  • Won't lie, expected this to be some hokey shite. Pleasantly surprised. Lot of good stuff going on here, well played dude. Thanks for posting. by camzo83 (Sun 31st Jan 2021 11:18pm)
  • Rather than joining something, have you considered starting something? Maybe look to start a group specifically for kids who are maybe in a similar situation. Just an idea, as you have referenced your wee one having trouble joining in things that have already started. Starting your own thing to benefit your boy might break that barrier. A group for kids who have faced similar barriers might just be the ticket? by camzo83 (Tue 2nd Feb 2021 7:01pm)
  • Well that sounds in part like you have all the tools you need. Good luck to you and your kids with whatever you get started with. by camzo83 (Thu 4th Feb 2021 12:15am)
  • Just buy a jar of nescafe and sit in the house like the rest of us ffs. by camzo83 (Sat 6th Feb 2021 4:28pm)
  • Why are people surprised by what happened. Glasgow is one if the biggest footballing cities in the world. Football means everything to both sets of teams. Scotland is also a football country. This is why you saw Celtic fans gather at their final, St Johnston fans in Perth and now Rangers fans. Its an echo chamber in here with it really is. The issue is of course the scale of what happened yesterday. It must be, as I didn't see the same echo Chambers popping up when Celtic fans were protesting or gathering at Cup finals, or St Johnston fans. I didn't see them when going to any local park in the last month and they are absolutely rammed. Political protests ok, as long as its your cause that is represented? Must be as I haven't seen the same level of vitriol aimed at them. So, folk are unhappy about the scale and number of people yesterday, I get that and I would rather it hadn't happened. In the next 4 weeks if there is no spike in Glasgow covid cases. Who is to say that the gathering won't be used as evidence that it might be safe to have gatherings again? I mean everyone is convinced by the narrative that this is going to mean Glasgow will be kept in lockdown for the next 25 years. What if it doesn't mean that? Regardless let's not pretend that it was world war 3 or Covid 20. The damage done is being paid for by fans online, several thousand of pounds going to the charities. Fans helped clear the mess. Life as it is goes on, and for a wee bit yesterday some folk got to experience genuine joy. Its not nice it was at the expense of others, but life goes on. Thanks for reading, I think its healthy that folk see differing views. I don't expect you to like it or agree. But there it is none the less. by camzo83 (Mon 8th Mar 2021 2:37pm)
  • Sorry for your loss. by camzo83 (Mon 8th Mar 2021 9:23pm)
  • Whataboutism was rife before I came along. Whataboutism is fine it seems as long as it refers to doom and gloom. Still, a result that you even read a different point of view. by camzo83 (Tue 9th Mar 2021 9:28am)
  • Chap the door and ask a neighbour across the road what the place is like to live in. Or even join the FB group or NextDoor app group for the area. Will give you picture of where you are moving to. If buying a house fa tor in garden costs. We moved into a new build and didn't realise how much it costs for even basic landscaping. If garden needs a lot of work and you plan to use it then you will need to factor that into your budget. by camzo83 (Thu 11th Mar 2021 2:43pm)

  • Any rehearsal room fits the criteria. It doesn't matter what it has in it, you can just move it around to suit you and ignore what you don't need. Pirate sounds like the best bet as already mentioned. by camzo83 (Sun 4th Apr 2021 5:51pm)
  • Where do these tend to happen? Ive never been to one, despite being a graphic novel fan. Something I would like to head along to when its allowed. by camzo83 (Mon 12th Apr 2021 7:10pm)

  • I have never had any bother in any bar when doing it. If you start cherry picking too much it isn't really the sub crawl. Try to have a drink or time limit in each pub, keeps things moving and gives the day a different buzz bouncing from pub to pub. Start early. by camzo83 (Sat 8th May 2021 9:54pm)
  • What kind of band/music you got in mind? by camzo83 (Mon 7th Jun 2021 12:07am)
  • I live near by, and walk past the area very often and not once have I ever encountered a level of smell that stopped me in my tracks. Potential for an affordable flat with what looks like superb views and a more than decent transport link. Looks the part. by camzo83 (Mon 7th Jun 2021 12:12am)

