  • There's a group which have been fighting to keep it open/reopen it for years. [They staged a sit in](https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/17332434.govanhill-baths-facility-for-all-of-the-community-is-promised/) at the beginning of their protest. Also not sure if it counts as abandoned I'm sure there have been pop up [restaurants](https://www.designmynight.com/glasgow/blog/section-33-the-next-big-thing-in-pop-up-guerrilla-dining) and markets there from time to time. Good news is that's it's mid refurbishment and it's opening again! by brighthotrain (Thu 31st Jan 2019 8:41pm)
  • It's world book day at the start of March. Kids have to get dressed up as a character from a book for nursery or school. so thus why all the shops have started selling costumes. No idea why actual adults are dressed up in town though.... by brighthotrain (Wed 20th Feb 2019 12:22pm)

  • Whenever I move somewhere new, I put a note through the immediate neighbours door with my number and just ask them to let me know if any noise is bothering them. I always think that opens the way for them to politely say if something isn't acceptable. If I don't hear from them I know I'm good, if I do I can either stop or speak or them about it by brighthotrain (Sun 7th Apr 2019 10:09pm)
  • I’m old, but reading this made me think I miss the unit by brighthotrain (Sun 23rd Jun 2019 8:35pm)
  • I got one for French doors when I moved, took a few weeks. It’s a letter of comfort, don’t stress it was easy and the estate agent was happy with it by brighthotrain (Sat 6th Jul 2019 10:01am)
  • Whale of a time is in Shawlands but it’s not for me. A lot more parents dingying their children and letting them cause absolute chaos in there than usual. Ruff and tumble is in pollockshaws and is a good wee play area, food is usual cafe stuff but it’s ok. Sporty kids will be rammed today. The white Elephant on Merrylee road is a bar/restaurant that has a dedicated kids area full of toys and soft floor matts. Food is decent, if you’re looking for ok food it is an actual restaurant and my kids love it. Good luck! by brighthotrain (Sat 27th Jul 2019 8:11am)
  • Not sure where you are, but there’s a great place in Kilmarnock Road, right next to Pollockshaws East train station: it’s been open forever by brighthotrain (Thu 1st Aug 2019 7:59am)
  • I picked it up to put it in the bin - loads of kids and animals about, didn’t want anyone getting hurt by brighthotrain (Thu 1st Aug 2019 4:24pm)
  • I hope so, just daft kids dicking about rather than some sick fuck trying to hurt someone or some animal by brighthotrain (Thu 1st Aug 2019 9:57pm)
  • It was a voodoo doll I think, it’s got a picture of a girl in it. So weird by brighthotrain (Fri 2nd Aug 2019 5:30pm)
  • Went back today. Was still sitting in the bin. Jakey I know but I had to look. I opened it up to look for, poison or something and there was a picture of a girl in it. Freaked right oot. You were right, voodoo doll! by brighthotrain (Fri 2nd Aug 2019 5:30pm)

  • DELETED Really!? I’ve not seen that but that’s despicable. Where was this, on his actual page? by brighthotrain (Tue 20th Apr 2021 10:32pm)
  • It has? Sorry. I did read two other posts from last week but no one was in the same situation/had gone to a hotel so wanted to check if anyone had done it in the last week. When googling it says you can travel to see your child but doesn’t mention accommodation by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 10:33pm)
  • Thanks for that: did they question why you were there? Panicking they see my booking address and make a fuss/cancel when I’ve got my little one with me by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 10:58pm)
  • Thanks! It’s not very clear, it says you can go for ‘childcare’ which is technically what I’m doing. Stress man by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 10:57pm)
  • That’s a great idea. I get tested twice a week, have done for months so I have extra tests at home. Just worried I get there, get the wee one and the hotel says no because of my address. Totally right about the tier two people being in Glasgow, even just for shopping. It’s mental. I’ve stayed home, got constantly tested, worked the whole time - hitting a wall now by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 10:56pm)
  • Thank you. That makes perfect sends and is exactly what I’ll do. The whole thing is just so stressful, anxiety through the roof! by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 11:02pm)
  • Thanks - was just worried about getting my room cancelled once I arrived! by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 11:07pm)
  • Thank you. Ah I hadn’t read that, I really hope we do go back down to tier 2. Everyone needs some positive progress I think. She’s 5, haha would love to be visiting some good restaurants but more than likely will be pizza and ice cream. I hope you can rebook your trips ASAP, if so have a great time by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 11:07pm)
  • You’re an absolute hero. Thank you. Really appreciate hearing that. Will give them a call and see what they say. Cheers again by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 11:17pm)
  • Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. The anxiety is taking over! Think everyone’s in need of a bit of positivity and a well being boost, you’ve made me feel better - cheers! by brighthotrain (Tue 25th May 2021 11:15pm)

