary amount of time for our glass bin to be delivered. Moved in 17th Jan 2020, didn't see it until the heatwave of summer (great when all you could do was sit in the garden and drink). Peak 1st wave covid, but hey ho. Hopefully yours'll be delivered sooner. Could always scout a large refuse wheelie to do emergency trips to in the meantime. by Saltire_Scot (Mon 18th Jan 2021 12:26pm)
  • I'm doing the opposite with work the now. Keeping this in mind for when things quiet down. Always wondered about that cool wee church. by Saltire_Scot (Wed 20th Jan 2021 3:11pm)
  • It looks so beautiful an hour ago! by Saltire_Scot (Wed 20th Jan 2021 5:29pm)
  • It's still lying thick , but for the most part has been cleared and gritted, much better than this morning. You'll be all good unless you live in the middle of nowhere I think! by Saltire_Scot (Wed 20th Jan 2021 7:41pm)
  • Ok Ron, we found you. by Saltire_Scot (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 3:09pm)
  • Ron Swanson, fictional American Libertarian who works for the Government but doesn't actually believe in it. In Parks and Rec, if you're looking for something to watch during lockdown i'd suggest it. Just came onto Netflix. by Saltire_Scot (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 3:11pm)
  • Fair play, there are better things to do right now it's brightening up. Anyway half of Netflix is pretty rubbish. by Saltire_Scot (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 3:20pm)
  • OK Basil, we found you. 😂 by Saltire_Scot (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 8:45pm)
  • Parter and I bought a few when we first moved to Glasgow this time last year and would regularly go and try and clear up. We kinda gave up as it seemed endless, but noticed others doing the same. Need to start up again, I'd be interested in learning more about what you're wanting to do and if i can, help. by Saltire_Scot (Fri 26th Feb 2021 12:43pm)
  • Great work you're doing. Is it always a weekday you do meets? by Saltire_Scot (Sun 7th Mar 2021 9:46am)
  • I was literally thinking this when i saw the crowds. Puts Glasgow to shame for a small minority. by Saltire_Scot (Mon 8th Mar 2021 10:12am)
  • Get an electrical report if you can. Our house has seemingly dodgy wiring in the spare bedroom, which we're going to see if it's an easy (and safe!) DIY fix, or whether we'll need to get a sparky out to ask us for 10k. Also, fuck Miller Homes and their B.S. sold as seen. Waiting on a refund of £300 before the pandemic hit for a ceiling that collapsed between the old owners moving out and us moving in. by Saltire_Scot (Thu 11th Mar 2021 10:29am)
  • We got a steal in the East End for under that a year ago. Nice area & neighbours (full of trash, but where isn't in Glasgow) and 15 mins from the city center. by Saltire_Scot (Thu 11th Mar 2021 12:51pm)
  • Implementing more bins in and around streets where there are particularly bad litter problems. I.e. Where I live in Garthamlock. Rubbish flying everywhere and few to no bins for said rubbish. I fully understand its an education thing too, folks just chuck stuff wherever they please, but around Cardowan Moss Park there are no bins along the actual trail. Lazy bastards ruin it for the rest of us. (as well as white lives matter BS scrawled on signposts, but that's another matter entirely). by Saltire_Scot (Sat 20th Mar 2021 8:45am)
  • Good call, just reported no less than 7 Road issues on 2 streets alone. Probably better than creating an Instagram and tagging them in every photo of a pothole or fly tip like I was gonna 😂 Terrible interface though on their website, can't give details, only drop a pin and select boxes. Better than nowt I guess. by Saltire_Scot (Sat 20th Mar 2021 5:28pm)
  • Absolutely, I reported a few on the M8 weeks ago and they were sorted within hours! Fingers crossed nicer areas mean more folk willing to look after them too, keep fighting the good fight mate. by Saltire_Scot (Sat 20th Mar 2021 6:10pm)
  • Is there legit a body we can complain to to get these things banned for every Tom, Dick(head) and Harry by now? I very grudgingly don't mind bonfire night, new years and religion, but a god damn draw for fecking football... by Saltire_Scot (Sun 21st Mar 2021 7:54pm)
  • G33 anaw. I want to murder them all. by Saltire_Scot (Sun 21st Mar 2021 7:57pm)
  • Linn Park is beautiful the now, highly suggest it! by Saltire_Scot (Sun 21st Mar 2021 7:55pm)
  • Aye, good call. Wee Davie Linden to the rescue. by Saltire_Scot (Sun 21st Mar 2021 8:56pm)