  • Yeah man. At least in the East End. Tollcross. by camzo83 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 5:01pm)
  • In such a changeable market then the huge benefit is generally price you see is price you pay. I get for any buyer currently that is a huge draw. Others have covered the drawbacks well. We bought a new build in the East End 6 years ago and will be selling it soon. Over the course we have had very little medium to big issues with it in that time beyond general upkeep. We maybe got lucky. by camzo83 (Sun 20th Feb 2022 1:39am)

  • You know, I am not sure, but I am alright with that. Not sure how many people in their late 30s only going to their first pub type gig there will be, but if anyone is in that bracket I would be more than happy to talk turkey burgers. by camzo83 (Sat 16th Apr 2022 11:34am)

  • Hi sorry, just realised you had asked about Charles Burns in reply sorry. I had managed to pick up "Last Look" which I think contains all 3 in the series. Really enjoyed it. Love his stuff has an old Bodysnatchers type vibe. You recommend anyone similar? by camzo83 (Sat 25th Jun 2022 3:50pm)

  • I haven't tried loads of places, but I did try Brawesome Bagels in Partick. Pricey but a good selection. Would definitely go back. by camzo83 (Sat 25th Jun 2022 9:13pm)
  • I absolutely was all over Beverly, found it pretty unsettling but a compulsive read. Sabrina I wasn't as sold on, but I reckon I need to go back to it. Thanks for the other heads up, big Ware fan but Simmons, Clownes and this Squirrel caper I will be seeking out. Cheers for sharing. by camzo83 (Sun 26th Jun 2022 3:37pm)
  • This is a decent shout. Used to stay local and it wasn't amazing but it was very decent and really good value for money. by camzo83 (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 5:39pm)
  • In terms of getting a job I am not too sure. But I did approach schools in the Glasgow area when I was looking to become a teacher in order to ask for some experience in the schools. I was surprised to get some responses and ended up getting into a school in Rutherglen who treated me really well. Worth approaching schools direct to get yourself known. by camzo83 (Sat 6th Aug 2022 4:01pm)
  • I would definitely say to be persistent, either followup emails or perhaps phoning direct and asking to speak to the head of a department or head teacher. Just consider timing though, first thing in the morning can be a busy time in schools but by 11am things perhaps settle a bit more. There's an active teacher community on Twitter which may be worth looking at and an opportunity to DM staff or school departments. I had to be persistent and it took a few followup emails and email different people. I also got experience through the VTO (Volunteer Tutors Organisation). They offer homework clubs and tutor support. They were fantastic and I plan to go back and help them again when I can. That's direct classtoom experience in a bit more of a slower paced environment with less kids. Was great experience. by camzo83 (Sun 7th Aug 2022 1:45pm)
  • Had the same problem, definitely caused by squirrels. Get some wire mesh from DIY store and shape it round your bin lid. Stops them getting in as they can't get through it. by camzo83 (Sun 21st Aug 2022 10:27am)
  • Mezcal have had some pretty sketchy food hygiene issues. Source - food hygiene reports online. Supplementary source - We had insects in our spinach and potato enchiladas. Like actual real insects. To be fair, the staff were apologetic. But that was an eye opener for me. Wouldn't be back. by camzo83 (Mon 22nd Aug 2022 7:57pm)
  • This sounds a blast. Fairly limited guitarist but would happy come along and try and pick up a bit of bass or strum along with stuff I'm not familiar with. All the best with it. Response seems positive and I'm definitely keen to see what comes of it. by camzo83 (Tue 6th Sep 2022 7:10pm)
  • Bitter, edgy try hard patter. And I say that as someone with no real affiliation to the monarchy. Decency costs nothing. Even anonymous internet ghouls should be capable of common decency. by camzo83 (Thu 8th Sep 2022 7:07pm)
  • Rages against an awful human, by being an awful human. The hypocrisy of the republican troll army. Your team's spending millions on players while the fans are literally freezing and starving to death. It is possible to show some decorum, be against the crown and sympathise with people struggling. Beyond you though you ugly sectarian crusader. by camzo83 (Mon 12th Sep 2022 8:25pm)
