  • Absolutely all for people doing their renovations at the start but just wondered if anyone else has experienced it? Previous upstairs neighbour was diy sanding the floorboards for about 3 months and it genuinely sounds like an aeroplane engine going off. Also, I would counter that being considerate when renovating is also part and parcel of living in a tenement flat. IE, plaster the walls and buy some really nice flooring. by andreas_thom (Mon 1st Jun 2020 10:38am)
  • Yeah, I totally get doing the renovations as soon as you move in, it’s sensible, getting new windows, kitchens and bathrooms fitted at the start or else you’ll never get it done. Drilling, hammering and the odd bit of sanding is unavoidable when renovating. Sanding the floor though sounds absolutely horrendous just wondered if anyone else has experienced the joys of it. by andreas_thom (Mon 1st Jun 2020 10:45am)
  • Cabin fever! It’s a cracking day though so it’ll force me to go work outside today. by andreas_thom (Mon 1st Jun 2020 11:10am)
  • Yeah, even like 9am start is fine. As I said renovating when you move in or even when you live there is something you’re entitled to do! I can’t understand the need to sand walls or floorboards. Maybe it’s cause I’ve been on the other side of it, it’s something I wouldn’t even attempt. by andreas_thom (Mon 1st Jun 2020 11:19am)
  • It’s not so bad for me, the sound of them sanding has just brought back memories of the nightmare in my old flat where it was far more unpleasant as I was directly underneath the sanding, I just wondered how common it was and what other peoples experience had been like. Seeing as that’s two different flats in the space of 2 years. I’ve mentioned in previous comments that it’s just something I’d never even consider due to the noise from it. Hammering, drilling and sanding are all unavoidable when renovating and in the grand scheme aren’t that noisy. It’s more just the specific sanders on the wall and floor that’s generally quite loud. I should have been clearer in my original post by andreas_thom (Mon 1st Jun 2020 11:32am)
  • Was it Flip? I think it was there then it moved to bath street. There was a place called cult clothing as well in queen street by andreas_thom (Sun 20th Dec 2020 11:06pm)
  • All that stress to get one car in front and stop at the next set of lights. I just don't get it. by andreas_thom (Fri 10th Feb 2023 3:30pm)
  • Mental. Didn't even realise it was a cyclist on first viewing. Makes it much worse. Had someone up my arse on Saturday night while driving over prospecthill road. Flashing their lights and everything. by andreas_thom (Fri 10th Feb 2023 3:44pm)