  • Diwali. Personally I don't follow any religion, but at least I can have a schedule of when to dope my pets up to their eyeballs. by Saltire_Scot (Sun 21st Mar 2021 9:22pm)
  • Tbh, neither have I. I've probably written it off as football related, but that's a drop in the ocean the now. by Saltire_Scot (Sun 21st Mar 2021 10:00pm)
  • I reported a few via the app, and a few via the website. One to my knowledge has already been fixed, so I'm 1/7th happier now! by Saltire_Scot (Wed 24th Mar 2021 5:45pm)
  • There's things called dead weight and live weight loads. Dead weight loads are static like the flooring makeup itself, white goods that won't move etc. Live weight loads are things that do move, ie. You, guests furniture. I'd suggest looking at how much weight you expect to lift (and drop) and convert it to kn/m2 to check, but I think you're most likely to cause cosmetic damage over anything structural. Another friendly suggestion is to lift weights outside if you are in anything bar a detached house due to the sound and reverb that this will cause. • Tonnes at Linn Park too. We picked a few and plan to plant them in our garden. by Saltire_Scot (Thu 25th Mar 2021 10:17am)
  • NED to me is Non Educated Delinquent, but I like the thought of shouting it out in a civilised zoom meeting. by Saltire_Scot (Thu 1st Apr 2021 11:39am)
  • You're definitely not alone here. I'm in the EE too, and I've reported 7, two weeks ago. 2 have been filled, and it's like they just don't notice the same sized (or larger by now) holes right next to them. Bloody disgrace and jobsworths it seems. I'm already paying my CT and going out with a litter picker every few dog walks, wtf else do i have to do as a regular citizen!? by Saltire_Scot (Fri 2nd Apr 2021 12:45pm)
  • Doughnuts go with coffee, I'd suggest a wee gift card for Tantrum Doughnuts at Old Dumbarton Road. Grain and Grind is a good shout for coffee, Labrotorio Espresso in the city centre's coffee is amazing too. by Saltire_Scot (Fri 2nd Apr 2021 2:24pm)
  • Ha ha, clearly seeing what I want to see! Absolutely tantrum and health don't go hand in hand, but life is all about balance. by Saltire_Scot (Sat 3rd Apr 2021 8:43am)
  • No mortgage experience here, but lived on a town high street for 8 years directly opposite a takeaway and pub, and almost above a nightclub. It sucked. The noise, the fights pretty much every weekend, seagulls and detritus from the night before every morning outside my front door. I wouldn't do it again. Tread carefully friend. by Saltire_Scot (Thu 8th Apr 2021 10:06am)
  • Absolutely right! I moved there when I was 22 and it was amazing, but then I got old before my time at 25 and the arseholes were too much. Loved being able to be in the pub at 5 minutes notice, and equally in my bed 10 minutes after I left, with takeout if required. by Saltire_Scot (Thu 8th Apr 2021 11:31am)
  • Sadly I agree by Saltire_Scot (Thu 8th Apr 2021 8:26pm)
  • Nanika does AMAZING bao buns (wasn't a huge fan of the rest of the menu tbh). Don't know how popular they actually are, so this might be an already well known thing. by Saltire_Scot (Sat 10th Apr 2021 7:21am)
  • If you're not veggie, trust in the black pudding bao with pineapple. I'm a changed woman after it. by Saltire_Scot (Sat 10th Apr 2021 8:08pm)
  • Absolutely something for now too. And eating/drinking your way through lockdown is in good company! by Saltire_Scot (Sat 10th Apr 2021 8:30pm)
  • Thanks! by Saltire_Scot (Wed 14th Apr 2021 10:24am)
  • Cheers! by Saltire_Scot (Wed 14th Apr 2021 10:25am)
  • Aye, I'm a dog owner with a girl that needs a bit of space. Offlead dogs that bolt towards us dont get a friendly reaction, understandably. Need to make sure your pooch knows what's up! by Saltire_Scot (Sat 17th Apr 2021 8:52pm)
  • I got loft insulation through Everwarm a few years back for my private rented flat. No idea if my landlady had to pay, but i wasn't on benefits and they guys were ace. by Saltire_Scot (Fri 23rd Apr 2021 12:47pm)
  • That is utterly beautiful. Your landscape illustrations of Scotland make it look like something out of the Ghibli universe! by Saltire_Scot (Fri 30th Apr 2021 12:09pm)
  • DELETED Thanks for the pre-warning. I'll be avoiding and giving my dog her vallies so she can get through the day and not die of a heart attack from fireworks going off at all hours. by Saltire_Scot (Mon 10th May 2021 10:18am)
  • DELETED A sedative junkie to not die of fright, yes. by Saltire_Scot (Mon 10th May 2021 10:30am)
