  • Eyoo I think I used to live in the same building as you by carbonated_coconut (Fri 11th Dec 2020 10:00pm)
  • Me and my partner are currently flat hunting too (and we're also in West end!) Download the right move app and create an account for yourself. Set up a search alert for your criteria and you'll typically get 1 email each day listing the new properties available. Do this with zoopla and open rent as well. There's some 2 bed places for 600pm available, and it's always nice to have the extra space. If it's just 1 bedroom you want, then try south side or city centre as well! by carbonated_coconut (Tue 4th Jan 2022 12:49am)
  • Definitely not emptying the bins, that's for sure. by carbonated_coconut (Thu 6th Jan 2022 1:17pm)
  • Its in our tenancy agreement to get any carpets professionally cleaned due to us having 2 cats at the property. The 2 bedrooms are carpeted, other than that we have wooden floors in the kitchen/lougne and hallway, then tile in the 2 bathrooms. I'd prefer to get the whole flat professionally cleaned, that way I know it's been done to a high enough standard. Any time I've tried to clean myself at end of a tenancy I've always had the landlords claim that the flat was still dirty. by carbonated_coconut (Mon 17th Jan 2022 12:56pm)
  • It's part of our contract to have the carpeted rooms professionally cleaned and they can ask for proof of this cleaning being done. by carbonated_coconut (Mon 17th Jan 2022 1:12pm)
  • I'll get in touch with them to find out who they usually use then, thank you! by carbonated_coconut (Mon 17th Jan 2022 1:34pm)
  • We did find it a bit odd, I've emailed them to get it clarified. They claimed at the start that the flat had been cleaned before entry, but there were still some marks and stains that they claimed were permanent and they put them in our inventory checklist, but I easily cleaned them up in a matter of minutes. by carbonated_coconut (Mon 17th Jan 2022 1:35pm)
  • Thank you this is really helpful! Neither I or my partner are going to have the time or energy to clean the flat ourselves, so we're more than happy to pay. I'll give PAC a look then :D by carbonated_coconut (Tue 18th Jan 2022 10:11am)
  • I've pm'd you 😊 by carbonated_coconut (Wed 19th Jan 2022 9:08pm)
  • You'd get a nice flat for the in West End! Or you can get somewhere more spacious for the same in southside. My partner and I are moving from Anniesland to Croftfoot and were going from a 2 bed to a 3 bed, and paying less for it. Others have said it too, but the mount florida area is great! by carbonated_coconut (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 7:58pm)

  • I say yes, does my head in. I was traveling on a busy early morning train for jury duty last week and the sheer amount of people just ignoring crowded aisles and pretending they weren't taking up a seat with their stupid small bag. The people that sit with their legs spread wide open also seem to be worse than usually, they're not evening trying to make space for others. by carbonated_coconut (Tue 29th Mar 2022 3:14pm)
  • I'm from Northern Ireland, I fucking hate the orange walks and everything to do with the 12th. Riots broke out in my town one year (I mean they happen every year but it was really bad this one time) because for some stupid reason they decided to hang a bunch of flags along the wall of the Catholic Church. The church asked them to remove them, the orange men said no. So the church took them down themselves and the loyalists went fucking nuts. They started protesting and rioting, and they eventually stole a bus, drove it to the entrance of the Catholic estate and blocked the only road in/out and set the bus on fire, then continued to riot. The whole street was lined with riot vans and they had to bring in water by helicopter. I had friends in that estate and along that road and they were fucking terrified. There were parents with little kids that literally couldn't get somewhere safe cause they were trapped. by carbonated_coconut (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 4:17pm)

  • If you're renting you have a responsibility to maintain the flat, and it being 14 degrees or below is going to create problems with mould/mildew, not the mention the risk of the pipes cracking in the colder weather if the heating isn't coming on to thaw it out. It sucks that your flatmate is being stingy with the heating. I lived with someone like that, it was a flat of 4 and this one guy refused to contribute towards the gas because he only ever used cold water. by carbonated_coconut (Tue 17th Jan 2023 1:50pm)
  • This as well, but we all know the landlord isn't gonna inconvenience themselves like that by carbonated_coconut (Tue 17th Jan 2023 3:01pm)
  • I was, eventually got through & into a queue after a couple hours of just constantly ringing it! by carbonated_coconut (Wed 26th Apr 2023 12:07pm)
  • Their online form was honestly so convenient but it started getting taking down almost immediately after they opened cause they were already full up with appointments. Now it seems like you just have to keep calling until you're lucky enough to get a place in the queue by carbonated_coconut (Wed 26th Apr 2023 12:25pm)
