Not cheap but v good quality. Also do vases, crafting stuff. Worth visiting at Christmas too for decorations etc by battendoonthehatches (Wed 22nd Jan 2020 10:05pm)
  • Coop at Charing Cross and Sainsbury’s on Great Western Rd both had strong white bread flour 2 days ago. Good luck! by battendoonthehatches (Wed 15th Apr 2020 6:04pm)

  • My first time too! Didn’t know it existed until another Redditor recommended it and I only live 20 mins away! by battendoonthehatches (Wed 13th May 2020 5:31pm)
  • You do what you feel comfortable with. I’m not planning on going to a boozer or restaurant until there’s a vaccine. by battendoonthehatches (Sat 18th Jul 2020 9:37pm)

  • We did this too in our previous tenement flat - had mice - wee buggers would just run around the living room when we were watching telly! - but got a rescue cat and the mice disappeared. But then we got clothes moths - apparently mice are food at keeping them at bay cos they eat the eggs. And after several wonderful years our cat died, which was heartbreaking. So, you win some, you lose some. by battendoonthehatches (Wed 12th Aug 2020 4:54pm)
  • Another vote for the Home Removals Company from me too. Used them years ago when they were Flat2Flat and then 2 years ago to move from one top floor tenement to another top floor tenement. They are very hard-working, friendly and reasonably priced http://www.thehomeremovalscompany.co.uk/about-the-home-removals-company.html by battendoonthehatches (Sun 30th Aug 2020 8:17pm)
  • Try Twitter @GlasgowCC. I got a reply on there (albeit not a very satisfactory one). by battendoonthehatches (Sat 26th Sep 2020 9:37am)
  • So tough - sorry to hear this. There’s some info on the Shelter website - http://scotland.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/advice_topics/homelessness/in_an_emergency/emergency_accommodation. Good luck amd hope it all works out for you. by battendoonthehatches (Fri 11th Dec 2020 7:28pm)
  • Home made beef and juniper berry stew with celeriac mash and buttered greens, red wine, tv and music. Haven’t been out at Hogmanay for years as other half often works but he’s not tonight so v v happy about that. Wishing you all a great night when it comes and here’s hoping for a better year in 2021. by battendoonthehatches (Thu 31st Dec 2020 12:08pm)
  • You could try contacting Energy Action Scotland www.eas.org.uk - a fuel poverty charity based in Glasgow but working Scotland-wide. One Parent Families Scotland too - opfs.org.uk. by battendoonthehatches (Mon 4th Jan 2021 6:22pm)
  • I had a nightmare trying to contact the resident parking dept. Highly recommend emailing all your local councillors - I did this, all three responded, and my situation was resolved within a week. Use this search to find your local councillors - https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/councillorsandcommittees/addressSearch.asp. If you’re on Twitter you can also try the public shaming route. by battendoonthehatches (Sun 17th Jan 2021 8:33am)

  • Here are some things I’d like GCC to address: Large crowds gathering in areas like Kelvingrove Park, drinking (some underage), anti-social behaviour and against pandemic regs, littering, inadequate bin collections esp at tenements, pavement clutter (Edn has a campaign - https://www.livingstreets.org.uk/cuttheclutter), potholes, poor street lighting in some areas eg Park Rd G4, seagulls nesting on tenement rooftops. Thank you & good luck with your meeting. by battendoonthehatches (Sat 20th Mar 2021 8:51am)

  • If they’re very wee and black they might be houseplant flies (otherwise known as fungus gnats). I had loads to (they were in a new bag of soil that I bought to do loads of repotting.
