  • Ahaha that sketch was the only thing I could think about when I saw this flat was in Yoker!! If I go off from that then it definitely seems nice :) by ccourfeyrac (Wed 2nd Sep 2020 12:49pm)
  • Thank you! I read that page before but I guess I didn't completely understand. Makes sense! by ccourfeyrac (Sun 7th Feb 2021 11:49pm)
  • There's not a lot of people no, whenever I ride I'm mostly in an empty carriage or with one or two other people tops. The busiest I've seen it has been around 8-8.30am but even then there was space to social distance. It's such a great service, I hope it's getting that support too by ccourfeyrac (Mon 8th Feb 2021 10:58am)
  • This sounds amazing by ccourfeyrac (Sat 13th Mar 2021 2:28pm)
  • I miss this so much by ccourfeyrac (Sat 13th Mar 2021 2:27pm)
  • I'm currently renting a 1 bedroom flat just south of the river with a private landlord for under £600. Sometimes private landlords can be surprisingly better if they're organised and they give a good impression at a viewing. Check out OpenRent for stuff like that. In general I've found Glasgow to be super affordable so I wouldn't worry too much with your salary which is decent! For the prices you mentioned you can probably get slightly nicer flats and more central. by ccourfeyrac (Wed 5th May 2021 8:07pm)
  • Bite Me sandwich bar, right outside Cessnock station - between £3.50-4.50 for juicy, deep filled homemade paninis, wraps and baguettes. Super nice people running it and they're hilarious on social media too. Always a go too for a quick delicious lunch by ccourfeyrac (Thu 5th Aug 2021 6:20pm)
  • You literally can lol, it's really depressing to be hopelessly refreshing all day, for hours. Obviously they will eventually find something but it can take time and agencies aren't particularly kind to young couples/students. by ccourfeyrac (Thu 12th Aug 2021 1:46pm)
  • I also struggled for a very long time during my move to Glasgow last year. My salvation was OpenRent where you tend to have more private landlords who don't have fees like agencies do. I found a 1 bed with my partner in the southside for £550. It was difficult but you will find something, sorry about this OP. by ccourfeyrac (Thu 12th Aug 2021 1:49pm)
  • Hey! I live in that area and I've been so happy. Like other users say it just gets a bit rowdy on match days. Other than that, I love it because you have the medical center, pharmacy, local food shops, take away, subway, buses... Honestly so handy and well connected, and I love the style of tenement flats. You get way cheaper rent for just being slightly out of the centre, which is super worth it imo. by ccourfeyrac (Sat 14th Aug 2021 2:30pm)
  • Ah that might be a bit far for me but thank you! X by ccourfeyrac (Tue 24th Aug 2021 11:44am)
  • I'll check them out thanks! by ccourfeyrac (Tue 24th Aug 2021 11:43am)
  • Oh yeah I'd love to check him out :) by ccourfeyrac (Tue 24th Aug 2021 11:43am)

  • Give Soul Food Kitchen a try, small menu but it's all super tasty and completely vegan. Super decadent. by ccourfeyrac (Tue 31st Aug 2021 8:00pm)
  • Can confirm, the Kickstarter scheme is a life saver if you're 16-25. Get on UC asap, they've been so helpful for me and other people I know in Glasgow by ccourfeyrac (Fri 10th Sep 2021 11:21pm)
  • Ah cheers I'll pass by and see! X by ccourfeyrac (Sun 19th Sep 2021 5:28pm)
  • Saying thanks is common where I grew up in Bromley outside of London, and that's a pretty posh area. I say it here in Glasgow too after I moved and realized generally people do it here too. Not sure it's a generational thing though, it's a shame you have that view of young people. by ccourfeyrac (Wed 26th Oct 2022 4:36pm)
  • Oh lovely, I live much nearer to Linn park now, I might go have a look by ccourfeyrac (Mon 5th Dec 2022 9:09pm)
  • Ah good shout hadn't thought of that! by ccourfeyrac (Mon 5th Dec 2022 9:08pm)
  • Omg I forgot about Tchai Ovna! Need to go back soon by ccourfeyrac (Tue 6th Dec 2022 10:12am)
  • I can see them from my window and they make it feel like I'm in a city full of skyscrapers instead of on the 3rd floor of a tenement. Admittedly I was confused when I first saw them, thought it was a bar or something!! by ccourfeyrac (Fri 3rd Feb 2023 1:57am)
  • This was so fun to read as someone from around Alicante who lives in Glasgow!!! Glad you enjoyed your stay here :') by ccourfeyrac (Wed 15th Feb 2023 12:13am)
  • I found Young's Interesting Books in Shawlands by accident one day, it's small and cute with a range of second hand books, rare and vintage ones, and new stuff as well. Lovely vibes. Also Mount Florida Books on Cathcart Road is lovely, lots of independent authors and art books, and a big shelf of used books for £1 each, amazing honestly. by ccourfeyrac (Sun 2nd Apr 2023 2:32pm)
  • OP this is the best advice, lots of other comments here just boiling it down to "you need to be rich or well connected already" but don't pay attention to that. Everything I would say is already in this comment right here. by ccourfeyrac (Wed 26th Apr 2023 10:37am)