  • Cheers for the award - first time I’ve had one in the six years I’ve been on here ha! All for the Battlecats 🤢 by brighthotrain (Sat 15th Jan 2022 7:42am)
  • A guy was on there with vaguely funny posts and so many people fawned all over him. It was really strange to get my head around, especially the amount of women throwing themselves at him 😂 I’m sure he floated the idea of battlecats and a few other options, unfortunately battlecats won. Such a strange wee group! by brighthotrain (Sat 15th Jan 2022 4:03pm)
  • It was a scheduling issue from what I’ve been told. It clashes with the 25th anniversary of pride in Scotland, big events going on in the country to commemorate it. Shame, it looked like fun - it seems like it could have been an avoidable issue by brighthotrain (Tue 5th Apr 2022 10:54pm)
  • My wee guy loves kelvingrove, it’s easy to jump between there and the park too. We are southside so it’s exciting to go on the bus/train too. Ive printed off natural trail shit before too, pictures of an acorn, duck, daisy etc and we go round ticking them off at the park. A picnic is also a good one. Making a list, going to the shop together and buying the stuff, packing a bag, going to the park and eating! Not the best ideas but all I can think of off the top of my head, my little dude is 6 now so we are fully focused on Xbox and making elaborate drawings and puppets 😂 by brighthotrain (Wed 27th Apr 2022 10:23pm)
  • Involve her in the picnic stuff, even if all she does is pick shite - they love getting choices I always found! Don’t know why you’re getting abuse, a lot of parents take their kids to mini manoeuvres or similar and have a drink or two. You didn’t mention a piss up, I took it more as just looking to be kind and make friends Cheers for the award! Don’t know what it means but appreciated!! by brighthotrain (Wed 27th Apr 2022 10:32pm)
  • I get it, I do. I was on my own with the wee man too and I think you’re being proactive and a good dad looking for ways to make pals. I want brave enough to do it and it female (which is infinitely easier when it comes to making pal’s with kids). Don’t let the arseholes get you down. It’s scary enough being a single parent, pricks on here need to pipe down. I’m sure adult parents can make their own choices on what’s safe and acceptable for them and their kids Mini manoeuvres is on soon, and is great for kids. Might be worth buying a ticket. Also fucking hell your wean eats salad!? You’re doing a better job than me 😂 by brighthotrain (Wed 27th Apr 2022 10:48pm)

  • Thank you will check it out! Would be so nice to be excited about somewhere! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:08am)
  • Totally get what you are saying but if I have even the slightest bit of dairy I’m back in hospital facing surgery. Just wanted to find a great vegan place that everyone can enjoy. I adore eating out and it’s my mums 60th, don’t want them going somewhere just because of me - would be great to find a gem by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:08am)
  • Honestly everything is and I had no idea. Felt like such a dick looking through the allergy menu the last place I was in and couldn’t have anything except side salad or chips. It made everyone I was with so uncomfortable. If there was just one thing that resembled a meal I’d be happy to get on with it to keep the peace 🤦🏻‍♀️ by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:14am)
  • Downloading it now, really appreciate this. Thank you. Hate feeling so scared about eating so this will help! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:11am)

  • Thank you ❤️ by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:17am)
  • They said maybe at some point I can try it, but at the moment I’m not allowed. The minute I end up eating the wrong thing and in pain I I’ve to go onto a clear liquid diet for two days 🤦🏻‍♀️ will check those places out though. My family are being nice but I know they are stressing about this meal and I just want it to go well by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:16am)
  • Thank you will have a look - really appreciate the advice! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:14am)
  • That sounds great - I was a huge meat eater and I love to cook - but navigating this new life is tough. I have to stop and start every time o try to cook to google what to use, and I’ve never had to to that before! Thank you by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:24am)
  • Brilliant thank you will check it out. Much appreciated! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:22am)
  • Thank you so much, will check them out. Much appreciated by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:20am)
  • I love dahkin! Thank you for this, this my family would be up for that too as we’ve been there before. Appreciate the help, I really do! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:27am)
  • Thank you. I’ve been avoiding the ‘meat alternatives’ because I’m a shitebag, same with the cheese. I know they probably taste fine but they look like the real thing! Don’t want to be back in hospital away from my kid again. Those are great recommendations and I’ll add them to the list, really appreciate it thank you! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 12:26am)
  • Thank you, it’s great to know which places are worth going to. Appreciated! It was a big chain I went to the first time I went out, and was ready to just order stuff I thought would be ok - like bruschetta. But they gave me the allergen menu to look at and it made me realise how careful I have to be. Really appreciated them having that in the first place so will definitely not rule out the chain places by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 10:23am)
  • Thank you, will join those subreddits! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 10:21am)
  • Just googled and these are great, thanks for the suggestion I really appreciate it! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 10:27am)
  • This is exactly it - they don’t want to eat the meat alternatives. Which I totally understand, don’t want them to be miserable because of me! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 10:27am)
  • I will be allowed to try fish and chicken at some point down the line - as long as I heal up 🤞🏻 not been to the new crabshakk, would love to try it by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 10:25am)
  • Hadn’t heard of any of those restaurants-thank you. Timeout looks amazing! Also a vegan fried chicken wrap is blowing my mind. Going to brave it and go do a food shop today, have a screenshot of your comment to help me pick some new stuff! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 10:35am)
  • red meat, dairy and alcohol trigger my symptoms, so I have to avoid them completely. I may be allowed to add chicken, fish etc in further along the line. However at the moment I’m in the early stages of healing and I don’t want to add in any meat until my pain has stopped and I’ve been given the go ahead from my doctor. I started only being allowed clear liquids, then mashed potato, and I’ve been slowly adding in veg etc. if I end up in pain again from eating the wrong thing I will be back to clear liquids/possible surgery which is a fucking nightmare! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 4:49pm)
  • I hear you and agree completely. When i asked for the allergen menu when I was out to eat, they were very dismissive ‘is it just an intolerance, or are you choosing to be vegan for the animals?’ I felt like an absolute dick but I waitresses as a teenager and know how pissed off chefs get about stuff like this. Such a good idea to actually speak to the places I usually go to. Will make a point of popping in for a drink or something and ask. Thank you, great advice! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 4:53pm)
  • Would love to have some pizza, thought that would be completely out for me! Shawlands isn’t far away from my work so that’s really handy - thank you so much! by brighthotrain (Fri 29th Jul 2022 4:51pm)

  • Yeah that’s exactly why we can’t eat the stuff he’s grown. That’s the thing though, how can I deter it? I’ve tried every single method that comes up on google, except water. I don’t have an outside tap to set up a sensor spray and can’t always be outside. Looking for ideas? by brighthotrain (Sun 2nd Oct 2022 12:23am)
